Historic, comfortable and roomy apartment in heart of Berlin
We had an incredible stay in this beautiful and spacious apartment. We had plenty of space and all of the amenities we needed. The neighborhood was lovely, with easy access to public transit, proximate to grocery and dining, and an easy walk to quite a few of Berlin’s many landmarks. The apartment was incredibly comfortable and had everything our family of four needed. Our host, Marion, was very welcoming, shared lots of interesting history of the building, as well as providing clear instructions and very helpful recommendations. We would definitely return the next time we visit Berlin.

Excellent week with family
Clean spacious quiet conformable flat for family or friends, with 3br (two twins in each room, which can be kept together side by side for couples) and 2bathrooms each with shower (no tub). Bthrms are at front end of the hallway, not en suite. Water is good and hot. Building is secure, with a quiet courtyard behind a private gate. There's a luggage room you can access to store bags before check-in time. Flat is walk-up on 3rd floor. Located a couple blocks south of Checkpoint Charlie, close to U6 and U3 stops, very walkable to Brandenburg Gate + Museum Island. You can make coffee, bfast and keep food and drinks at the apartment of course, but there's a good coffee place across the street that opens 7:30 weekdays, and 3 or 4 other coffee places a few minutes away. Bring (or buy locally) soap and shampoo you like. Owners are responsive and helpful. Detailed check-in/access and other instructions are sent a couple days before your arrival. We had no issues - TV with Netflix, good windows, plumbing, appliances, closets etc. If you do laundry, there are machines in the apt, but multiple 2—euro coins will be needed.

Excellent location...nice accommodations
This was a really nice and large apartment. It has 3 nice sized bedrooms it has 2 nice. Bathrooms. It is bright and clean looking. Had nice Netflix as well as amazon prime video. The internet worked perfectly. There was a nice balcony to relax on as well. All of the bedrooms had awesome comfortable beds. This apartment was in an awesome location. Right between two metro stops. It was short 5 min walk to the metro, which then connects to anywhere you might want to go. We got a weekly pass with credit card right at the station and we were set. Berlin was super fun. We are returning for Christmas th is year.

BE AWARE, HAD TO FIGHT TO GET SECURITY DEPOSIT BACK
The apartment was very nice, however the property manager charged us AFTER arrival for a security deposit and wanted me to pay him in cash. I refused to do so and so he billed me through HomeAway. We left the place in spotless condition yet I never received my deposit back. I reached out multiple times and the property manager ignored my messages each time. I had to go through HomeAway and after repeated calls and messages to them they contacted the owner and I was refunded. The owner then sent me a message and said he was confused and thought I was someone else. Even if that were true all he needed to do was respond to my REPEATED messages. I would not recommend renting through them and definitely don't pay any deposit in cash. You'll never see it again

Clean, comfortable and close to everything
This was a great property for my family of five. The location is a 5 minute walk (approx) to check point charlie and you can easily to get Brandenburg Gate, museums, Jewish memorial, shopping, Berlin Mitte, Museum Insel, etc. The check in is a bit complicated but the apartment is so worth it. I would definetley stay here again and look forward to visiting the little coffee shop down the Street for breakfast. If you walk one direction you are almost immediately in the center of business and tourism and if you walk in the other direction you are in a normal neighborhood with a grocery and inexpensive neighborhood restaurants. Great Place!

Convenient location and nice property
Nice apartment, good for family stay. Clean and well kept-up. Although does not have air-conditioning, temperatures were ok. Important to be aware that there is a cash charge, during your stay, if you book with credit cards, and for city taxes.

Unique Property with Many Pluses
This historic property has its quirks, but on balance it cannot be considered anything but excellent. The apartments themselves are conveniently located. They are on the Friedrichstrasse about a half mile south of Under the Lindens, so it’s just south of the center of the major area in Berlin you are likely visiting. The street itself at one time was THE address in Berlin. With the WWII bombings, this is one of the only, if the only, original structures left more or less intact. It is probably the most attractive building on the street for many blocks. They have a book on the building’s history (in German). It is near Checkpoint Charlie., which is worth a walk-through for historic reasons, but the guard shack there is not the original one. There are one or two smaller museums about the wall right by – there are several such attractions around Berlin, including the DDR museum and the Wall Memorial about a mile to the north. There are many sites that may be of interest in the area, including a Trabi museum (yes, it leans towards kitsch) and the cite of Gestapo headquarters (which definitely does not). In terms of getting around Berlin, you are a 5-minute walk from the U-Bahn station, and about two stops from Under the Linden. The U-Bahn system is excellent and fast – we found it very quick and easy to get where we wanted. If you choose to walk, you will cross one of many sites of the Berlin wall and there is a shopping district about a block north of Checkpoint Charlie that goes on for several blocks. There is also a grocery store ( Lidl or Aldi) about a block and a half away. The apartments are very large and spacious, with high ceilings. We found it easy to spread out and the apartments were very comfortable. They appear to be newly renovated, but in any case are in excellent condition. The bathrooms, too, are spacious and modern. Wi-fi was easy, fast, and reliable. For the most part the apartments are quiet, but we did get some neighborhood noise on a Saturday night. It wasn't a big deal. TWO NOTES: there are actually 4 or so apartments on the site. Only one has the beautiful wooden ceilings shown in some of the photos. Double-check if its important to you. Second: These are on the second floor (3rd floor to Americans). It's 50 steps and about 4 flights to your door. We had no issues, but if you are mobility impaired, it might be. These apartments are an excellent choice if you are visiting Berlin on holiday.

