About the property

3 bedroom, 3 bath Luxury Condo: floor to ceiling windows offer majestic sunset

Refund Policy: If you have a problem, it would be our pleasure to work with you to reschedule.

Our 3-Bedroom, 3-full -bath, LaPerla Condo was built and designed to the highest standards, with the best of materials. The Indoor Secure Parking space is s major benefit where your car will not be an oven. The condo is accentuated with contemporary furnishings with close proximity to the town and beach, a 5 minute walk. The La Perla Building can be seen when walking the beach. It’s situated on the hillside, just a 4-5 min. walk to the beach and Bustling town of Tamarindo . Embark on your new ‘Pura Vida’ vacation in the heart of Costa Rica’s famous Gold Coast. The weather is totally reliable. Expect a Sunny day when you look out the window every day except during the rainy season, usually around October but that doesn’t also hold true. Be sure to fly into Liberia’s International Airport. I book the Tamarindo Shuttle usually the first and last day of my vacation $20/person and relax and enjoy a very scenic and interesting drive just over an hour away. This condo building was designed and constructed to Earthquake standards making it extremely desirable.

Our Ocean View La Perla residence is furnished with the best: Imported Italian Sectional, Denmark Sculptured Glass T.V. stand and coffee table. It was not furnished for a rental but circumstances dictated otherwise. Just take a look at the pictures, or call if you have any questions, Connie at 860-918-8715. It’s located between two other beaches . Playa Tamarindo is for beginning surfers and swimmers. Playa Grande on one side, across the estuary, is for very advanced surfers and strong swimmers. Playa Langosta on the other side, is also for more advanced surfers but there’s minimal beach for walking and very rocky. Since the sun rises and sets year round at 6, it’s important to have access to restaurants, shopping etc. Just give it a try or just relax at the pool and a/c equipped Gym located above the pool/ and state of the art bar-b-cue area with spectacular views of the Pacific.

The kitchen is equipped with stainless steel G.E. appliances, built-in microwave and conventional oven plus all the smaller appliances every kitchen should have, and two coffee pots, just in case one malfunctions. There’s a water filter pitcher so you won’t have to purchase bottled water. I still purchase bottled water sometimes.

Sleeping quarters: Three bedrooms, 3-full bathrooms, 2 bedrooms were designed with large walk-in closets and king beds. The master is also equipped with a pull-out queen sofa, and a 40” t.v. There are 2 single beds and portable closet in the 3rd bedroom. All 3 bedrooms have decks with floor to ceiling windows plus the deck doors with ocean views. The architect for our building, also designed the airport in San Jose so the developer spared no expense. It will be undeniably obvious that he hired the best for design and chose the best materials for construction. The large 20X20 tiles are volcanic tiles. It’s absolutely amazing. Built, of course, to Earthquake standards unlike other new buildings in town.

About Gerald Yuska

2006 marked our first visit to Costa Rica. I was advised, by a friend, to book something on the Pacific. In 2006We initially put deposits on two condos which were a 25minute drive to Tamarindo but which FORTUNATELY fell through. There was supposed to be a Mall and Marina coming to the first area, Playa Flamingo, which we considered for purchase in 2006. It's 2017 and that development never happened but it was a great selling point for those who bought the story.

We returned to Costa Rica in 2008 but this time booked a Condo in Playa Langosta with the absolute agreement that we were returning for the beauty and would “absolutely and positively" not look at condos. Obviously, that didn’t happen either. The condo we booked in Langosta was too long of a walk on a dirt road in the 88-95 weather with the sun beating down on you so we opted to diove to Tamarindo rather than walking. We were scheduled to return home in two day when we finally got to see the Impressive LaPerla Condo Building perched up on a hill that was under construction. When I saw it was 2200 sq. ft., a 50% deposit was easy to part with immediately in 2008.

We didn’t close until July 2011. On our visit first vacation in 2006, we drove to Tamarindo everyday where there’s a town, people, activity, surf, mos: Where there was something going on. Also, having two sons, we needed to find a place that would entice them to come. Tamarindo has the right surf for beginners. It sits between Playas Langosta and Playa Grande, best choices for the advanced surfers. You can walk along the seashore to Playa Langosta or walk across or take a $2 boat ride across the Estuary to Playa Grande. Grande for the really advanced surfers. The water is refreshing and warm everywhere. It's sunny every day. You can walk to grocery stores, Medical Clinic , even a tennis court all of which are between 2-6 minute walk. There’s even a Casino, but more important, Cafe Tico for avid , coffee drinker

