The location of the house is amazing, right on the beach. The beds are very comfortable, and the bedrooms and bathrooms were pretty clean. The house smelled musty, though, and nothing air dried when hung, which told us the a/c units weren't dehumidfying the house well. The front door and back door were hard to lock—they need a keypad instead. We were also given the wrong key upon check in. Big issue: there is a hole in the floor next to the master bed covered only by a very thin layer of flooring. Too easy to trip on, big safety hazard.The house needs a lot of updating. The kitchen was dirty and run down. The fridge water dispenser is caked in limescale and mold. The master toilet and bathroom are shared between two bedrooms and open to the kitchen/living room for guests. The pocket doors for the toilet room don't slide well and don't lock, so there is no privacy. The dryer is ancient and took two hours to dry anything fully. The living room lights don't dim properly, and the house has power surges. The outdoor shower hose is held together with tape. Overall, it felt like they don't honor the fact that customers are paying thousands to stay there, and a lot could be improved to make the house clean, convenient, and updated.

We appreciate you bringing these concerns to our attention, as guest feedback helps us identify areas where we can make improvements. The owner is currently working with a flooring company to investigate the dip in the flooring near the master bedroom and determine the best way to address it. We’ve also made a change to our cleaning team to help provide a fresher, more enjoyable experience for future guests, and the outdoor shower hose has been replaced. We understand how important cleanliness, comfort, and the overall condition of a home are when choosing a vacation rental, and we appreciate the opportunity to continue making improvements. Perfect location and the house was great! The bed was comfortable. The shower was awesome! The kitchen large enough to cook in. It was a great stay! I would stay here again.

Most Relaxing Vacation Ever!

It was the perfect stay! House was so clean and the views were incredible! Ease of check in and check out was definitely a plus. Loved the screened in porch and such an easy walk to the beach. Can’t wait to come back again. Love this sweet beach home. We had everything we needed.

An amazing place with an amazing view!

The Seahorse Haven was just an incredible place to stay, just steps away from the beach! The views from the porch were inspiring and very colorful as the sun set each night. A wonderful place to relax, walk on the beach, and decompress! I highly recommend Seahorse Haven! I'll be back soon!

I will echo what everyone else said, this is much bigger than it looks and was comfortable for our group that utilized all four bedrooms. The porch is a show-stopper and the rooms are all comfortably appointed. Everything you need in the kitchen is provided and, as always, the management company is extremely responsive and helpful.

Great vacation rental in Cape San Blas!

Reviewer Comments: Overall wonderful vacation rental!Biggest drawback is the extremely poor internet...typical download speed (when you could connect) was 2 Mbps...much too slow for most websites to connect. This is compounded by lack of cell phone coverage (at least for our ATT and Tmobile phones). If you need to connect for anything, or expect to stream music...this will be an ongoing challenge for you. As much as we loved the house and location...this will probably keep us from renting again unless I have my own alternative means of connecting in the future.

Adorable Beach Front Home!

It was so roomy, clean and beautifully decorated. This house was absolutely perfect for smaller families. The screened in back porch was the perfect hangout to unwind after a long day at the beach. This house is just steps from the ocean on a quiet section of the beach! Our two dogs had such a wonderful time and there weren't too many stairs for our older dog to try and climb. We will definitely be back to Seahorse Haven on our next visit to Cape San Blas!!

Two weeks At Christmas

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The porch was great and the location was wonderful.However, this home needs all new bed pillows and a deep cleaning. There are intricate art panels above the master bed that have lots of caked on dust in all the crevices, the ceiling fan is so dusty that we could not use it. All the window blinds in the entire house are covered in dust, and the lampshades need either cleaning or replacement. Also, the homeowner has accrued so many decorative items that were displayed on all the tables, dressers, and counters. We ended up collecting many of them and putting them carefully in a closet so we could use the space during our visit without fear of damaging their items. Perhaps these items could be brought out when the homeowners are there, but renters don’t want to damage items and also need cleared space. At this price point, we expected a clean home. Maybe it’s time to hire new cleaners?

