About this property

The Laylow · Beech Mtn · Sauna · Hot Tub · Arcade

Small resort-town neighborhood with a mix of year-round and vacation homes; quiet, wooded lots and mountain views. Close to Beech Mountain Resort (ski runs, lifts, summer bike park), short drive to Banner Elk for dining/grocery/shops, and within easy access to regional attractions (Grandfather Mountain, Blue Ridge Parkway, Linville Falls). Seasonal events and short-term rental activity are common; expect visitors, shuttles, and peak-season traffic on weekends and holidays.

Car is the primary mode—local roads are steep, curvy, and can be icy in winter; 4WD or chains may be advisable in winter storms. The area is not served by local fixed-route public transit; some ski-resort and event shuttles operate seasonally between Beech Mountain, Banner Elk, and nearby ski areas. Rideshare coverage (Uber/Lyft) is limited and may be unreliable—pre-arranged local taxi or shuttle is recommended for arrivals/departures. Walking is possible for short distances near the resort but most errands require a vehicle.

We had a wonderful trip and the kiddos thoroughly enjoyed the tent and the chairlift swing. We greatly appreciate all of the thought that went into making this an awesome retreat. The owners were very quick to respond and helpful when I accidentally left my phone and charger in the home after checkout. Greatly appreciate them allowing us to get back in.

Great experience in a great home from start to finish. The photos in the listing almost seemed too good to be true, but everything was exactly as expected! All the special amenities were a wonderful touch, everything was in great working order. The house is very efficiently designed to pack a lot in a modest space. Every room is well appointed and the beds were comfy. We had great fall foliage views from the hot tub, lots of deer passing through the yard, streaming on the big screen projector, and evenings making s'mores under the stars!Very happy with the location, lots to do local in Beech Mountain and a very reasonably drive into Banner Elk. Would be very interested to stay here again for ski season if we're back in the area!
