About the property

HUGE 3 bedroom: 2 en suites: 2 twins bedroom: 3 full baths: 3 decks, dining room:

Why choose Playa Tamarindo over adjacent beaches? Nearby locations inevitably mention their proximity to Tamarindo so why then wouldn’t you try to book in Tamrindo if possible.

Isn’t it time to “Embark on your ‘Pura Vida’ (Pure Life) Like “Chow” Vacation in the heart of Costa Rica’s famous Gold Coast.

The architect also designed the International Airport in the capital, San Jose, so the developer spared no expense for the most important considerations. It is undeniably obvious that he hired one of the best for architects and also chose the best materials for construction from large Schindler, German imported elevators to huge German imported humungous windows, in all major rooms, including 3 in the kitchen . You’ll feel like you’re practically outdoors.

Our 3-Bedroom, 3-full-bath, LaPerla Condo has a 24 hour Security Station. The assigned Indoor Parking space is a major benefit where your car will not be an Oven. The condo itself is accentuated with Contemporary Furniture, Imported from Sweden, Denmark and Italy so are very durable and comfortable.

The Great Room: Kitchen/ living room is where you’ll spend most of your time. The Main Deck, 15 ‘X15’ Round deck is strategically located off of the Great Room and is the main deck where most people can sit , any time of day, as the canopies provide protection from the direct rays of the Sun. The living room is equipped with a 55” Sony T.V. and an L-Shaped Italian Sectional , Swedish coffee table etc. The kitchen area has an Extra Large Center Island. The adjacent dining room sits 7 with 4 chairs and a bench,

There are 3 Bedrooms, One massive Master Bedroom ensuite ,double sink, shower and jacuzzi, a walk - in closet, a 40” TV. and a bonus pull-out queen sofa and private deck. The other Ensuite is also very large with a walk-in closet, King Size Pillow - top mattress, a desk and full size bathroom and deck with black out curtains for a good night’s sleep. The third bedroom has two Bassett Twin Beds also with pillow top mattresses and a Cedar Closet and the third full bathroom.

It’s a five minute walk to the beach, town, coffee shops and restaurants, small Casino, and shopping. Accomodations offered in nearby locations emphasize their proximity to Tamarindo. There’s a reason why proximity to Tamarindo is emphasized so why not just be right “ in Tamarindo? “Our La Perla Building, with its very large 15” Round can easily be seen when walking the beach, (please see photo) Playa Tamarindo, as it’s situated up on the hillside, and just a five minute walk to the beach and bustling town of Tamarindo. It’s far enough from the active town to get a good night sleep, not always the case in other buildings. The weather is totally reliable. Expect a Sunny days when you open the blinds except October which can be rainy. I was there in October once and it was an experience witnessing the torrential rain which lasted 15-30 minutes and then amazingly the sun came out.

If possible, fly into the International Airport in Liberia which is currently expanding for more flight, obviously because of demand by vacationers. I usually book the Tamarindo Shuttle the first and last day of my vacation if I’m traveling alone. $20/person and relax and enjoy a very scenic and interesting drive to and from the airport which is just an hour away. Booking a car is highly recommended by my sons who always drive around a lot and why not especially if there are 3 or more in your party.

We furnished our Ocean/Mountain View La Perla residence, with the best for ourselves and for our guests. We shopped in Escazu, a very wealthy location in San Jose, where we purchased our Imported Italian Sectional, Denmark Sculptured Curved Glass T.V. stand and coffee table and bedroom furniture. Just take a look at the pictures, or call me if you have any questions,

Connie at 860-918-8715.

Other reasons why Playa Tamarindo is so much in demand is the walkable one mile sandy beach. It’s the calmest and safest to swim or take beginner surfing lessons although there are times when even advanced surfers come. It’s the only beach that has Life Guards, and Restaurants right on the beach. There are at least 60 restaurants in the town from extremely high levels to cafeteria level. It’s location between Playa Grande on one side which is for advanced surfers and swimmers is a short boat ride across the estuary. Playa Langosta on the other side is for advanced surfers but there’s minimal beach for walking. Playa Tamarindo’s one mile long sandy beach doesn’t get any better for a great walk . In the evenings people take pictures as they watch the Sunset over the Pacific. Playa Tamarindo , with many restaurants right on the beach, can enjoy a meal while watching the fishermen, and birds diving for their meals, and the surfers, right on the beach.

