Jeff and Jennifer Maier purchased this barn in 2005
We rented the Cedar Valley Lodge for a family gathering. There were 19 of us (4 generations including 2 toddlers) and we couldn't have been happier with the accommodations. The barn is very upscale and well appointed. We spent many hours sitting out on the huge deck as well as playing games in the separate 'cigar room' which was nice so that great-grandma could sleep while we made noise in the separate building. We golfed nearby, some visited Taliesin, and others went to House on the Rock. Many of us hiked through the valley and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. All in all a great place to visit and relax!
Cedar Valley is just seven miles from Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin. The American Player's Theater is just under 10 miles. This is an outdoor amphitheater that features plays by Shakespeare. The beautiful Wisconsin River is about 8 miles. Here you can sunbath on the huge sandbar, swim, or fish. There are also facilities where you can rent canoes, kayaks, or tubes to take down the river. Governor Dodge State Park is about 15 miles. There you can choose from horseback riding, hiking, swimming, fishing, and renting a paddle boat.
