Luis and I are long-time cottagers in the area. We live in Toronto during the week where Laura is a librarian and Luis a film-maker. On weekends we head north to our cottage whenever possible and love the life style that it offers.
Luis Garcia purchased this cottage in 2011
Our cottage is large with amazing light and living space, while being homey and comfortable. Laura loves to cook and was able to design her dream kitchen here. During cold weather, we have two fire options, one on each floor (wood stove and fireplace). In summer, we love the lake water, which is spring fed and so very clean for swimming; the quiet and privacy of only having 8 other residences on the lake; and the proximity to Huntsville for shopping, services, and entertainment, whenever we can pull ourselves away from the cottage.
My husband and I stayed here for a month from mid April to Mid May 2016 while we were looking for a home to buy in the area. The cottage was perfect for us. Luis and Laura kept us well informed about things we needed to know including internet access and rural garbage rules. The cottage is well equipped with great quality linens and kitchen utensils. Every gadget I needed for cooking was here, in excellent condition. The lake and surrounding area are beautiful to enjoy and the next door trails for walking provided lovely views. There is a small grocery store 10 minutes from the cottage and we enjoyed exploring Huntsville, about twenty minutes away. My favourite moments were spent enjoying the early day sun at the front window of the cottage when the sun hit the lake and the late evening moments in the Muskoka room listening to the spring peepers. Thank you Luis and Laura for leaving your home spotless for us. We hope to return again one day and will recommend this cottage to our friends and family.
My husband, toddler son, chocolate lab Jake and I opted for a winter vacation this year. We couldn't be happier with our choice of accommodations! This cottage has all of the comforts of home and more!
The cottage was spotless! It is very spacious, warm and inviting. Between the 2 floors, it could comfortably hold 2 families. We stayed in the lower level, cozy tv room was a bonus! My son was a huge fan of the jetted tub! We spent a lot of time outside and enjoyed fetching fresh spring water daily, best I've ever tasted!
Luis was very easy to communicate with and quick to respond to any & all questions I had.
I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a great place to stay!
Thanks again Luis & family for letting us stay at your cottage, it truly felt like home!
We enjoyed this cottage very much. It was spacious, clean, beautifully decorated, and has everything we needed in the house. We particularly enjoyed the breakfast area which faces a beautiful and quite lake. We enjoyed the canoeing and kayaking duirng the day. It was not far from Huntsville and Algonguin so it is very convenient for grocery shopping, sightseeing and hiking. We definitely will come back in the near future. Thanks Luis for your hospitality to make us feel like home!
My whole family stayed at this gorgeous home for a week, and we were beyond happy with the entire experience! From start to finish Luis was very quick to respond to any inquiries or concerns we had within hours, he was very accommodating and kind. The house itself looked better in real life than in the pictures! We took full advantage of the Screened in Muskoka room, where we could escape the Mosquitos at their witching hour, without having to leave the beautiful lake view and warm summer nights. The cottage was equipped with everything we need and the thoughtful details did not go unnoticed. We took full advantage of the two kayaks , paddle boat and canoe, and were very happy to have the free use of the boats during our stay. We also caught many small mouth bass with little effort, you can actually see the fish jumping right out of the water, often. I highly recommend this home/cottage and would rent again in a heartbeat.
Spent a wonderful winter long weekend at this gorgeous cottage with friends. While the temperature outside hovered around -30, we were warm and cozy inside, curled up in front of the fireplace and great big windows that let in a ton of beautiful natural sunlight. When the weather was a bit more friendly, we enjoyed a visit to nearby Arrowhead Park for skiing, snow tubing and skating. Amazing cottage - comfortable beds, very clean, great kitchen, great set-up for a relaxing visit and socializing. We will be back!! The owners were also wonderful to work with. Thank you!!
Spent 3 wonderful nights with my wife in this above average cottage. It had everything we could possible imagine plus an amazing kitchen with all the luxuries of home. Even being there in the late fall, the warmth from the 2 wood fireplaces made it very cozy. Luis was wonderful to deal with and we look forward to returning again very soon.
Cottage is located very close to the Seguin Trail.
