Loved the view! Sitting on the deck or in the sitting room watching the sunset was the highlight of our day. Great fishing as we were right on the water! Plenty of places to walk around and fish, my son loved using the kayak out in the water to fish too! Plenty of space for our family in the house, kitchen was well stocked for us to cook meals there. Comfortable furniture for hanging out in the house. We had a few minor issues during our stay, but the host was quick to respond and get them fixed, he was great! I did not realize we would have to take a ferry for 16 round trip every time we left the island, there is not much on the island to do or eat, but it was a minor inconvenience for such a beautiful place and quiet relaxing environment. Highly recommend this home and location! My boys got some monster fish and had a blast! :)

About the host

Hi, I'm Erik, and along with my wife Jasmine and four kids, I'm excited to welcome you to The Nest.

We've always loved spending time on the water and escaping to places where life moves a little slower. After discovering Harsens Island, we knew we had found something special. The boating, fishing, hunting, waterfront sunsets, and small-town island atmosphere create the perfect setting to unplug, relax, and spend quality time with the people who matter most.

We created The Nest to be more than just a vacation rental. Our goal was to create a comfortable, welcoming retreat where families can gather, friends can reconnect, and guests can experience the unique charm of island life. Every improvement we've made has been with that goal in mind.

When we're not enjoying time on the island, we live in Ohio, where I own and operate a healthcare practice. Hospitality may not be my full-time profession, but taking care of people is. We believe great hosting comes down to the same principles—being responsive, paying attention to details, and helping people have the best possible experience.

Whether you're coming for a fishing trip, a boating adventure, a hunting excursion, a family getaway, or simply some quiet time by the water, we're grateful you've considered staying with us. We love sharing our favorite local spots and helping guests discover everything that makes Harsens Island such a special destination.

We look forward to hosting you and hope The Nest becomes a place you'll want to return to year after year.

Why they chose this property

We chose this neighborhood because it offers everything we love about waterfront living while still maintaining the peaceful, laid-back character that makes Harsens Island so special.

Located on Muscamoot Bay, this area provides easy access to some of the best boating, fishing, and waterfront recreation in the region. Whether you're heading out for a day on the water, visiting the nearby sandbars, casting a line, kayaking through the channels, or simply enjoying a sunset by the shore, there is no shortage of ways to enjoy the outdoors.

One of the things we appreciate most is the unique pace of life here. Unlike many busy vacation destinations, Harsens Island feels like a step back in time. The roads are quieter, the scenery is beautiful, and the community has a welcoming, small-town feel that encourages you to slow down and enjoy the moment.

The area is also a favorite destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Boaters enjoy direct access to Muscamoot Bay, the St. Clair River, and Lake St. Clair. Anglers come for world-class fishing opportunities, while hunters are drawn to the area's rich waterfowl traditions and natural habitats. It's a destination that offers something different in every season.

Despite its peaceful setting, you'll still find local restaurants, marinas, parks, and island attractions just a short drive away. Whether you're spending the day exploring the island, enjoying time on the water, or relaxing with family and friends at the house, the location makes it easy to create the kind of getaway that fits your style.

For us, this neighborhood represents everything that makes Harsens Island memorable—beautiful water views, endless outdoor recreation, a welcoming community, and the opportunity to truly disconnect from the stresses of everyday life. We fell in love with it the first time we visited, and we're excited to share it with our guests.

What makes this property unique

What makes our property unique is its combination of comfort, convenience, and direct access to everything that draws people to Harsens Island in the first place.

Located on Muscamoot Bay, our guests enjoy easy access to some of the area's most sought-after destinations, including Muscamoot Bay's famous sandbars, the St. Clair River, and Lake St. Clair. Whether you're spending the day cruising the bay, fishing the river, exploring the lake, or enjoying waterfront restaurants and attractions, you're perfectly positioned to make the most of your time on the water.

For boaters, anglers, and hunters, the property serves as an ideal home base. Launch your day with quick access to world-class fishing, boating, and waterfowl hunting opportunities, then return to a comfortable place to relax and recharge. The location makes it easy to maximize your time outdoors rather than spending it traveling to and from access points.

One feature our guests especially appreciate is the ability to bring their boats, trailers, and recreational equipment with confidence. The property offers protected parking for boats and trailers, providing peace of mind while giving you the flexibility to enjoy the water on your own schedule. Whether you're bringing a fishing boat, hunting rig, personal watercraft, or multiple vehicles for a group getaway, you'll have the space you need.

Beyond the outdoor recreation, The Nest was designed to be a welcoming gathering place for families and friends. After a day on the water, guests can return to a comfortable, well-equipped home where they can relax, share meals, enjoy shuffle board and fooseball while making lasting memories together.

It's this combination of location, water access, outdoor adventure, and guest-focused amenities that makes The Nest a favorite destination for boaters, anglers, hunters, and families looking to experience the best of Harsens Island.
