About Colin Buffin

My husband and I have been visiting the island since 1987. Since then we have rented many different homes on the island. We bought our first house in 1994 and have spent many years here enjoying school holidays with our two boys. We lived in London so our time was limited until recently when my husband retired. We are now full time residents and are very happy to be here. We bought Lime Tree, which in next door to our main house, in 1996.

Lime Tree has the best of all worlds for renters:

The location is the best on the island. Private with space and beautiful views. We have done a lot of traveling and are always happiest when pulling into the harbor on the ferry.

Colin Buffin purchased this house in 1996

Why Colin Buffin chose Hope Town

Lime Tree is a private and spacious home. It is not overlooked by anyone. The house has a large deck over looking the sea with beautiful views, a expansive white sand beach which is almost always empty and is a comfortable spacious up to date home. The bedrooms are lovely with views on to the sea. The beds have fluffy duvets and crisp sheets. The house has its own dock so boating is simple. The house is close enough to town that you can walk but far enough so there are no worries about noise from town. The property has a care taker who lives on the property in a separate house and can help with your needs any time of day or night.

What makes this house unique

The unique benefits of Lime Tree Cottage is first it sits right on the ocean. The Bahamas are unique with their coral reefs and the reef protects the island so the ocean is quite calm and gentle. The sand is pure white and totally unspoiled. You can snorkel right in front of the house! There is always a lovely breeze and plenty of sunshine.

Another benefit is the dock. It makes boating very convenient when your boat is just a few steps away. The dock is very protected and private so there is also little worry about other boaters or other boats.

The most fantastic feature of the house is the privacy you feel when staying at Lime Tree. The house is not overlooked by anyone. The decks are large and comfortable. Whether you are relaxing indoors or out the atmosphere is calm and peaceful.

The house has clean fresh linen and a fully equipped kitchen.

Lime Tree also comes with a full time care taker He will collect the rubbish daily and do any cleaning you may require. He is available to drop you or pick you up from the ferry. He lives in a separate house on the grounds and is available to help at a moments notice. He has been with the property for over 25 years and is able to make you visit effortless.

Wonderful beachfront escape with an incredible view and lovely sea breeze coming right into the living room. Perfect for families or friends looking to escape the tourist scene, less than 10 minutes from Town. Highly recommended!

Best vacation ever!

  • 5 of 5

House is perfect for 1 family or two couples. View might be best on Elbow Cay. Atlantic breezes kept porch comfortable at all times. Reef in front of house was great as well, but a boat is needed for bigger reefs around surrounding islands. Dock in back was a must and very convenient. Staff were great at Elbow Cay Properties, as were all locals. We will come back!
