This location is paramount. Seclusion, private sandy beach on Portage Lake, Lake Michigan beaches, private dock for your boat. This is a wonderful cottage secluded at the end of a wooded peninsula that separates Lake Michigan from Portage Lake. Build a campfire on either beach. From your cottage you can watch the sun rise looking 3 miles east across Portage Lake or turn to the west and watch the sun set over Lake Michigan. The main level of the home has the kitchen, dining room table, and living room. The living has a HD TV with cable service, and a gas fireplace. The home has a laundry room with washer & dryer. There is also cable internet with wi-fi. The master bedroom, is also on the main level, and has a king bed, full bath, HD TV, and a window a/c. Upstairs is 3 more bedrooms, two with queen beds, and the third with 3 twin beds. Upstairs also has another full bath and a futon in the hallway.

This location lends itself to all sorts of outdoor activities. Biking, walking, and jogging., boating, water skiing, fishing, jet skiing, and sailing. Canoeing and tubing local rivers. Fishing Portage Lake for all the fresh water game fish. Charter fishing available for Salmon and Trout on the big lake and world class local Trout and Salmon streams. There is kayak and paddleboard rentals, charter fishing guide, and sailboat charters just a block away at the Portage Point Inn & Marina. Take a day trip traveling up the coastline on M22, one of the most scenic drives in America, to the quaint villages along the route offering unique shopping opportunities. This is a great time to visit the many vineyards and wine chateaus, along with orchards and fruit stands. This is also a great time to visit and photograph several lighthouses. Championship golf courses are within a few minutes of your cottage, most notable are Arcadia Bluffs, The Heathlands, Manistee National, Bear Lake County Highlands, and Manistee Golf and Country Club. You can go horseback riding for all levels, adults and children, at the Rock 'n' R stables 20 minutes from the home. Your family might consider a lazy float down the Platte River with transportation and tubes provided by Riverside Rentals. Canoe and kayak rentals and trips are also available on many of the rivers in the area. Ask me for details. The village of Onekama, on the opposite side of Portage Lake from this cottage, has some wonderful shops and restaurants. The beautiful Little River Casino is ten miles away and provides gambling and entertainment.

CANCELATION 91 DAYS or MORE before check-in, Renters will receive a full refund of their deposit minus a credit card processing fee of 3.5%.
