I was appalled at how filthy the property was upon my arrival. The kitchen was absolutely disgusting to the point we had to purchase cleaning supplies and immediately deep clean the kitchen. There was leftover food on the counter, the refrigerator was filled with open food, the refrigerator was incredibly dirty, the freezer was filthy, the sink had gnats in it, the countertops had not been cleaned and had juice spilled all over them and the cabinets, the floor had not been swept or mopped and was dirty, and there were cobwebs throughout the house including in the kitchen by the sink. As if the dirty kitchen was not bad enough, there was cat hair caked on and embedded into all of the furniture and the curtains in the front bedroom. We had to get laundry supplies to wash and sanitize all of the linens. The larger linens would not fit into the washer so we had to purchase our own. Being a pet friendly property is great, but it is expected that extra care will be taken to clean the property and remove pet hair. There were bugs and spiders in the house, the lawn was overgrown and unkept, and there were no blinds on the windows which posed a major privacy concern. If it had not been for the fact that I had no other options for lodging, I would not have stayed at the property due to how utterly filthy it was.

I hate to hear that your stay was not as you expected; however, some of these comments are blatantly untrue. I had been in the house the day before, and as I always do, the whole house was cleaned. New linens are always put on before the next guests arraive, and towels are always washed. As I explained on the phone, the items in the refrigerator are for guests. I leave condiments in the door for guests to use as well as coffee creamer, sugar, coffee, and various snacks.
The one container of food on the counter was my fault. I meant to take it out to the garbage can and forget. But the house was not filthy in any way. Floors and furniture are always vacuumed, and I even finish my routine with a spray of Lysol on surfaces.
I don't understand the purchasing of cleaning supplies or laundry material since all of those things are provided for guests.
There are no blinds on the windows, but there are curtains covering them.
We spoke on the phone about the items in the frig, but none of these other issues came up. If indeed the house was not up to your standards, I would have preferred to deal with it up front. I would have returned your money so you could have found other lodgings in town. However, this is the first mention of any real problems.
Everything was just as described. The rooms were clean and the property was simple to access. There were also thoughtful touches like snacks and carpet cleaner if needed. Sharon was easy to communicate with and on top of things.
