Private Waterfront Property on The South End

Bedrooms 4
Half Baths1
Property type estate
Minimum Stay 4 nights

About the property

This Lake House is situated on 2.5 acres of waterfront land with over 400 feet of private shoreline. Newly remodeled 2 years ago but left with its historic charm. This property is ideal for complete privacy with a park like setting that has so much to offer. The house has a brand new kitchen with maple cabinets, a solid surface countertop and brand new stainless steel appliances. There is a 600sq foot outdoor covered porch that overlooks the breathtaking views. On the side of the house is a newly installed stamped concrete patio that is excellent for lounging in the sun. Off the patio is a large fire pit that sits next to a softly running waterfall that is great for nighttime campfires. On the water is a large deck with lounge chairs a swing and a picnic table. There are 3 kayaks and a paddle board on a rack there as well. A 24 foot floating dock as well as two standing docks are there for boat docking, swimming and fishing. The house is equipped with a state of the art water filtration system for the best tasting drinking water right out of the tap. (Most houses on the lake draw there water right out of the lake for consumption and many don't even filter it because the lake is known for having some of the cleanest water in the country). This property has hosted Weddings, Receptions, Family Reunions and Special Partys as well as a getaway for a few distinguished guests (that will remain nameless). This property is one of a kind!!!

About Judd Seales

Our family has lived in the Skaneateles lake area for almost 40 years. We love the outdoors and especially this Lake. Nothing better than relaxing with friends and family right on the water.

Judd Seales purchased this estate in 2009

Why Judd Seales chose Moravia

This property is great for privacy. There are no cars that come through the property and there's plenty of room to run around and be outside.

Interesting remote location high above southern end of beautiful Skaneateles Lake

Awesome fire pit; impressive array of water toys to use....kayaks, paddle boat, SUP, and our favorite - the Toucan float toy. Easy entry into the water plus a great dock for jumping in. We had a lot of fun down at the water. That being said, we probably made a mistake choosing this house for our family vacation because we had two 1-yr-olds, and the stairs and the steep drop-off at the edge of the lawn area were of constant concern. Therefore, our stay was not the most relaxing. The most negative aspect would have to be the number of stairs both inside the house and outside down to the lake. Stairs were shown in the listing photos, but in person they were a bit daunting. But the outdoor stairway lighting was helpful and quite beautiful. The house was interesting, and the modifications that have been made so far were well-chosen - good bathrooms and good (appropriately stocked) kitchen. The extra refrigerator in the laundry room was certainly appreciated. It was nice to have a pet friendly rental so we were able to bring our Cavalier King Charles and it was so much fun watching her learn to swim! Our 7-yr-old loved the loft bunk bed on the 3rd floor.

Given the cost, we were expecting something a little bit less rustic. The house definitely has a "campy" feel to it. Comparatively speaking, I have rented nicer VRBO vacation spots for less money in Arizona, at Lake Michigan, and in Florida. I suppose people feel the Skaneateles Lake location has a certain cache and therefore justifies the price, since it's completely booked. It's just nowhere near the town.

All in all.....we did have a lot of fun and will always remember this as our first family vacation with the grandchildren. It's a photogenic spot, so I was able to take lots of great pictures.

My family stayed in August, 2016 and had a wonderful time. The house is beautiful and well kept - large workable and updated kitchen, laundry room with plenty of pantry space and a nice patio off the side which we used for grilling and enjoying meals outside. We utilized the upstairs large covered patio one day when it rained. The kids (and adults) played badminton in the evenings and enjoyed water sports (tubing, water skiing) during the day and the kids swam off the dock most nights until it got dark. Thoroughly enjoyed this house and location! Thanks!

Myself, husband, kids and their significant others had a great week. The house was very comfortable and had everything you could possibly need or want! Husband and I went to the Glen Haven restaurant just across the lake to meet some friends. Nice place. We all enjoyed the wine trail on neighboring Cayuga Lake. We played games (plenty in the house), swam, kayaked, made fabulous meals in the well equipped kitchen and grilled on the patio. As an early riser, I spent my mornings reading and enjoying my coffee on the huge deck with a breathtaking view of the lake. Couldn't ask for more!

Lakeside House - Mandana

  • 4 of 5

The outside space at the property were outstanding and I loved just walking the property at times. We caught tons of fish right off the dock by the lake. The house itself is quaint and mostly very comfortable except the mattress in the master needs to be replaced. Overall I enjoyed the vacation very much but would not repeat without the use of boat/jet skis along with some upgrades to the sleeping facilities.
