The Nook is superlative in every way, starting with the very friendly and welcoming host Anna. She truly cares about the guests and ensuring they have everything they need. The space itself is a unique combination of historic charm and modern luxury. The one bedroom with one and half baths is the perfect size for a solo traveler like myself and would be good for up to 4 people (there is a sleep sofa too). The Nook stands out in being perfectly clean and well-appointed. The furnishings and decor are modern cool and look like a layout from a designer website. The bed was extremely comfortable and to luxuriate in the beautifully-tiled shower is reason alone to travel to Richmond. The Church Hill location was fun and very convenient. The neighborhood is vibrant, safe and full of shops, restaurants and parks within walking distance. My dog traveled with me and I appreciated having the small fenced yard for him. I can’t speak highly enough of the Nook and hope to stay there whenever I travel to Richmond.

Why they chose this property

1. Authentic "Local" Immersion
In Church Hill, you aren’t just a tourist; you’re a neighbor. Staying on an "intensely cute," tree-lined block allows you to feel the heartbeat of Richmond. You get the morning quiet, the friendly nods from locals, and the charm of a historic community that has looked after one another for generations.

2. Modern Luxury in a Historic Shell
Many historic stays can feel cramped or outdated. The Nook flips that script:

The King Bed: A rarity in cozy historic homes, providing a true luxury sleep experience.

The Bathroom: Having an "immaculate" full bath (plus a half-bath for convenience) adds a layer of spa-like relaxation to your trip.

3. Purposeful, Multi-Story Design
Because it is a two-story space, there is a clear separation of life and rest. You can enjoy a lively dinner or work at the bistro table downstairs, then "retreat" upstairs to the bedroom. It feels much larger and more like a private home than a flat.

4. "Work-from-Anywhere" Friendly
With two large Smart TVs and a dedicated bistro table, it’s perfectly set up for digital nomads or business travelers. You have the tech you need for entertainment or meetings, paired with the comfort of a fully stocked kitchen so you don't have to eat out for every meal.

5. Flexibility for Groups
The inclusion of a high-quality, comfortable pull-out sofa means that even though it’s a 1-bedroom, it can comfortably accommodate a small family or a group of friends without anyone feeling like they are "roughing it" on a typical thin mattress.

6. Walkability to "Best-of" Lists
You are within walking distance of some of the best food in the country (like Sub Rosa and The Roosevelt) and the most famous views in Virginia (Libby Hill). You can park your car and essentially forget about it until you leave.
