About the property

Small but private this Log Cabin in the woods is perfect for two.

This cabin is located 15 min from Eugene in the heart of wine country. 20 min to UofO. Claw-foot bathtub with shower. WIFI. Some breakfast foods, coffee & juice. Close to King Estate, Sweet Cheeks, Noble, Silvan Ridge & Domain Meriweather wineries.

So if you've ever thought you'd be right at home in a log cabin then you've found the right place. There is nothing like the warmth of a log home. This location is private and quiet. Full size bed in the loft is cozy and perfect for two. Couch also makes out into a queen size bed if needed for additional (up to two) guests with no additional fee. New TV, DVD-HDR and VHS player. Free satellite channels and WIFI. A great selection of books, old and new, promise to enhance your stay with a little extra reading time! Stay here for the pure enjoyment of living in a log cabin and the pleasure of enjoying the country you are in. We've purposely avoided hanging a clock so your time is yours, and yours alone.

This cabin, in such a pristine location, is more than a rental.......it's a retreat. An experience at the end of a quiet country road....a memory awaiting your arrival.

Walk down to the pond, use our Kayaks or enjoy the open grassy areas. 2.5 hours from Sisters, 1 hour from the coast (Florence), 15 minutes to Eugene and if you're interested in a Duck game, we're just 24 min. to the UO Campus. If wine tasting interests you, this little log cabin is just 15-20 minutes away from surrounding vineyards and wine tasting rooms. Superb dining is available at King Estate Winery, June 26th - July 13th is the Oregon Bach Festival at the Hult Center (20 minutes away), and many upcoming University of Oregon events at Hayward Field make coming back each year something you won't want to miss. There is also a great 2 mile walk around Peaceful Valley that promises to start your day off on the right foot! Coffee, tea, fresh fruit and juice are here for you as well.

A great little stream and seasonal waterfall complement this beautiful property and are seen right outside your cabin door. Property is landscaped and has several nature walks to choose from. Fire pit outside your cabin door, under the stars, makes for a wonderful destination in the evening to roast marshmallows or sip on a glass if your favorite wine. Enhance your stay with the enjoyment of a camp fire and relax to your heart's content.

Check-in and Check-out times can be adjusted. Just let us know what will work best for you and we will be happy to see if we can accommodate your wishes. Standard check out time is 11:00 am and check in time is 3:00 pm unless other arrangements have been made. We have a home nearby so if there is anything more you need - just let us know! We will respect your privacy while you are here and yet will try to do everything we can to make your stay a 'Notch Above the Rest'! :) Sorry, this listing is not suitable for very young children, due to the spiral staircase. Map of property, located inside, shows areas that you may access as well as private areas belonging to the main Log Home. AT&T Cellphone coverage is spotty but works outside in the front yard, Verizon works (that's what we use) and we have WIFI. Will consider long term guests.

About Linda F. OConnell

We enjoy family gatherings at home, our two great dogs, fishing, camping, oil painting, gardening, working in our little fruit tree orchard, and planning great family get-togethers. Our motto is: Cream Always Rises to the Top; and The More the Merrier! We love to barbecue and entertain friends and family in our home, often. We are fortunate to offer our little log cabin and our log home (separate listing) on VRBO.