Since the sun rises and sets year round at 6, it’s important to be able to walk in the evening to restaurants, shopping, gyms, even a small Casino etc. Just give it a try or just relax at our large Community pool or use the exercise equipment in the Gym Building located above the pool/ or enjoy cooking at our State of the Art bar-b-cue area with spectacular views of the Pacific and the mountains in the background. .

The kitchen is equipped with stainless steel G.E. appliances, built-in microwave and convection oven plus all the smaller appliances every kitchen should have, and two coffee pots, just in case one malfunctions.

Sleeping quarters: Three bedrooms, 3-full bathrooms, 2 ensuites with walk-in closets and king beds. The master bedroom is also equipped with a pull-out queen sofa, and a 40” t.v. The third bedroom has 2 single beds, a Cedar Closet and night stand.. All 3 bedrooms have decks. All three bedrooms have huge floor to ceiling windows on the wall to the deck. You can see the mountains and the obstructed view of the ocean from every room except the bathrooms. It’s absolutely amazing, built, of course, to Earthquake standards unlike other new buildings in town. The windows are what make it so amazing rather than the usually layout for a condo of one sliding glass door at the end of the kitchen location. You just can’t get away from the outside unless you close the room darkening blinds . It doesn’t get any better, any more private or peaceful but it’s difficult to stop looking out all of the windows which I’ve already emphasized enough.

Choose us for all of these reasons. The reviews from our guests tell the story often better than I do. We offer you our home to enjoy as much or more than we do if that’s possible.

Refund Policy: If you have a problem, it would be our pleasure to work with you to reschedule.

About Constance Yuska 860-918-8715

2006 marked our first visit to Costa Rica. I was advised, by a friend, to book something on the Pacific. 2006 we initially put deposits on two condos which were a 25minute drive to Tamarindo and which Thank God, fell through. Flamingo was supposed to have a Mall and Marina coming. It's 2018 and that development never happened but it was a great selling point for those who bought the story. We returned in 2008 but this time booked a Condo with the absolute agreement that we were returning for the beauty and would “absolutely and positively" not look at condos. Obviously, that didn’t happen either. The condo we booked in Langosta was too long of a walk on a dirt road in the 88-95 weather with the sun beating down on you so we drove to Tamarindo rather than walking. We were scheduled to return home in two day when we finally got to see the Impressive LaPerla Condo Building perched up on a hill that was under construction. When I saw it was 2200 sq. ft., a 50% deposit was easy to part with immediately in 2008.

We closed 2 1/2 years later in July 2011. On our visit first vacation in 2006, we drove to Tamarindo everyday where there’s a town, people, activity, surf,.: Where there was something going on. Also, having two sons, we wanted a location that would entice them to come. Tamarindo has the right surf for beginners. It sits between Playas Langosta and Playa Grande, best choices for the advanced surfers. You can walk along the seashore to Playa Langosta or walk across or take a $2 boat ride across the Estuary to Playa Grande. Grande for the really advanced surfers. The water is refreshing and warm everywhere. It's sunny every day. You can walk to grocery stores, Medical Clinic , even a tennis court all of which are between 2-6 minute walk. There’s even a Casino, but more important, Cafe Tico for avid , coffee drinkers.

