Romantic ocean-front property on the Pacific shoreline of El Salvador. Great surf-two right point breaks, good beach break right in front of the house. The house is brand new construction with swimming pool, two- ocean view rooms with private bathrooms and private kitchen. The views are spectacular! The people very friendly! There is one full size bed in each room and room for a small single bed for additional adult or child. The caretakers, which live on the property, will take care of your cooking (optional) and cleaning. They will also serve as a guide in the local area. The beach in front of the house is right down the steps and is very private. Sandy bottom and the water temperature is 81 degrees all year long. The swimming, surfing and fishing are great. Lots of hammocks! Great for a family with children, a romantic getaway for the two of you, or a small group of surfing buddies. Very safe and friendly fishing village. It is considered the best beach in El Salvador. You do not need a rental car if you do not want to travel. Airport pickup and delivery can be arranged. Once you are here. All of your needs will be met.
I am a dentist from Texas who has a non-profit organization, LDC, Inc., for supporting charitable dental missions to El Salvador. I have completely fallen in love with El Cuco and it's people. We bought the property and built the home from the ground up and finished in 2012. We are very proud of the house; fulfilling a lifetime dream of owning beachfront property in front of good surf. This is how I have chosen to spend my 'golden years.' All proceeds from the rental of the house will go towards the LDC mission.

I spent a half-week vacation last week at this property. My goal was to visit a new country, improve my surfing, and relax in a quiet environment. This house ticked all those boxes. Most of the El Salvador beach houses you see on these sites are located in El Salvador's west coast, closer to San Salvador. El Cuco is located about two hours away from the airport in the quieter east coast of the country.
El Cuco/Los Flores is an interesting area. El Cuco refers to a small town of a few thousand people, with a large beach, full of beachside bars and restaurants. It's a beach town for tourists--albeit local ones. On the other side of this house is Los Flores, one of El Salvador's most famous surf breaks. By contrast, this beach is sparsely populated by just a few surfing hotels and a few houses, such as this one. This area--and this house--have what I would say is a simple, natural luxury. That is, the area isn't fancy, and this house isn't fancy--but the natural beauty and amenities make it luxurious.
The house was well appointed but basic--two bedrooms, two bathrooms, with a kitchen in the middle. The living and dining area are outside in the courtyard, with a small pool, which is where I spent most of my time when not on the beach. The house is maintained by a very sweet family, who took care of all of my needs: cooking, cleaning, groundskeeping--and even surf instruction!
And surf is one of the main reasons to come here. I came to work on my surfing, and wasn't disappointed. You'll find great consistent waves at Los Flores, and smaller more beginner-friendly waves right out in front. I surfed twice a day, with the instruction and help of Alceidas, the friendly groundskeeper. His sister and mother kept me well fed with fresh cooking three times a day.
My day consisted of waking up with some fresh local coffee, a little swim in the pool, and then surfing on the beach before 8:00. I'd come back for breakfast, then chill out reading around the pool or in a hammock until lunch. After lunch, I'd usually walk one of the long beaches, come back swim a little more, then go surfing late in the afternoon. In the evenings, after dinner, I usually retired pretty early to bed.
El Salvador is a beautiful country with friendly people. El Cuco is a great beach with dramatic scenery and great waves. This house makes a great base to just relax, surf, and enjoy what the location has to offer.
