Overview

About the property

Experience Nature At Its Best, Without Giving Up Comfortable Amenities

Come relax and let all your worries float away as you relax on a private deck while listening to a babbling creek. Warm your toes with a crackling fire, as you watch the sun slowly dip behind the mountains.

Keep your eyes keenly attentive to the many opportunities to see wildlife at its best. It is very common as you pour your first cup of coffee, to see a bald eagle perched in a tree across the creek. Nearby a deer is going about it's daily activities unaware of your presence, and trout finding its first meal of the day in the clear water just off the edge of the bank.

This cottage features a fully equipped kitchen with many on hand ingredients ready to whip up your favorite meal. Comfortable living room with a leather sleeper sofa, large flat screen T.V., as well as a gas wood stove to take the chill out of those chilly nights. A cozy bedroom with a queen size bed, nice size bath with freshly washed towels and linens.

Attractions: Centrally located to many interests, Finger Lakes Wineries, Breweries, High class restaurants, Trout fishing, Hiking, and endless amount of state land for hiking and bird watching. There is also two kayaks/ life jackets, and fishing gear available to make your stay that much more enjoyable.

Why Nate and Tara Potter chose Owego

This home is perfectly situated to enjoy wildlife, as well as swimming, fishing, kayaking, hiking, shopping, and many more activities.

What makes this cottage unique

When we first saw the natural beauty of the surrounding area, it was love at first sight! It has been said, we have the nicest view of Owego Creek, and we would have to agree. The sounds of nature, and the creek, have a nice calming effect. You will enjoy it as much as we do!

Beautiful and Peaceful

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful cottage and a great place to visit! My husband and I had a blast hiking, visiting wineries and distilleries, and touring the Corning Museum of Glass. There is so much to do in the area. Driving through the region is a delight. Top it all off with peaceful, relaxing evenings spent in the Potter's lovely cottage and this trip was perfect recharge we were looking for. We hope to visit again soon.

We had a lovely time!

  • 4 of 5

This property is very quaint and cozy, and everything is clean and well-finished. We enjoyed sitting by the fire next to the creek and playing tennis in town on the courts at the local high school. There is a friendly neighborhood dog who came to visit and he was very sweet. Our only small disappointment was that the listing mentions and shows an outdoor grill, but does not mention that propane is not provided. We weren't going to buy a whole tank of propane for a 2-night stay, especially when we realized it was out on our first night. But overall it wasn't a big deal because the kitchen is fully stocked. We loved our stay, thanks so much for having us!

All we expected and more! Very clean and comfy.

Being close to Ithaca and all the parks really convenient. All the kitchen gadgets let us make meals in house and spent more time in cottage rather than running to restaurants. Great stay!

very relaxing.

  • 5 of 5

we loved our stay here. the creek and the birds were so sweet to listen too sitting out on the deck. The Potters had left a bottle of wine for us and they had all kinds of various condiments, etc. to try. we were only there a few days but if we are ever back in the neighborhood we will try to stay again.

The property was exactly as described and very well thought out for the rental community!

Tara and Nate gave us a seemless experience. Their property was well appointed and in a great location. In an area where there aren't a lot of rental options, I was pleasantly surprised. The location was great and we really felt like we were able to "get away from it all". Getting in and settled was quick and easy. The kitchen had everything you'd need for an extended stay and there were two kayaks to use on the creek. I'd highly recommend this property and plan to stay there whenever it's available and I am in town!