Constance Yuska 860-918-8715 purchased this condo in 2008

Why Constance Yuska 860-918-8715 chose Tamarindo

This property was the most desirable because of the short walk to town; the guarantee of a good night’s sleep away from the noise and activity of the town. it’s appeal to our, now adult sons who need to escape responsibilities in their adult lives. It’s location up on a hill provides spectacular views of the Pacific from the top of the gym, especially. The of the Howling Monkeys in trees across the street are almost more important than the view. It’s size, 2200 sq. ft. and Contemporary style are amazing but most important you’ll get a good night sleep on these New King & Twin Pillow-top mattresses or even the Italian sectional. It's quiet all day, especially important at night. You'll want a good night's sleep to get the most out of your vacation. It's just far enough from the noise of bars, traffic and restaurants. A Safe, quiet location with 24 hour Security Guards and just far enough away from the bustling activity of the town yet close enough to walk to the beach, and an amazing upscale town. Many restaurants are directly on the beach where you can watch the surfers, walk the mile-long-no rocks beach. It more than rivals Playa Grande and Playa Langosta which is a very long walk into town at 95 plus.

What makes this condo unique

The two condos we had put deposits on had Tunnel Vision like most condos everywhere with the exception being LaPerla Condos. The wall size windows in all rooms provide amazing, panoramic views. It reminds me of ‘Frank Lloyd Wright’s unique “one-with-nature" Design. The 15x15 round deck off of the kitchen is equipped with very comfortable, quality chairs and table. This is where you'll spend a lot of time relaxing and taking in the views. Exceptionally large canopies provide total protection from the direct rays of the sun. You can sit outside all day without needing any artificial protection from the sun and at the same time see and hear Ocean Sounds . The howling monkeys nest and swing from the branches of the trees across from the 2 major decks. You’ll see iguanas scurrying across the streets as you approach or up trees. Plenty of iguanas everywhere but they,ll run away if you come anywhere near them so Not to Worry.

Bedrooms: Taking into consideration the hot climate, I thought it best to encase the king and twin mattresses and all pillows in allergenic covers.

There are screens on the doors if you don't like air-conditioning. You may enjoy the ocean breeze at night or during the day, throughout most of year. September and October, especially, will probably be rainy, amazing downpours that last 10 minutes or so and the Reliable Sun comes out. It's not usually the best time to be there. The year I was there in October, I really didn’t experience the excessive rain so I was told. I found the downpours amazing, something I'd never experienced so I go down many different times of the year.I have a, very trustworthy and amazing property manager that I trust completely recommended by some Americans who own a condo in our building.

I want to let you know we had an amazing time. Thank you so much for offering your home away from home to us. We eventually found Cafe Tico - and LOVED it! Thanks again for everything.

Tamarindo’s location on the Pacific and it’s history with the U.S made it very desirable. Florida just didn’t appeal at all. In 06’, we put deposits on condos in Flamingo & Potrero but the agents’ tactics were questionable. We drove everyday to TAmarindoWe returned, however, in 08’ because of the Spectacular Beauty , the climate, the town . We totally agreed in 08” that we absolutely would not buy. I guess that wan’t so absolute! In 06, we stayed in Flamingo but drove to Tamarindo where there was something to do ager 6, when it’s pitch dark. People walking around, shopping, restaurants right on the beach, coffee shops etc.. You’ll get plenty of Vitamin D from the Reliable Sun. Ten days in Tamarindo and my nails harden. I’m good for 3 weeks when I return to Connecticut , Our condo assures a good night’s sleep not the case in some areas in Tamarindo which is an Active Town. It has everything from high end restaurants to food courts, gyms, surfboard rentals, tours etc.

Home away from home

  • 5 of 5

The property was great just a 10min. Walk from downtown Tamarindo. We had a group of 6 and the property was just what we needed. The property manager and staff were very helpful. I would definitely recommend this property to others. It was spacious, clean, and it just felt like home away from home.

Great condo for 2 couples or full family

  • 5 of 5

Very impressed with the condo furnishings, layout and location. Our trip was 2 couples -- everyone was comfortable with big beds & bathrooms, and we could have brought more with the twin beds in the 3rd bedroom + pullout in the master. Very comfortable patio chairs and the permanent awning is perfect to keep it shaded (important) in the afternoon. Pool/gym area was nicer than I expected. Easy walk to the beach and town (mainly the N end). This was my first time to CR and between Tamarindo and La Perla condos, I'm not sure I could have made better choices. Great sunset views & the monkeys played in the nearby trees where we could watch from our 2nd floor patio in the evenings. Antonio is a valuable asset -- very attentive, knows everyone, and can coordinate whatever you need.