Linda F. OConnell purchased this cabin in 1991

Why Linda F. OConnell chose Willamette Valley

Enjoy use of our pontoon boats while you are here! See pictures of pond and wildlife areas. Fire pit outside cabin door is available for evening enjoyment. Just ask and we'll supply wood for your campfire. We are situated in the beautiful Willamette Valley, right in the heart of great wine tasting country! 5 wineries are within 15-20 minutes of our property and Eugene is only a 15 minute drive away. For Duck football fans, this is a great place to stay. Only 20 minutes to Autzen Stadium! The beautiful Oregon coast is just 1 hour away. The Portland Airport, Cascade Mountains, Mt. Bachelor, The Three Sisters mountain range, and the little Western town of Sisters are about 2-3 hours drive. Major airlines service the Eugene airport 20 minutes away from us. We enjoy living in the Willamette Valley and continue to discover new places to visit. We love going to the Hult Center for the Performing Arts (on the Broadway Circuit!) as well as the Very Little Theater, a venue for local performing artists. We are fond of the Oregon Electric Station for dinner as well as King Estates Winery for exquisite dining; both only 20 minutes away. And we always suggest the 5th Street Public Market for an exceptional down town experience: local brew pubs, wine tasting, jazz, ...Eugene has it all. This is what we like about living here! :)

What makes this cabin unique

We have enjoyed landscaping our property over the years. We have a garden and a small orchard that keep us in canned goods the year round. The pond and rockwork changed the character of the property from a nice country setting to a fun retreat! You are welcome to use the kayaks and life jackets while you are here. Our log home across the way is often enjoyed by larger families wanting to spend time in the country. Upper fire pit area is only available to tenants renting the big log home.

The Quiet and Cozy Little Cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We highly recommend the Little Cabin. We had a first rate experience. The owners are wonderful people and very easy to work with. We had all the comforts of home in a beautiful location and it was only a 15 minute drive to the University of Oregon. The cabin was clean, comfortable and quiet. We had the perfect vacation.

Comfortable and sweet cabin in the woods

  • 5 of 5

I had a wonderful stay at this location which is nestled in pine trees but still only about 15 min from the city area. It has all the amenities of home but is peaceful and quaint. The owners are professional, thoughtful, and accommodating. I highly recommend this cabin for all travelers who want to stay in or near Eugene, OR

Loved the 'Little Log Cabin"

  • 5 of 5

It started when we arrived...lights on, music playing and fresh fruit in the fridge....What a warm and cozy place to spend time. We loved the secluded setting, and after we mastered the spiral staircase enjoyed everything about this charming retreat. Don't miss dinner at the KoHo Bistro. It was outstanding.

Wonderful place to relax and great location.

  • 5 of 5

This little log cabin was just perfect for my boyfriend and I while we were in Eugene for an Oregon football game. We first arrived at the cabin with the heat turned on, the table set for two, oj and other amenities in the fridge, and a comfy couch with lots of blankets. Linda was so wonderful to make the cabin feel like home. We slept so well because of the quiet, woody surroundings and we truly felt like we were in a cabin in the woods even though we were only 15 minutes from downtown Eugene, which made it convenient to enjoy all the game festivities. The only thing that I would make note of is that it really is a perfect cabin for two, just because of its' size. We loved our stay and would definitely recommend it!

Great place, quiet, comfortable and reasonably priced

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here when we came up for a football game. Planned our trip kind of late so all of the hotels in Eugene were booked solid. But I am kind of glad for that because we got to find this little gem. Rates were very reasonable (much cheaper than what we would have paid for a smaller hotel room) and it was much more comfortable. My brother and his girlfriend slept on the bed while I had the pull out couch to myself, which was perfectly comfortable. Actually wish we could have stayed longer to explore the area more and go to a winery. The owners were very nice and not only did they not have any extra fees, but they also stocked the place with some toiletries, aspirin etc., which was a nice touch. Definitely one of the better rentals that I have found and I highly recommend.

Relaxing Cabin

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was perfect for a little romantic getaway with my wife. The bed was very comfortable and we both enjoyed it very much. :-) We both liked how small and comfortable the cabin was. Also, it was adequately stocked with many amenities. Thanks, and we hope to return again.

Our neighborhood consists of a few homes and barns, dotted here and there, along our lazy, country road. Since it is not a through street, and we are at the very end of the road, we get very little traffic! A nice walk really should be on your list of things to do and if you are bringing bicycles you will enjoy that too. The setting is picturesque and peaceful, so remember to bring your camera. Early risers see deer, squirrels, raccoon, and birds. They are protected here
