Tiny Cottage 537: Renovated Studio In Historic District Owner

Bedrooms 1
Space 300 sq ft
Property type studio
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

Adorable, Authentic 1872 Cottage Studio Apartment

Tiny Cottage 537 has it all! Private laundry, a kitchen, comfortable Queen bed and most importantly an authentic Savannah historic district home in a great walkable location!

You can easily walk to Clary's Cafe or Firefly Cafe both are barely 2 blocks from the home. There are literally hundreds of other restaurants within 0.5 to 1 mile of this address!

Part of a historic railroad worker's cottage 'triplex' compound (this is not near active train tracks don't worry) this cottage has a shared yard space with walkway to Jones Street. There is no shared interior space in this rental, so you will have plenty of privacy.

This is a great spot for someone without a car. If you have a car, parking for this cottage is free on the street (Jones Street). This location is half a mile from the Riverfront.

I may be able to reduce fees paid if you pay in one lump sum.

About Mary Anderson

I'm Mary and I have lived in Savannah since 2002. I love it here! I am a work-at-home mother of 3 small kids. I am a licensed real estate agent which is something I really enjoy.

Mary Anderson purchased this studio in 2015

Why Mary Anderson chose Beach Institute

I chose Savannah because of the big city feel of the events and tourist traffic combined with a small town sense of knowing people everywhere I go. I love the beauty of the relatively tiny one-square mile walkable downtown Historic District area. I love the familiarity of everything here combined with the constant influx of new energy from the college and the visitors from all over the world.

What makes this studio unique

I have never seen anything quite like this Historic District cottage compound! What a great opportunity to help me meet the housing needs for the 12 million tourists + executive housing phone calls I get daily. And since I used to live on the same block I knew first hand this was a great location. I get calls every day from people who do not need a lot of space and want convenient lodging in the Historic District with a low price. This is it!

Cute Cottage

  • 4 of 5

The cottage was very cute and within walking distance of everything in Savannah. The down side was the bed. It was thin and as hard as a rock. Neither of us slept for 3 nights. For this reason we would not rent this cottage again.

Owner's Response: After hosting thousands of vacation guests in over 75 homes I have learned that opinions vary greatly regarding mattresses and what constitutes great comfort. This memory foam type is the one that pleases the most people most of the time and is what I sleep on at home and is what I use in many of the rentals. I actually get messages every week from guests asking me for the details on this type of mattress because they want to buy one after sleeping so well. It is very rare that anyone complains about this type. I get far more complaints from the homes with traditional spring mattresses. There is no mattress out there to suit every single person. This is a Zinus brand "night therapy" memory foam mattress on a firm wooden platform base.

Cute and extremely comfortable. Would definitely recommend.

Had a great time. Perfectly located and certainly would stay again. Only have two small complaints. The toilet paper is cheap. I feel that there should be a better quality and the connection for the tv was terrible. Obviously we weren’t there to watch tv, so not too terribly inconvenient, but annoying nonetheless. Other than those minor things it was great! Was able to walk anywhere we wanted and had an absolutely amazing stay!

Great little cottage, loved being in the historic district! Can walk almost everywhere and a short drive to Tybee. Had a great time and nice to have a washer/dryer too! Only regret is I couldn't stay longer!
