One of the nicest top floor townhouses in the award winning Aspens at Kicking Horse Resort. This is a top row unit with no buildings above you. Ski to your door. Amazing views of the Columbia Valley from your private hot tub. All the things you'd expect from a great rental . . . premium bedding and linens, well appointed kitchen with all the tools to make a gourmet meal, heated kitchen and bathroom floors, fireplace, 42' LED with Telus optic and home-theater sound, fiber wifi, an outdoor grill, lockable ski-rack in heated garage and heated secure parking. The Telus optic system has Netflix and Prime access if you have an account plus Tune-In, youTube, and Stingray Music, or connect your iPad/Phone/etc. For those wanting to catch the news before sleeping, there's a second hi-def TV in the master bedroom with a separate set top box. A security camera on the outside deck helps ensure you don't get surprised by wildlife or an unauthorized visitor.

Winter offers you amazing skiing in knee-deep champagne powder or go for a cross-country kick on 33 km of groomed skate and classic trails. Take the kids skating or tubing at the village base, or just hang out by the fireplace and read that novel you've been trying to catch up on. During the Summer, challenge yourself to some of the best downhill and single track biking in Canada or hike pristine wilderness at the base or from the top of the Gondola. Go visit Boo the Grizzly at the on mountain bear refuge, do some fishing, or play one of the nicest mountain golf courses--the Golden Golf & Country Club just at the base of the mountain road. The kitchen had everything we needed and more! Always grateful to have a stocked kitchen. Boys loved and use the hot tub daily. My only suggestion would be to have a chair or small bench on the covered patio to put boots on and off outside. Thanks and hope we have an opportunity to be able to stay there again in the future.

We had a wonderful time visiting Golden and Kicking horse. The lodge is cozy with beautiful views of the mountains and forests, and every breakfast was a treat and skiing back home at the end of the day amazing. We would go back in a heartbeat.

Gorgeous Mountain View in Peaceful Setting

Townhouse was absolutely beautiful and well appointed. We enjoyed the hot tub on the deck in the quiet evenings under the bright stars, and loved watching the hummingbirds at the feeders.

Amazing stay, would love to come back!

This was an amazing stay in Golden! Leo was extremely communicative in preparing for this trip and everything was so seamless. This location is perfect if you are looking to have a remote relaxing mountain stay. Would definitely stay again!

The property itself is beautiful, comfortable, and well-appointed. The kitchen is great, the deck and hot tub are enjoyable, the beds are reasonably comfortable, check-in was easy, and the views are excellent. However, there are serious privacy concerns.A security camera on the deck points directly at the hot tub. It was not disclosed in the listing, and we were only told about it after the cancellation/refund period had passed. There was also no signage. We later learned that VRBO policy requires cameras viewing hot tubs or pools to be disclosed before booking and identified onsite. We would not have booked had we known we could be monitored while using the hot tub. Creepy!We also believe that a camera is illegal under BC privacy law, given the high expectation of privacy around bathing areas.We covered the camera with a towel while using the hot tub. We later discovered it was magnetic and could be removed or pointed away.The host used the camera to see me remove the hot tub cover and then withheld our entire damage deposit, claiming damage. Creepy! Photos were provide, but several hot tub retailers told us the damage appeared old and consistent with normal use. I had inspected the cover after use but, unfortunately, didn't take photos.VRBO ultimately refunded us half our payment.Bottom line: It is a lovely property, but beware. The hot tub surveillance is a major privacy concern. If you stay here, photograph the hot tube cover thoroughly before use.

I am sorry you received a late outdoor security cam notification. If you would have returned the rental agreement in a timely manner that would have given you time to cancel within the refund period. You could also have asked for a refund after the refund period and we would have been happy to do that as we want our guests to have a great stay. That camera has been on our deck for 2 years and during that entire time our guests have only given our place 5-star reviews. It is there to monitor for unauthorized hot tub use or suspicious activity, for snow loads as we need to comply with removal bylaws, for wildlife intrusion and for insurance purposes. It’s installed compliant with BC legislation and is not monitored. We scan footage for odd or potentially dangerous things and tend to turn it off after guests check in. We were unaware of the listing requirement. Our staff carefully inspected our place prior to your stay and the cover was in great shape. We provide a hot tub cover lifter along with detailed instruction on how to use it to make it easy to lift the cover and protect it. It seems you didn’t read the instructions as we noticed your husband just pushing the cover off the tub and letting it hit the ground. We did reach out to you and again provided instructions on how to use the lifter but we don’t know how that turned out as you unfortunately tampered with our camera. I hope this provides some clarity as we want people to enjoy our place as much as we do.

We could not be happier with our stay here. The condo is immaculately clean. The views from the hot tub are stunning. We either watched the sunset or sunrise from the hot tub each day as we soaked our muscles from hiking. The condo had everything needed for a comfortable home away from home. Close to everything we wanted to visit / see. Food is excellent in Golden. Highly recommend

We are two career people, both in the IT industry, that would rather be outside than inside.

Why they chose this property

We are avid skiers, hikers and single track riders. We purchased our place in 2014 primarily as it was a bit away from the main gondola and village, but close enough to ski down to or bike down to in a few minutes. This is an amazing resort. In winter you can spend one day hiking to T1 and T2 to ski untracked, the next skiing incredible lift serviced runs, chutes and glades, and then the next skiing nordic trails at Dawn Mountain, just a 3 minute drive from the townhouse. During the summer we love the riding here. It can be as challenging as you want to make it from easy single track rides in the Cedar Lake area to long hard climbs from the base of CBT or over on Mount 7. Grab your body armor and spend a day shooting down berms and riding skinny's off the gondi. Not into biking? The hiking around here is beautiful whether just walking the top of the ridges from the gondi, or heading into Roger's Pass or Yoho. Want an easy recovery day? Play a round of golf at the Golden course at the bottom of the resort road. It's consistently great golf. There aren't a lot of places where you can do so much all in one resort. Plus, go to town, it's got everything you could need, good places to eat, and the people are really nice. We hope you fall in love with this mountain the way we have.

What makes this property unique

This unit in the Aspens is on the top row of the development. We paid a bit more for the true ski in, ski out location, the sun on the deck during the day and the quietness of being tucked up next to the trees. From the hot tub there is a million dollar view looking across at mountain peaks and into the Columbia Valley. At night the forest right behind us smells amazing.
