Internet was a little slow, but otherwise, this property is great. The house is very nicely appointed, and the beds (3) are extremely comfortable. The key to this property is the location and the front yard--which is amazing. We were able to walk a few blocks to downtown restaurants and the beach. Neighborhood is quiet and very dog friendly. The front yard is meticulously landscaped. We spent several hours just lounging in the front yard.Highly recommended.

Thank you so much! We’re really glad you enjoyed the home, the comfortable beds, and especially the front yard—it’s definitely one of our favorite parts of the property too. Great to hear you were able to relax there and also take advantage of the walkable location to downtown and the beach. Appreciate your note about the internet as well—we’ll keep an eye on that. Thanks again for the recommendation, and we’d love to host you again anytime!

Our stay there was very nice - it was plenty big for us with 3 bed rooms, large kitchen, living room, etc.The place was also in very nice condition and clean. It is about a 10 minute walk to a beach and a 10 minute walk to the downtown section - so very easy to get down there with the nice weather. There are also some nice restaurants that you can walk to only a few minutes away. One thing I would mention for some people is that the parking is not really "onsite" - it is street parking. At first I was concerned, but it turned out that parking on the street was easy and we never had to park more than a few houses away, but I could see this being a problem for older people or maybe mobility impaired if they thought there was a dedicated parking spot. Also - there was air conditioning in the bed rooms. That wasn't listed, so it was a very nice surprise and helped on hot days.Overall we were very happy there and would recommend the location to others.

Thanks so much for taking the time to leave such a detailed review! We're so glad the house had plenty of space for your group and that you enjoyed the quick walk to the beach, downtown, and local restaurants. Just to clear up a quick detail for future guests reading along: as noted in our listing description, the property does not have A/C, but we do leave portable units in the bedrooms strictly as a complimentary extra for a bit of extra breeze on warmer days. We also really appreciate your note on the street parking! It’s usually very easy to find a spot nearby as you mentioned, but we'll make sure that detail stays clear for guests with specific mobility needs. We'd love to welcome you back anytime!

The location was excellent, and the front yard was truly gorgeous. We appreciated the thoughtful amenities provided — spices, laundry detergent, and shampoo — which meant we didn’t need to purchase our own. The early check-in was a kind accommodation, though we noted that check-out remained at 10am rather than being extended to noon. One area for improvement: the listing didn’t mention until just days before our arrival that there would be construction directly behind the house and that the home lacks air conditioning. The construction itself was a non-issue, as it was quiet, but the lack of AC made it difficult to cool the house below 80 degrees on some days; fans offered some relief. The beds themselves were comfortable, though the sheets, pillows, and comforters were lower quality (microfiber and polyester-fill).

It is nice to know that you loved our fantastic location, the gorgeous front yard, and the thoughtful amenities like the spices and toiletries. It’s also great to hear the early check-in helped kick off your trip on a good note and that the nearby construction didn't end up disturbing your stay! We appreciate your notes regarding the bedding, and we'll certainly review those details. Regarding the air conditioning, we do want to gently clarify that our listing description accurately states there is no A/C in the home so future guests can plan accordingly, though we completely understand that those warmer days can still be tough! Thank you again for your constructive notes, and we hope you had a wonderful trip overall!

5 Stars – Absolute favorite La Jolla stay after three visitsWe spent 10 days here with five of us (including two preteens) and our two small dogs, and this house completely won us over. I’ve stayed in La Jolla three times now and this was by far my favorite. It has so much character and charm while still feeling comfortable and practical for a real family trip. The location is unbeatable. You’re close to everything: grocery store, restaurants, an animal hospital (handy with dogs), and the Sunday farmers market, yet the street itself stays quiet. It felt like the perfect mix of convenience and calm. The house was fully stocked with everything we needed. The kitchen especially made it easy to cook at home after long days outside, which we loved. Beds were super comfortable, and the hot tub was a nice way to wind down in the evenings. Our dogs were obsessed with the front yard and the weather—they never wanted to come inside. One note on the weather: It has been unusually warm in La Jolla this summer (2026) It normally isn't an issue to keep windows open. The owners went above and beyond and bought portable units for the bedrooms while we were there. In the main living areas we simply opened the doors and windows while it was cool and then closed everything up to trap the nice air. It worked great.Parking is street-only, but we never had trouble finding spots right out front, especially late day or early morning.A huge thank you to this wonderful family for sharing their home

Thank you for the wonderful and superb note! We are so glad that our home became your favorite La Jolla stay, especially after three visits to the area. It was a true pleasure hosting your family and your two small dogs. We’re glad the front yard was such a hit with the pets and that the kitchen, comfortable beds, and hot tub made your 10-day stay so enjoyable and convenient. We always want our guests to be as comfortable as possible, so we were more than happy to add the portable cooling units during the unusually warm weather. We’d love to welcome you and your family back anytime you’re visiting La Jolla!