Gerald Yuska purchased this condo in 2008

Why Gerald Yuska chose Tamarindo

This property was the most desirable because of the short walk to town; the guarantee of a good night’s sleep away from the noise and activity of the town, it’s appeal to our then children, now adults who need to escape responsibilities in their adult lives. It’s location up on a hill provides spectacular views of the Pacific and the of the Howling Monkeys in trees across the street, almost more important than the view. It’s size, 2200 sq. ft. and Contemporary style but most important you’ll get a good night sleep on these New pillow-top mattresses or even the Italian sectional. It's quiet all day, especially important at night. You'll want a good night's sleep to get the most out of your vacation. It's just far enough from the noise of bars, traffic and restaurants. A Safe, quiet location with 24 hour Security Guards and just far enough away from the bustling activity of the town yet close enough to walk to the beach, and an amazing upscale town. Many restaurants are directly on the beach where you can watch the surfers, walk the mile-long-no rocks beach. It more than rivals Playa Grande and Playa Langosta which is a very long walk into town at 95 plus.

What makes this condo unique

The two condos we had put deposits on had Tunnel Vision like most condos everywhere with the exception being LaPerla Condos. The wall size windows in all rooms provide amazing, panoramic views. It reminds me of ‘Frank Lloyd Wright’s unique “one-with-nature" Design. The 15x15 round deck off of the kitchen is equipped with very comfortable, quality chairs and table. This is where you'll spend a lot of time relaxing and taking in the views. Exceptionally large canopies provide total protection from the direct rays of the sun. You can sit outside all day without needing any artificial protection from the sun and at the same time see and hear Ocean Sounds . The howling monkeys nest and swing from the branches of the trees across from the 2 major decks. You’ll see iguanas scurrying across the streets as you approach or up trees. Plenty of iguanas everywhere but they,ll run away if you come anywhere near them so Not to Worry.

Bedrooms: Taking into consideration the hot climate, I thought it best to encase the king and twin mattresses and all pillows in allergenic covers.

There are screens on the doors if you don't like air-conditioning. You may enjoy the ocean breeze at night or during the day, throughout most of year. September and October, especially, will probably be rainy, amazing downpours that last 10 minutes or so and the Reliable Sun comes out. It's not usually the best time to be there. The year I was there in October, I really didn’t experience the excessive rain so I was told. I found the downpours amazing, something I'd never experienced so I go down many different times of the year.I have a, very trustworthy and amazing property manager that I trust completely recommended by some Americans who own a condo in our building.

Connie -

I want to let you know we had an amazing time. Thank you so much for offering your home away from home to us. We eventually found Cafe Tico - and LOVED it! Thanks again for everything.

Tamarindo is the only place to be here on the Pacific in Costa Rica, Guanacaste is the province which includes Playa Tamarindo. In 2006 we put deposits on two condos in Flamingo and Potrero which both didn't work out. Returned in 2008 for the beauty with the agreement absolutely not to buy. I guess that wan’t absolute. 2006- Every day when we stayed in Flamingo we drove to Tamarindo where there was something going on, people walking around, a beach with great surf, shopping, restaurants and coffee shops. We thanked God, the deals fell through in 2006. Tamarindo is our 2nd home. The people are friendly, helpful and kind. It's the most beautiful place I've visited. You'll get plenty of Vitamin D which is all they're talking about on the news in Connecticut. So what's wrong with that. You'll sleep good at night in our condo where there are no loud noise from bars, traffic etc. It's safe and secure with 24 hour security.

Home away from home

  • 5 of 5

The property was great just a 10min. Walk from downtown Tamarindo. We had a group of 6 and the property was just what we needed. The property manager and staff were very helpful. I would definitely recommend this property to others. It was spacious, clean, and it just felt like home away from home.

Beautiful place to stay

  • 5 of 5

The condo is beautiful, and looked just like the photos. The unit was spacious and well appointed. It has all the creature comforts including Wifi, a big screen with Apple TV, and plenty of kitchen supplies.

The location is convenient, just a few minute walk down the hill to the main street in front of Witches Rock Surf Camp.

The property is safe and quiet at night.

Antonio, the manager, was great resource. He was friendly and responsive. There were a few small mechanical issues with the unit that he promptly addressed.

One small complaint- someone (probably another tenant) kept unplugging the golf cart we rented.

Overall it was a fantastic stay.

Gold carts were a new option so new procedure have been put into place. Have a wonderful rest of the year. Sincerely, Connie

Great Apartment, horrible plumbing

  • 3 of 5

We stayed late August 2017.

