About the property

Single family home, 4 king master bedrooms, 2 porches & roof top terrace

My gorgeous house with everything you need to enjoy a few days in Nashville! But the best part - Only mins to downtown! Only about an $6 Uber or Lyft ride to the entertainment district!

SORRY. No Bachelor or Bachelorette Parties!!!

Has 4 King Master Retreats, 3 of the Retreats have wet-bars with mini fridge and dining areas and all have sitting areas and 42' Flat Screen TV's. Each bedroom has its own bath!!

Living room has a sleeper sofa (memory foam!)

2 covered porches and also a roof top terrace with a great view of the downtown skyline especially at night!!

To get downtown, you have many choices:

- Walk 2 blocks to the Music City Circuit stop (free downtown bus service from 6AM - 6PM)

- Take a 25 minute walk (My favorite! Along the way browse Farmers Market, then checkout Bicentennial park, then take the capital steps up to the State capital building(check out the view!), then on to War Memorial Plaza and your downtown! Just a short walk down Church St to the entertainment district, and you have to walk out on the pedestrian bridge over the Cumberland River just for the view of Nashville!!

- Take a $6 Lift or Uber ride (Second best choice!!)

- Less than 2 mile drive ( but parking will cost you..especially on the busy weekends!)

Great restaurants nearby:

About Richard Goddard

I will do my best to provide a great place to stay while you are in Nashville! I am a single Dad with 2 great kids off to college! I built this home last year and love living near downtown Nashville. I am an avid walker and most weeks put in 15 to 20 miles just walking from my home to the Historical Germantown area, Bicentennial Mall State Park, Farmers Market, State Capital, Legislative Plaza, TPAC, then on to Lower Broad, 2nd Ave, and Riverfront park where all the honky tonks are located! That total distance is just a little over 2 miles each way.

I was in the USAF and Tennessee Air Guard for 13 years where i was a navigator on C-130's. After my military life i became a General Contractor and started my own business. After being in the country for so long i decided to try the city life. I bought a vacant lot in this historical overlay district and loved it. I do love this neighborhood.

I also love to hike the mountains! I have summed 3 12,000 foot peaks in the Rockies and last summer my son and I summed 14,254 foot Long's Peak in Rocky Mountain National Park. I must admit - it kicked my ass ... but wow!... what a view! Leaves no doubt there is a God! I also love to kayak and travel. But the best times are with the kids. We love to play strategy board games..Settlers of Catan, Acquire, and Cashflow. I love Axis and Allies, but its hard to get them to play that! I also play in a Texas holdem Poker League...for points...not for cash!

UPDATE: That's my first grandbaby...Walt....Born 19 November 2012!!

Why Richard Goddard chose Downtown

No Taxes..No Cleaning Fees..No Deposit.

But take care of my home!!!

A Review from Seasoned Travelers with Discerning Tastes

  • 5 of 5

Our 8-person group (all in our 70s) have been getting together annually for the past 26 years. We were college classmates in the early 1960s. We have stayed in many locations all over the country. This house is by far the best we've ever stayed at. It is beautifully decorated and has many, many unexpected amenities that makes staying here comfortable. It has everything we look for when we plan our get-togethers: privacy (individual suites); comfort (clean furniture in un-cluttered rooms); gathering area (space for dining, games & conversation); and location (close to transportation, restaurants, shows & activities). Everyone in our group felt that we hit a "home run" with the selection of this property for our annual get together. We were here in October and we have to believe that in more traditional vacation times, the house is even better!

The owner was attentive to our needs and even offered to help with our luggage. A really nice touch. Thanks, Rick!

When our group returns to Nashville, this property is number one on our list! Thanks for sharing it with us.

Y'all have to see this Nashville hidden gem!

The ONLY place to stay while in Nashville!

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from a long weekend in Nashville with some of my closest friends - 4 couples in total and we had a chance to stay at Richard's place. It was a fantastic home that was filled with all of the luxuries of a 5 star hotel and was literally a $5-$6 Uber ride into the downtown area. Great accommodations that were within walking distance of the Farmer's Market and on a very quiet, well-kept street in the Germantown section of Nashville.

All 4 couples enjoyed their own master suite and there was plenty of room for all of us and no one felt that they were cramped at all! Great balconies to sit on and have a morning cup of coffee or a glass of wine in the afternoon after spending the morning and early afternoon on Broadway listening to fantastic musicians play live!

Richard takes all the steps needed to make this a great place to stay for a long weekend or a week in Nashville! We had constant communications with him and he was VERY responsive and also had some great recommendations for meals as well!

I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this property if you are going to Nashville with 4 couples because you will love the ability to Uber into town and then escape to the quiet area in Germantown where this home is located. Everything in there was first-class from the extra large flat screen in the family room to the York Peppermint patties and Kurig coffee machines in the bedroooms! Just a great place to stay and trust me, you will not be disappointed.

If we make it back to Nashville again, we will definitely be looking to book this property again! Thank you to Richard for a great place to stay and the recommendations were spot on!

Exceptional stay!

  • 5 of 5

I booked this property for our hiking group and everyone without exception was pleased with their stay. The owner was friendly, helpful and there on our arrival. The home is lovely and comfortable. We found it easy walking distance to downtown and loved the farmer's market that was near by. We could not say enough wonderful things about this property in terms of comfort, amenities and location. Along with an owner who was a pleasure to interact with. I could easily recommend a stay here to anyone want to see and enjoy Nashville.

Great house, great location

  • 5 of 5

We were 4 couples travelling to Nashville. This house worked out perfectly. Each room had a lot of space, with beds, sitting areas, kitchenettes, tv's and coffee makers, and private bathrooms. This allowed for privacy when wanted. It also had a main sitting area where we could congregate and relax. The home was vey clean and comfortable.

We enjoy walking and the house being a 25 minute walk to all the action was perfect and the few time we decided to Lyft/Uber, it was only a $8.00 ride. The house is in a nice peaceful neighbourhood. Far enough away that it was quiet for sleeping.

Beds were comfy.

Having balconies with outdoor furniture was a bonus as we could sit outside with our morning coffee and relax.

Richard was quick to reply to all emails and texts.

All in all, highly recommended.
