The space was cute and new, very comfortable. It is really small, so 2 people are a bit snug. The hosts were very hospitable and kind. Check in was a little more complex than it needed to be, in my opinion. We could have easily received the door codes to arrive, but it was insisted that we come at a time that worked for the host. There was also an incident in which the host entered the space after we had checked in, though were were not present at the time. I found this rather uncomfortable. The bathroom situation was really nice for outdoor facilities! You can tell they have put a lot of effort into what they have built. It was fun for a night and I felt welcomed. Overall would recommend if you’re looking for something different.

Thank you for your review. I would first like to address the entering of the space while you were out. Though we do not make this a frequent event at all. We we request that when leaving the space that the AC and vent fans be shut off. However, the unit was left running without the vent fans which caused the unit to begin to overheat. This in turn can cause the system to burn up and potentially put the unit at risk for fire. If our on site Person had not entered the unit to shut down the AC unit which was left running without the exhaust fans., it would’ve caused the possibility of damage to property as well as a safety hazard. So just in the context of that it was mandatory that we shut down the unit while you were out. Also to address the codes, as clearly written in our house rules. We meet and greet each GUEST who arrives to our property. You requested an opportunity to arrive before our set check-in time. We were unable to accommodate your request at that time however as clearly stated in our house rules we personally meet and greet each guest in order to personally show them the unit and instruct them on use of the facilities. We do not offer, as stated in our house rules, contactless checkin. Again I do want to apologise that you were made uncomfortable by our on-site person entering the unit while you were out. However, the preservation of our property is a priority as is the safety of the guests.

This is the cutest travel trailer. Well decorated and very clean. We were surprised by the location - it is in someone's back yard, in an area that they have fenced in with a tall wooden fence and hung string lights. The neighborhood at first appeared sketchy, but we felt very safe once we settled in. It's about 8 minutes from the action in Savannah. There are two travel trailers. They are very close together. We were the only guests that weekend, but I think we would have been uncomfortable sharing the small common area outside and the shared toilet and shared shower with another couple. The listing describes the bed as a small queen. That's an overstatement. More like a twin that is boardering on a full size mattress.Nevertheless, my wife and I had a great time and will never forget our stay.

Thank you, we appreciate your review. Our community is quite nice, being within 2 min walking distance of Wholefoods, Cava, Aldi and others. Those brand chains tend to exist only in areas that are refined. I n addition the yard entrance is monitored 24/7 by cctv. For further security the yard is also well lit throughout the evening hours. This is done to help further provide a secure area, that is also free of smoking and other activities that are Against our House Rules. Our space offers a unique experience unlike a typical hotel room. Portions of our experience are indeed outdoors. As clearly shown in our profile. Hotels also have common areas such as pools, lobbies and hallways which are typically shared with other guests. The common area (yard) is shared and is not exclusive to any one person(s) staying on our property. A guest is booking the private camper unit, not the entire yard. Our space and sleeping arrangement is best suited for single travelers, though the unit can accommodate a couple. Its configuration as a camper and not a room, would clearly suggest that close quarters should be expected.

Hi I'm Megan. I am originally from the west-coast but am now in historical Savannah Georgia.

Why they chose this property

Only a three minute walk to popular restaurants and stores. Also just a three minute walk to the famous Savannah Bananas Stadium. During Summer months the Bananas put on a Fireworks display which can be viewed from the Cove also!

What makes this property unique

Mermaid Cove is a fully enclosed, Florida-style tropical getaway in a quiet neighborhood in historical Old Savannah, Georgia. The yard is approximately 884 square feet.

A tropical adventure awaits in this unique themed experience—why stay somewhere boring? Our renovated 1960s-era travel trailers are fully furnished, making them an excellent retreat for a single traveler or a couple.

Utilities and a weekly cleaning fee are included in the price.

The location is within a 2 to 3-minute walk of several restaurants, shops, and grocery stores. These include Aldi (2 min), Whole Foods (3 min), IHOP (2 min), Dave’s Hot Chicken (2 min), Target (5 min), Cava (3 min), Chase Bank (2 min), and Bank of America (6 min). Daffin Park, home of the popular Savannah Bananas Baseball team, and other attractions are within a 4-minute walk.

We are also located near the seaside, only a 12-minute drive to Tybee Island, our local beach, and an 8-minute drive (or 12-minute bike ride) to the heart of Savannah's Historic District. The area is very bike-friendly.

Our space is designed for solo travelers and to accommodate those who may have allergies; therefore, we do not allow pets. It is very comfortable for singles and couples, but please note there is not enough space to accommodate families.

The average price of a hotel room in Savannah is approximately $203–$204 per night. Rates vary by season and location, typically ranging from $150 to $300. Budget-friendly 2-star hotels average $111, while 4-star hotels in the Historic District average around $293–$335 per night.
