About the property

2 bdrm, 1 1/2 bathroom on a great fishing lake

Enjoy your next vacation at this lovely cabin. It is so relaxing and conveniently located just 70 miles northeast from the Twin Cities. Big Round Lake is over 1000 acres and is second to none for fishing in Northwest Wisconsin. It is also perfect for all water sports.

The cabin was completely remodeled in 2010 and is very clean and comfortable. All new appliances are furnished in the kitchen, as well as central air and forced air furnace for your comfort all year long. We have also placed coin operated laundry facilities in the tiled entry way. All bedding and towels are provided for you. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes and pots and pans, and there is a gas or charcoal grill provided. Bring your own propane and/or charcoal. This cabin will sleep 6 people comfortably. No pets and no smoking.

On the main level you enter the cabin through the knotty pine entry way with tiled floors. From there is the spacious kitchen with dinner table. There is a nice bathroom with a shower stall. Sorry no bathtub. Just off the kitchen is the living room with cable TV, brand new 40 inch LED flat screen TV, and DVD player. Attached to the living room is the 4 season sun porch with knotty pine walls, a 14' flat screen TV, a hide a bed sofa for extra sleeping space, and a door that walks out to the lake. Wireless internet is included as well.

On the upper level you will find on large bedroom furnished with 2 queen beds, a dresser, and a 32' flat screen TV. It has one window facing the lake, and two other windows which give you a wonderful cross breeze. The second bedroom has a queen bed, 12' flat screen TV, a dresser, and a 1/2 bathroom with a toilet and a sink. Both bedrooms are furnished with a box fan, and have a small closet if you wish to hang up your clothing.

Outside you will enjoy the large well maintained one acre yard. There is a wooden swing, picnic table and a beautiful fire pit patio on top of the hill facing the lake. This gives you an amazing view of the sunset while having a bonfire. Firewood is included. A private dock is provided for your personal boat, pontoon, or other water craft that you are welcome to bring. We have a paddle boat, canoe and 2 kayaks available to you. One of our favorite things to do is take the canoe or kayak up the Straight River that comes into the lake on the Northwest end of the lake. New for 2014 we have just purchase 2 Hydro-bikes which are available for an additional fee.

You can't beat the deal on this cozy vacation cabin. Don't wait to book your perfect north woods vacation.

The memories will last you a lifetime.

We have been renting the cabin since 2011 and all our guests have loved the cabin and the location!!

About Faith Kahler

My husband has been coming to this lake since 1995 when his parents bought their lake home. In 1999, my husband purchase a trailer just 4 lots down from his parents' lot. In 2002 we met, and decided to get rid of the trailer and build our home. We finished the building and moved to the lake in 2003. We have lived here ever since and love it. In 2010 the property next to us came up for sale, so we decided to purchase it and rent it out as a vacation home. It has been working out wonderfully for the past 3 years.

Faith Kahler purchased this cabin in 2010

Why Faith Kahler chose Northwest

We live on the lake, and when the property next to us was on the market we decided to try out the vacation rental business. We love it here, and so do all of our guests at the cabin!

What makes this cabin unique

We offer a private dock, paddle boat, canoe, tandem kayak and single kayak. Since the cabin is located on hill with many mature trees, you feel like you a visiting a park for week. Being on the North end of the lake gives you a wonderful breeze most days which keeps you cool, and helps to keep the mosquitoes away.

Big Round Lake is well known in this area as an excellent fishing lake. It has an abundance of large size pan fish, crappie, and bass. Walleye, Northern and a few Muskies also inhabit the lake. The Straight River comes into the lake on the West side of the lake and exits the lake on the South end. If you are feeling adventurous you might attempt canoeing or kayaking up or down the river.

Wonderful Stay

We had a wonderful stay in northwestern Wisconsin. The cabin was perfect for our visit. It was clean and very will equipped. Faith was a great host. She handled the entire booking process in a very professional manner. The check in process was very easy. Faith was very helpful during our entire stay. Sure beats staying in a motel. We will definitely stay at the cabin during any of our return visits to Wisconsin.

Excellent Stay!!!!

  • 5 of 5

I found the Kalher Cabin to be very clean, well-maintained and super comfortable for my family during our stay in Northwestern Wisconsin. The cabin had all of the necessities we needed to make a Thanksgiving meal. The owners were very professional to work with during the booking process and very accommodating throughout our stay. Being a frequent traveler for my job, I get an opportunity to stay in a lot of hotels and vacation rentals throughout year and can tell you this is the best valued place to stay in area. The view of the lake is spectacular too! Thanks again, we’ll be back.

Serene get-a-way

My four cousins and I had a great week at the cabin. The house was clean and very well equiped with comfortable beds, nice furnishings. The cabin/house was bright and airy, upstairs and down. The owners were friendly and accommodating. There is a wonderful fire pit with a tiled surround overlooking the lake which we enjoyed every evening. We didn't fish but were informed that the lake is great for fishing. The lake is close to several small towns and we spent quite a bit of time roaming around, shopping, eating.

Very nice experience.

Love this place

  • 5 of 5

My Wife and I and another couple rented this cabin this past winter and had a blast! What a great winter getaway. We caught tons of fish right out in front of the cabin, we also enjoyed the awesome Polk County snowmobile trails! They were so well maintained and so easy to get to the from the cabin. What a hidden secret!! We will be back in 2014 to fish and sled! The cabin was awesome, so neat and clean it felt like home! Looking forward to this winter!!!

Great place! Excellent owners

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here for a week in mid September. We took along our pontoon boat and motorcycle and enjoyed both. Had one great lunch in Amery at a mexican restaurant and found delicious hamburgers on all our rides at local establishments along the way. The cabin was clean and well maintained. The kitchen was well supplied. The owners, who live next door, met us when we arrived giving us directions to the heat/air and electronics. We especially enjoyed 2 evenings of campfires with the owners. We would recommend this rental to our friends!