Beutiful Historic Apartment
The apartment was spacious, quiet, well cared for, and comfortable. The location is very near the U-bahn, and close walking distance to Check-point Charlie. The owner is well-organized, providing timely and clear information regarding the rental. We would be happy to stay here again

Excellent location, clean, very spacious!
This apartment was in a great location. We were minutes from Checkpoint Charlie and the U-Bahn. The apartment is in a quiet residential neighborhood, and was extremely clean and well-kept. The clothes washer and dryer were a great added bonus for our stay. Pros: • Quiet building, quiet neighborhood. • Out the front door and down the block to the left is a great little coffee shop, Caffee Corner, where we ate a croissant and had cappuccino every morning of our stay. Diagonally across the corner there is a nice grocery store. There is also an Indian restaurant near there, Delhi 6, that was excellent. • The washer and dryer was excellent. Soap is provided! The instructions were a little challenging to figure out, but we managed. It is 3 euros for each load in the washer and the dryer, and you leave that on the table with a note when you leave, so be prepared with a few coins. It was well worth the couple of euros to have clean clothes, and to not have to find a laundromat somewhere in the city. • Close to the U-Bahn. If this is your first trip to Berlin, take a little time to figure out the public transportation. It really is easy to get around the city to anywhere you want to go, and the U-Bahn and S-Bahn trains are easy to navigate. • The hosts were great! It was easy to book the apartment, and they were responsive via email before our trip and telephone while we were there. Cons: • This is a con for us, not the apartment. 😊 We didn’t read the directions carefully enough, and went in the wrong side of the building. You want to go in the left door of the front of the building, following the directions the hosts give you. The door is enormous and very heavy! 😊 Overall, this was one of the best places we stayed on our trip through Germany, Belgium and Holland. We will stay here again on our next trip to Berlin!

A very nice apartment
I stayed in apartment D with my family during a recent visit. The location of the apartment is good, we had no concerns during our stay. We were within an easy walk to the U Bahn station and even enjoyed a long walk to see the Bundestag and the Brandenburg Gate. The apartment was clean and had comfortable furniture. It was VERY warm during our stay. With windows on just one side, there was no opportunity for cross ventilation. A fan or two would be a good addition to the apartment. The laundry is convenient and we took advantage of it, however, it is an additional cost.

Caution before your book.
My family of five eagerly made our travels from Prague to Berlin. We had booked this favorably reviewed property in April. Because of the hot July weather I made sure that I booked a property with air conditioning knowing that Berlin was once part of swamp land. I contacted the property manager and indicated we would also like to have fans. When we arrived, the apartment was a hot, no fans were provided, there were three sets of towels for the five of us, and the refrigerator was powered off. We were all drenched in sweat having climb three flights of stairs with luggage in 90+ degree weather. At 6 PM, upon our arrival, we contacted the manager about turning on the air conditioning. He indicated that it was not the conventional type forced air systems which cooled the apartment and could not be regulated. Later Marian informed me that the system was nonfunctional. He promised to be by 9:30 PM with towels and fan. This never materialized. With the gracious assistance of HomeAway we booked a hotel and departed. As we were leaving at 10:15 PM we ran into Marian who was in the laundry room downstairs. Later, he messaged me that he had fulfilled the terms of this contract and would not consider reimbursing any part of the rent. If you read the rules and regulations there are rather squirrley clauses indicating that the renter is responsible for washing and putting up dishes, glasses and silverware prior to departure. Otherwise, you will incur extra fees. So you will be charged extra in addition to cleaning fees??? What a disaster!

