Would Totally Stay Again!
We had family from Eastern Washington and Eastern Montana meet up here at this cute little house for a family weekend. The house was very clean and super adorable in a nice secluded little cul-de-sac area! I highly recommend this place if you have a dog - there is a HUGE beautiful fenced yard and the river is just a short walk away. Off the back door there is a covered deck with a lovely view, it was awesome to sit there and have coffee each morning. Lolo is a low key smaller town where I felt safe to go for an early morning run, and there is a paved running/biking trail about a mile away. Missoula is just a short drive away for shopping and entertainment. Tara was always easy to get a hold of via email for any questions I had. Overall, we had a great stay and would not hesitate to stay again.
Had everything we needed
Great place for a family get together. Plenty of room and nice backyard. The basement bedrooms were little on the cool side but that might be nice in the summer. I would definitely stay there again.
The house was great for our family to get together for Christmas and New Years. We will be back. It is right down the street from our daughters house.
Beautiful, peaceful setting close to Hwy 93 and a short drive to Missoula.
This is the 3rd time we've stayed at the Lolo house and will stay again when in the area. Very comfortable home, tucked into a private neighborhood that offers convenience and relaxation. Well stocked kitchen, ample supplies and always clean. Working with Tara to reserve has been a pleasure - quick response and helpful. Definitely recommend the place.
My 2 sisters and our husbands came to Lolo to take care of some family business. This was a great place for the 6 of us. It gave us room to gather together but enough space to have privacy when we needed it.
Tara was easy to deal with and responded to our questions and needs.
Would definitely stay again!
Terrible Experience with Owner
The property itself was nice, but the experience with the owner was (and looks like it will continue to be) terrible. First, some background on us: We are 5 guys in our 50's who went to Montana to fish. It was really hot out so we were leaving the cabin by 5:30AM and going to bed by 11:00PM. In other words, we're not the kind of people who have parties or wreck things.
Upon arriving at the cabin there were several beer cans and other things on the porch. The next day the neighbor, who was upset that his retirement home was right next to a VRBO, came by to berate us about having to clean up all the beer cans we left around the property. We said we had just arrived and so it must have been the previous renters. Upon taking the trash out to the garage, we discovered that there was a pile of trash bags in the garage (40 or more bags). No problem... I let the owner know and then we hauled it to the end of the street on trash day. Then when returning we picked up the trash that had spilled out of the bags when the collectors picked up the trash. On day 3 we discovered that a pile of wet towels were left in the washer. No problem... we washed them several times to get the mildew out. Then the grill was filthy. No problem.. it took us 30 minutes of cleaning just so it wouldn't start a grease fire upon lighting the grill. In front of the dishwasher and sink, the hardwood floors were cupped/warped from where a leak had clearly taken place. I mention these things only to let you know that the place had not been well looked after. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our stay and checked out on the 22nd of July. Now, on August 3rd, I receive an email from the owner mentioning all kinds of damage that was allegedly done to the unit during our stay. I checked with each person and they all agreed that none of the items mentioned occurred while we were there. Now the owner is saying she is sending me an invoice... for a NEW REFRIGERATOR among other things! Why did it take the cleaners 11 days to discover all of this damage? In any case, I will dispute the invoice AND go to court if need be, but let this be a warning to other renters that this is a very shady outfit. I've rented through VRBO and other sites 5 or 6 times in both Canada and the US and never had an issue like this. We left that place in better condition than when we arrived. I'm literally shocked that I find myself in this position where I'm being threatened with an invoice for damage.
The guests did mention that garbage was not taken out from the previous tenants and the cleaner said she went back to make sure it was all cleaned up and the tenants had already moved it to the road. The other cleaning issues were never brought to my attention nor have we had any other complaints in the past. We are a property management company, and not the owner. The cleaner took time-stamped photos of the damage done to the house the day after them guests left which included a broken picture, something that had been spilled on the hardwood floors and removed the stain, and a significant dent on the inside of the refrigerator. We were hoping that the fridge would continue to work while trying to see if we could get someone to resurface it and found out with our next guests that it wasn't keeping consistently cool. The email was sent after we had done our research as to our options with the fridge but the photos were time stamped for the day after these guests left. The cleaner will be talked to about the other issues brought up in the review as it is the first we had heard of them.
