Relaxing and Private Family Retreat on Balsam Lake.

Bedrooms 2
Space 1,100 sq. ft.
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 1 - 5 nights

About the property

A quick 1.5 hr beautiful drive close to the Twin Cities and there you have it the 'up north feel'. Balsam Lake is a premier lake that has plenty to offer. The lake is 1901 acres of great fishing, several islands, public beach perfect for a summer get away. Boat to one of many restaurants on the lake and easy access the marina. This lake makes it relaxing with all it has to offer.

Cozy up to the bonfire over looking the lake and listen to the wildlife sing. We enjoy looking at the lake at all hours, and every time we capture something different. Swing in the hammock that over looks the lake or just lay back and relax in the sitting deck. Perfect breeze hits you on all sides, the smell of summer is in the air.

The cabin is a easy to access one story. it is roughly 1000 sq ft with updated amenities. Sit on the deck that overlooks the lake. In the cabin we have updated everything to make the stay extra easy. One of my major needs as a mother of 3 was a washer and dryer in which is located in the bathroom. The cabin has 2 bedrooms, 1bath, and a pullout sofa in the porch. The kitchen is equipped with everything you should need. It is a great space for entertaining your family. Plenty of parking down the winding driveway. I am all about comfort when i step foot at the lake.

There is a public boat entrance if you decide to bring your boat or you can rent ours for a additional fee. There is so much i could keep adding with the perks , but i will let the pictures speak for themselves!

We hope you have a pleasant stay and look forward to this being a yearly trip for you!

5 star

This is the kind of place that you don't want to tell anyone about because its like a hidden gem! But Melissa and Andy are great so I must gush about our stay. Our family of 5 was able to have a quick get-away this July and the cabin totally met our needs. We have been looking for a cabin where we could return year-over-year - and, we found it. Inside, the cabin was cozy and comfortable and had everything we needed. Outside, we took advantage of the deck and fire pit every day/night. The lake is beautiful and clean so we enjoyed casting our lines and swimming off the dock. My kids are younger so we didn't use the back building but I could see how teens would like it as a hang-out. Can't wait to be back next year!

Looking forward to future stays,

Great Getaway ~!!~

Loved the outdoor spaces of this cabin. There was an awesome fire pit overlooking the lake, a cozy lounge area tucked between the cabin and lake, and the beautiful trees and landscaping everywhere. It was too cold for us to enjoy lake activities but we enjoyed the outdoors. The cabin was cozy and comfortable inside, and for a bonus there was a large screen TV to watch games on out in the garage rec room.

We loved out stay.

We had a very nice stay. Good weather and we could bring our two dogs with us.

The cabin was nice. It wasn't fussy and had all the features we needed for our stay. The cabin had a shower, TV and a nice kitchen. It also had a large deck and swimming raft. The only problem was trying to get the truck and boat in and out of the very narrow, winding driveway. Had to take the trailer off the truck to turn it around. The lake was very busy, but it was the last big weekend of summer before school, so that was to be expected.

Overall, Melissa worked with us to find dates that worked, allowed us to bring two dogs and was excellent to deal with. We were satisfied with the stay overall.

We loved this cozy cabin and busy, timeless lake. Definitely more of a boaters lake than kayakers, but fun to watch people go by from the many spots to relax. It felt private and like we could just walk right in and be on vacation! So close to the Twin Cities! We swam in the super-clear (and warm!) water, went on walks on the paved road, and road bikes. Thank you for sharing your spot!

No detail forgotten. Cabin well appointed. Great view overlooking water. Caught fish from dock. Quite relaxing location, however, kids could have a ball. Necessities 10 minutes - food, beer and bait. Can't wait to do it again.
