This home is directly across the street from the river that is the Canoe Capitol of the United States! There is a 7 mile canoe ‘trail’– perfect for most, or a 19 mile trip for those more adventurous, or 60 miles for those hard-core folks! A very short drive to boating, fishing, waterskiing, wakeboarding, etc… at Pleasant Hill Lake.

This home is in the stunning countryside of central Ohio on the edge of Mohican State Park. This is an ideal vacation destination for families or individuals of all ages. If you want to get away from city life and explore nature, a lot of wilderness, and plenty of wildlife, this is the place! This is the kind of ideal relaxing vacation spot of which movies are made. It is conveniently located just 80 miles from the heart of Cleveland, and 70 miles from downtown Columbus, Ohio. From Pittsburgh, head straight west for just a bit over 2.5 hours and you will find yourself in this mountain paradise.

Indulge yourself in this 2300 sq. feet with all the comforts of home. This very private two story home boasts a second story deck situated on a private Spruce Tree Farm surrounded by woods, hills, nature, wildlife and the Mohican River right across the street. The Bunk Room can accommodate up to 8 quite comfortably, & 2 Private Queen bedrooms are just across the hall. Downstairs there are 3 Queen sofa beds as well. The 2 baths come fully equipped with linens.

All bath and bed linens are provided. Please bring your own beach towels. All you need is your swimsuits, clothing and personal items. There is a very nice, new, clean laundromat just behind the Marathon station at the end of the road for your personal laundry.

Ground Floor:

A fully-equipped kitchen exits to a large, covered back porch with seating and eating accommodations. The bar/dining room seats ten or more. The living room has comfortable chairs for conversation, a loveseat and sofa, and tv. The Game Room boasts a gas fireplace, a Pool Table and plenty of cards and board games. You’ll want to ‘unplug’ and enjoy some good old-fashioned fun.

Enjoy your mornings with a coffee and breakfast on the front porch, back porch, backyard patio or rooftop deck. Gear up for the day and try to view bald eagles, deer and turkey grazing in peace out back as the sun stretches across the rolling hills.

Walk down to the river for a day of absolute riotous fun. Bring your inner tubes, water wings or floating toys. Alcohol is permitted on the river, but MUST be in cans and NO LITTERING.

Sun worshippers can lie around basking on the oversized sundeck while the rest of your group splashes and climbs. Most of our days are spent rolling down the hills, hiking, loving nature or cruising the river. Bring your camera for some of the best photo opportunities ever.

In the evening, grab your favorite wine, cocktail, beverage and great company and head up to the firepit overlooking the fabulous farm (we'll supply wood for your first fire).

General Area:

Ideal area for taking leisurely walks, serious hikes or some long country bike rides. The warm months are active with river activity and the nearby lake is full of boaters, skiers, wakeboarders and fisherman. The weekdays are quieter and more serene.

Visit a local farm for fresh produce or dine at one of the many fine dining establishments in the area. There are several local stores for supplies, gas and groceries just down the road a bit.

Lately, many seek a country vacation where they can find comfort and serenity - somewhere they can escape from it all, and most importantly somewhere to spend quality time with family and friends. You have just found your ideal country vacation spot.

The pictures on the internet didn't do this house justice. It was very clean and comfortable.

This was a perfect place for a large group. The game room was awesome! We had 8 people and had plenty of room in all the living areas. Kelli was a wonderful hostess and provided all of the information we needed to make it a great weekend! As a added treat we all got to pick out our Christmas trees and take them home. Thank you! Beautiful property, beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

I went to this location to accommodate a larger group (11 of us) and it was wonderful. The property owner, Kelli and her husband were remarkably accommodating and pleasant, helpful and attentive without being intrusive. The house had everything we needed, was clean and well kept. The property itself was situated on 14 acres of a tree farm up on a hill. Had a beautiful view of nearby trees which were changing colors at the time of our stay. Nearby to the canoe drops and hiking trail heads. Rooftop sun deck and a fire pit. This place had everything we needed and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

An amazing getaway! Running Rivers Farm exceeded our every expectation.

  • 5 of 5

The pictures and reviews were extremely accurate. Kelli, our host, was very kind and incredibly responsive to our needs. The farm is peaceful and serene, yet unlike some other cabins, is a short distance from the numerous Loudonville-area activities. Fun for the entire group - regardless of age! I highly recommend staying at this property! We can't wait to return!

The rooms, the decor, the view.... the pictures online do not do it justice. The house has EVERYTHING you need! Every detail is covered in the way the house is stocked. By far THE best VRBO home I have rented!!!

Gorgeous, serene, just a wonderful inviting property

  • 5 of 5

Just recently stayed for our 3rd annual canoe trip. Our group usually ranges in number from about 10 to 16 people and we have never had an issue of feeling cramped at this house. Such an inviting atmosphere with all the comforts of home. To say that the kitchen is completely stocked with any appliance is an understatement. Anything you could possibly need to cook and entertain is provided for you. Just pack your clothes and food and you are set for a wonderful weekend. The property itself is breathtaking, and even if there is unpleasant weather, no need to fear, there is still ample space on the covered deck spaces, and plenty of games to play in the spacious game room. The owners really take pride in their property and are very personable. Can't wait to come back next year!

Great, except some lack of communication

  • 3 of 5

The property was beautiful. There were neighbors, but they were in the distance. I didn't feel as though we disturbed anyone when we were out late (besides the owners staying in the camper on the same property). The house was well maintained (it smelled a little musty when we first arrived, I'm guessing from being closed up, but that smell was gone by the time we left), nicely decorated, and fully furnished. We didn't have to pack much at all. There was plenty of space outdoors for games and hanging out. The fire pit was nice and had plenty of space. Our only complaint would be that the owners stayed on the property as well, in a camper, just on the other side of an out building. We were not notified of this prior to renting or arrival. It made it feel a little less private, and we found it a little rude since we paid so much money and were not notified. They only came over once to "Welcome" us and ask us to move our vehicles out of the yard, which we had parked there to accommodate them so they could exit the property if they needed too. With that being said, it didn't bother us much that they were there, it just seemed odd. We still had a great time, and would rent it again. The space accommodated our large group very nicely.