Pros: The unit is lovely....large...well furnished. The property manager, Antonio, was responsive and helpful. You are a one block walk from the beach. There is indoor parking. On the second floor, the unit has a partially obstructed ocean view and the balcony is very pleasant in the morning, nice breezes, with monkeys in the distance. The bedding and furniture is in excellent condition, large TV, huge matter how nice your normal home, you will be impressed and like this unit. The wi-fi is reliable. There is a very nice pool with clean and working grills for you to use. (go just outside town to the Economy mart, or the in Tamarindo Auto Mercado, and buy fresh food-we did fish one night, burgers the other). Sunset views from the deck over the pool are literally postcard. We were off season, so had no problems with restaurant reservations or anything else. We loved, loved, loved, Costa Rica and Tamarindo.

Cons: (or, why only three stars ?) While we were there, the water didn't work, and unlike the States, building management does not post notices. (Surprise !!!) There was a major problem with the water line to the whole building, and as a result, we only had water sporadically. They would turn it on in the AM, and again in the PM...we learned to check the tank before using the bathroom, and post-beach we rinsed off at beach showers as water in unit was hit or miss. We bought bottled water (inexpensive at the Econo-Mercado outside town-about half price the Auto Mercado in Tamarindo and more local food). The dishwasher and left hand sink leaked, so we could not use the dishwasher-so we had to do dishes by hand, water supply willing. The bathtub with massage jets in the master bath doesn't work-not that we could have used it anyway.

I spoke to the Condo manager (not Antonio), who assured me it would be done by the end of our first day there...having done this sort of work myself, it would have been done in one day in N. America, but was still "in process" when we left a week later with no real change "at faucets". I'd rent this unit again, but only after assurance the water is fixed and the dishwasher repaired.

Owner's Response: I accessed the following information on line to try to understand the problems you experienced. " The water shortage was due to the coming of “Tropical Storm Nate” which followed weeks of unusually heavy rains that had caused chaos in many Costa Rica communities from overflowing rivers, mud slides, washed out roads. 50% more rain than average. “This is a critical situation, the likes of which Costa Rica has not faced for many years.”President Luis Guillerno Sobes. The dishwasher is brand new so when I go down this week, we will see if the problem is resolved. I will update you as we’d love to have you return. For the 9 years we’ve owned our condo there has not been a storm of such magnitude in Costa Rica . As a matter of fact Property Owners are still dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy which devastated the east coast not that long ago or Puerto Rico for that matter. Hopefully the likelihood of vacationers everywhere experiencing such disaster will be less but then Mother Nature may have a different plan. We intend to maintain the 5***** responses for ourselves and for our guests. Things are almost back to U.S. standards. We look forward to having you back and glad you enjoyed Playa Tamarindo. Have a wonderful holiday!!! Sincerely, Connie

Great condo in great location.

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at this condo. It is roomy and modern. Good views and a close walk to downtown. Connie was very pleasant and easy to work with. Her manager Wilberth was also good to work with. He even helped us arrange our transportation to and from the airport. We rented a golf care one day and explored some the areas that are a bit out of town.

Excellent - Modern fully equipped great location!

  • 5 of 5

We spent 7 fabulous days/nights at this location. First of all, Connie, the owner is so attentive and extremely accommodating. The condo itself was perfect. 3 bedrooms, 2 of them are en-suites which suited us perfectly. The kitchen is fully equipped and had everything we needed. It is a very secure fenced in location with a guard at the gate 24/7. The pool and gym facility is steps from the building and is absolutely perfect. The pool is clean and perfect temps and the gym is well equipped. My husband used it daily. You can easily walk into the quaint town of Tamarindo. Loads of shopping, eating out, beach activities and more. We had the most amazing time and didn't want it to end. Our daughter surfed twice while she was there. My only comment there, is be extremely diligent with sun screen. The sun is deceiving when the wind is blowing and you're playing in the ocean. Finally, Wilburt who is the property manager, is very helpful and will ensure you have what you need when you arrive and is available for questions via snap chat during your stay. Book this condo.. trust me you won't regret it. We will definitely be back. Thanks a million Marc, Mary and Kiera

Owner's Response: Dear Marc, Mary and Kiera, Wow. What a review!!! I feel the same as you and love your description our condo which I will have to incorporate in my description. We almost made a major mistake of buying real-estate in nearby towns. Our sons said they would never go to Costa Rica if we made that mistake. I, too, would have been bored to death not being able to watch the surf, the surfers, my favorite walk to the best coffee cafe paralleled only by Italy’s, great restaurants etc. etc. etc. and all within walking distance. Hello, Kiera, “ You must have an enviable tan which is the Upside for your discomfort. Take care, Connie Connie