Beautiful apartment, excellent location
Overall, I was very happy with the stay and with our host. The apartment was spacious and well-equipped. My only heads-up to future guests is that the pictures on the website don't all apply to the apartment you're looking at - the pictures are drawn from four different apartments that the owner rents out. For example, the beautiful coffered ceilings are apparently found only in one of the apartments. I could have figured that out if I'd carefully looked at all the pictures, but even so it wouldn't have been clear which apartment each picture belonged to. I therefore paid a bit more than I might have otherwise chosen to because I was expecting a more elegant space than the one I actually stayed in.

Very good locations - particularly for historical site visits
Took the family to Berlin for a few days to visit some historical sites. This was a great location to base from. Amenities were great. PLENTY of bed space for many more than we had on our trip allowing the family to spread out. Because the owners have several properties in the same building, it was a challenge to determine which pictures belonged to which condo, but most of them are labeled to give you some direction. Since we were driving a car, it was imperative to have parking, which the owners described as two lots close by, which was correct. (Be sure to have change if you are parking in those lots, which do not accept cards or bills - coins only!) Parking is free on the streets (in clearly marked areas) and we were fortunate enough to find a great street spot so we won that round! Having washer and dryer in some units is a huge plus, particularly if you are on a long trip and need to wash. Make sure you check which units have them or your convenience. Would certainly stay in one of the other apartments owned by MyBerlinStyle on a future visit.

Beautiful, modern and spacious apartment in Berlin
This apartment has abundant natural light and a great layout. The bedroom arrangement and 2 full bathrooms were perfect for our family of 5. There are two grocery stores nearby with everything we needed to make breakfasts (and even dinner if you're so inclined). We especially appreciated the apartment's well stocked kitchen. We also appreciated the fluffy towels and comfortable beds. Wish we would have had better weather so that we could have enjoyed the balcony. Thank you for providing us a wonderful home base for our first trip to Berlin!

Great Berlin Location
We had a wonderful stay in this flat (Friedrichstrasse 17 Unit 11D). The location is excellent: easy walking distance to great retail and restaurants around the Gendarmenmarkt and the Kochstrasse U-Bahn station for anywhere else in Berlin you want to go. The flat is very spacious which allowed our two grown children to have their own bedrooms. You will be very comfortable here! The owner's rep is on site and will help you with any needs. The only warning is that there is no elevator, so carrying luggage up 3 flights of stairs can be a challenge. However, I highly recommend this location!

Worth the hike
As we climbed the stairs to the room we dreaded our decision but that had to do with being 70 years old and suffering jet lag, but once we reached the apartment we fell in love. It was very spacious with a nice living area. The bedrooms were wonderful and we caught up on our sleep. We highly recommend this property to anyone but want to remind them there is no elevator. We would gladly stay there if we ever return to Berlin.

An Unusual Experience!
Property is clean and centrally located. There is a very steep climb-up 3 flights. Bathrooms are huge. The furniture in the common area is uncomfortable and the trash room was crowded with boxes and trash. The beds are very comfortable. The washer and dryer is more than adequate but there is an extra charge for each use. The kitchen area is sleek with nice appliances but NO soaps or paper goods are present upon arrival -not even a dish towel. The stove was not unlocked for use.. We relied on the Internet to find instructions. The building has so much character but the apartment lacks a decorative touch. If English is your language you may have some difficulty dealing with the owner. Please read your contract VERY carefully.. The owners fees are yours to pay.. We enjoyed our stay in Berlin but this rental experience was difficult in comparison to accommodations in other countries.

Came with group of 7, rented 11a & 11d. Clean, easy access, nice.
Property is in questionable neighborhood but located 10-15 mins from nice area, shopping, restaurants. Came to run Berlin Marathon. Walking distance to & from start line. Another unit had a late night loud party the night before Marathon and owner did nothing to shut it down. Be ready to pay additional tax once you're checked in.

Spacious unit in a convenient location
The apartment unit was a very spacious one, ideally suited for groups of four to six, i.e. three bedrooms, two bathrooms and large living/dining area. It offers lots of natural light, a well-equipped kitchen, and laundry facilities, which we really appreciated. We found the location quite convenient for visiting major sights. Depending on one's walking capacity, much of the major sightseeing can be done by foot e.g. Museum Island, the Bundestag, Brandenberg Gate etc.; otherwise, the subway station is only a couple of blocks away. The hop-on hop-off bus also stops about three blocks away. There is also good access to grocery stores fairly close by. The apartment was clean and well maintained, but its appearance is rather spartan - a couple of wall-hangings would make it feel so much more welcoming and homey. We were also a bit frustated that we were not provided with the very latest entry arrangements - the key location and code had been changed but we were not informed. Because of unexpected flight delays, we did not arrive until 11pm so we felt badly about bothering the owner at such a late hour to gain access to the unit. However, we do want to stress how accommodating he was.
