Host Shaniqua was pleasant from start to finish. Shaniqua Communication from start to finish was great, any questions I had were answered quickly. The house was clean amenities were there and accessible. Space for a family of four was great. House is located close to anything we needed. Definitely will be returning!
The property inside was spotless with lots of little extra touches left for the guests' use or needs. The twin beds could use perhaps pillow top mattress coverings as they we very hard to sleep on. The yard was in need of a mow and the clover growing attracted bees which was concerning for my son who is allergic. The grill outside was broken and inoperable which was a disappointment as we planned our meals around it's use. Aside from that, the property was perfect. A short walk to the beach and a quaint downtown gave us exactly what we were looking for. Our son is stationed in Norfolk and when we return in the Fall, we would stay here again.
This is a quaint 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom house tucked away in Buckroe Beach. We really appreciated the short 10 minute walk to the beach so we didn't have to deal with traffic and parking. Parking for the house was spacious and convenient right in front of the house. The kitchen was clean, open and adequately stocked with the essentials. There is a cute back deck with grill that we did not have the opportuinty to utilize this trip. The master bedroom upstairs was spacious and did not seem crowded at all with the twin and full bed in it. There is a huge closet off the master and a clean and comfortable size master bathroom. The second bedroom also had a twin and full bed with a good size closet. That room was a little more crowded, but still comfortable and also had a good size closet to put your things. I recommend bringing extra towels for the beach, as there are enough for the house for 6 guests. All-in-all, this is a great house to getaway for some quiet time and access to the beach whether you are coming for a weekend or a week.
We rented here as a mini vacation when we moved our son from basic training in SC to Ft. Eustis, about 30 minutes away from the house. It was perfect for the 5 of us and had everything we needed. The host went above and beyond when she had a small grill delivered because the one at the house was not usable. She replied almost immediately to the couple other questions we had. Our plans changed, and we didn't have time to walk to the beach, but the proximity was part of the reason we booked here. We did visit the beach after we checked out of the house, and it was clean and beautiful and less crowded and touristy than most beaches you'd visit. We would definitely stay here again!
Positives: Check in was super easy, the host was very kind, responsive, and helpful before and during our stay. The house itself is beautiful, especially the kitchen – the kitchen and bathrooms were stocked well with everything we may have needed! Very nice neighborhood and just a short walk or drive to Buckroe Beach and Park, which is amazing!Negatives: I was travelling with my wife and 3 of our kids so there was enough beds, but they were pretty uncomfortable and it was very challenging to have family time on such a small couch. The couch is also not in the best shape and most of the furniture is fairly cheap. The wifi is pretty terrible if you're trying to anything more than watch TV – but there is an option to purchase a higher speed – however, then you would have to use hotspot in order to run the devices.Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and we would absolutely stay here again!