The kitchen was as well stocked as any house we have ever stayed at in the 28 years we have been comming to Cape San wife is not very mobile and the boardwalk to the beach was great for her, and the screened porch is a wonderful asset. Overall the house is great. Mow the downside. The drive needs some work-it is very rough, and a big bump entering the concrete parking slab. The only toilet area downstairs as two pocket doors. One does not work at all and one is very hard to operate. Looks to me that swing doors would be fine in these locations. If the items were corrected the house would be perfect.

We arrived at this property at 8 p.m. on a Saturday and immediately noticed serious issues. Entire ceilings in the bathrooms, closets, and laundry room were covered in mold, with additional large patches (some larger than a basketball) in other areas of the home. Paint was peeling from the entire master toilet room, suggesting long-term water intrusion. A strong musty odor was present, and there was evidence of cockroach activity in the kitchen.I reported the problems right away through text, VRBO messaging, and phone, but did not receive a response until noon the following day when the office opened. During that time, my family began experiencing symptoms such as headaches and nausea, which we associated with the musty environment.When I finally reached the property manager, the explanation was that the house was old and located in a difficult climate, which came across as dismissive rather than apologetic. The alternative home offered was significantly inferior, lacking beachfront views and privacy, and was not comparable to what was advertised. Only after I declined this option did they eventually promise a refund.Basic hospitality was also lacking — the only toiletries provided were a collection of old hotel soaps, and there were no beach towels or shampoo.The property conditions created clear health and safety concerns, the response was slow and unhelpful, and the resolution did not reflect the standard of service or accommodation that was promised. Upon receiving the report, we responded as soon as our office opened the following morning. After investigating the report, we determined that the issue was due to a leak in the AC line, which caused excess moisture and mildew in some areas of the home. The owner has since completed repairs to resolve the source of the problem, and we’ve taken steps to ensure the home is safe, clean, and comfortable for future guests. We did offer an alternative property that, while not beachfront, was larger, featured a private pool, and maintained a high standard of comfort and cleanliness. This offer was made in line with our standard policy; to provide a replacement home or a full refund. The guest chose to view the alternative home, and when they decided it wasn't the right fit, we provided a full refund without hesitation, and did not charge them for the day/night that they did stay in the home.

A perfect stay!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family had a perfect week at Seahorse Haven. The house was everything we needed: spacious rooms with a practical, usable layout. The kitchen was well-stocked with plenty of storage containers, handheld appliances, dishes/glasses, and even an empty cabinet to store our groceries! The whimsical decor added to the vacation feel--lots of care was spent decorating/supplying this home. The screened porch, however, was gold. It was quite roomy with plentiful, sturdy, and comfortable furnishings. We spent much time in this space. Other plusses: we loved the location on the beach (easy access & not crowded), the space under the house with a full shower, and another comfortable seating area. This was our first time using Coastal Joe Rentals, and I will definitely use them again. Every contact with them was friendly, helpful, and professional. They went out of their way to ensure we had a perfect stay on Cape San Blas.

Cozy, inviting home on the Gulf Front

We stayed on the main floor & didn't even need the upstairs. The porch is welcoming with furniture to hang out & that's where we spent most our time when not on the beach. The kitchen is well stocked, comfy beds, & fluffy towels. Our only issue is with the lack of basic essentials supplied by the management company. No kitchen garbage bags (other than the 1 in the can) & no note that we needed to bring more. 1 pack of powder dishwasher detergent was provided. Upon arrival the dishes were so dirty I had to hand wash everything we planned on using. Then each time I used the dishwasher, the same outcome occurred - dirty dishes. Never could figure out if the dishwasher prefers liquid or what? Either way, skimping on dish detergent isn't something you want to do to ensure sanitation & safety for future guests. Also, the lack of hand soap at each sink? Suggest - ditch the bag/cup offering & spend that $ on soaps. Other than that, yes we'd stay here again :-)

As other have said this house is larger than it looks and the porch is the best feature. We spent the majority of our time on the porch. If you are traveling with more than two couples, the only drawback is only one full bath on the lower level, so you have to share the bath. We will definately be back for another quick get away!! Thank you Seahorse Haven for a great stay!!