Beautiful place to stay

  • 5 of 5

The condo is beautiful, and looked just like the photos. The unit was spacious and well appointed. It has all the creature comforts including Wifi, a big screen with Apple TV, and plenty of kitchen supplies.

The location is convenient, just a few minute walk down the hill to the main street in front of Witches Rock Surf Camp.

The property is safe and quiet at night.

Antonio, the manager, was great resource. He was friendly and responsive. There were a few small mechanical issues with the unit that he promptly addressed.

One small complaint- someone (probably another tenant) kept unplugging the golf cart we rented.

Overall it was a fantastic stay.

Great Apartment, horrible plumbing

  • 3 of 5

We stayed late August 2017.

Pros: The unit is lovely....large...well furnished. The property manager, Antonio, was responsive and helpful. You are a one block walk from the beach. There is indoor parking. On the second floor, the unit has a partially obstructed ocean view and the balcony is very pleasant in the morning, nice breezes, with monkeys in the distance. The bedding and furniture is in excellent condition, large TV, huge matter how nice your normal home, you will be impressed and like this unit. The wi-fi is reliable. There is a very nice pool with clean and working grills for you to use. (go just outside town to the Economy mart, or the in Tamarindo Auto Mercado, and buy fresh food-we did fish one night, burgers the other). Sunset views from the deck over the pool are literally postcard. We were off season, so had no problems with restaurant reservations or anything else. We loved, loved, loved, Costa Rica and Tamarindo.

Cons: (or, why only three stars ?) While we were there, the water didn't work, and unlike the States, building management does not post notices. (Surprise !!!) There was a major problem with the water line to the whole building, and as a result, we only had water sporadically. They would turn it on in the AM, and again in the PM...we learned to check the tank before using the bathroom, and post-beach we rinsed off at beach showers as water in unit was hit or miss. We bought bottled water (inexpensive at the Econo-Mercado outside town-about half price the Auto Mercado in Tamarindo and more local food). The dishwasher and left hand sink leaked, so we could not use the dishwasher-so we had to do dishes by hand, water supply willing. The bathtub with massage jets in the master bath doesn't work-not that we could have used it anyway.

I spoke to the Condo manager (not Antonio), who assured me it would be done by the end of our first day there...having done this sort of work myself, it would have been done in one day in N. America, but was still "in process" when we left a week later with no real change "at faucets". I'd rent this unit again, but only after assurance the water is fixed and the dishwasher repaired.

Owner's Response: Please see the following information I accessed on line to try to understand the problems you experienced. " The water shortage was due to the coming of “Tropical Storm Nate” which followed weeks of unusually heavy rains that had caused chaos in many Costa Rica communities from overflowing rivers, mud slides, washed out roads. 50% more rain than average. “This is a critical situation, the likes of which Costa Rica has not faced for many years.”President Luis Guillerno Sobes. The dishwasher is brand new so when I go down this week, we will see if the problem is resolved. I will update you as we’d love to have you return. For the 9 years we’ve owned our condo there has not been a storm of such magnitude in Costa Rica . As a matter of fact Property Owners are still dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy which devastated the east coast not that long ago or Puerto Rico for that matter. Hopefully the likelihood of vacationers everywhere experiencing such disaster will be less but then Mother Nature may have a different plan. We intend to maintain the 5***** responses for ourselves and for our guests. Things are almost back to U.S. standards. We look forward to having you back and glad you enjoyed Playa Tamarindo. Have a wonderful holiday!!! Sincerely, Connie

Great condo in great location.

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at this condo. It is roomy and modern. Good views and a close walk to downtown. Connie was very pleasant and easy to work with. Her manager Wilberth was also good to work with. He even helped us arrange our transportation to and from the airport. We rented a golf care one day and explored some the areas that are a bit out of town.
