About Vacasa, CA - Northern California Coast Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Peacful getaway

 • 5 of 5

This was a gem of a spot, feels like your out in the woods yet only a few minutes from town, and the coastal views. very quiet, a nice way to getaway from the hustle and bustle.

ADA Accessible - Very Nice but Not Very Luxurious

 • 4 of 5

So many rentals are not suitable for wheel chairs - this one is, including the huge master bathroom with handrails in shower and alongside toilet. Ramp from dirt/gravel parking area up to deck and entry to cabin.

Many reviews talk about the Not Luxurious furnishings. The cabin itself is very nice, but furnishings are what you'd expect at your son's college apartment. Full size kitchen had all the stuff we needed - except knives. There was a knife block filled with mismatched and non-functional cutting things. That little item needs attention - but everything else in the kitchen worked perfectly. Window screens were in good repair and with windows open, we had nice cross-breezes.

The fireplace appears to have been repaired. But the Lighting Instructions are so complicated that we opted to pass. We have a propane fireplace at home - you flip a switch and it comes on. This one requires much more along with a huge list of Warnings.

The hot tub appears to be nearly new. It was clean and worked fine, but it is a very basic model with few jets and very little horsepower. It did have a fun light show.

QUIET is the key word here. You are about a mile and a half from Mendocino restaurants and shopping area. The cabin is nestled into a remote forested area - nearest neighbor is about 100-yards away. If you like Total Quiet - this would be your place. If you like to be a little closer to the action, this may not be it. Mendocino is a delight and a quick drive. Highly recommend Harvest Market.

Great for a family of three

 • 5 of 5

We were looking to stay in a rental close to Fort Bragg to ride the Skunk Train. My 5 year old son loved the property and wondered why we just couldn't start living there permanently. My husband and I also had a wonderful retreat. It was the most relaxing family vacation we've had and much of that is due to the quality of the Redwood Rest. Bonus points for the fire place being functional. We excepted that it wouldn't be based on the other reviews.

Convenience in the woods

 • 4 of 5

If you're looking for a comfortable stay off the beaten path, consider this rental. It is close to Mendocino, but offers a completely different experience as it is tucked deep in the woods. Deer regularly graze around the house, the breezes are gentle and the living is easy. All the basics are there. It's easy to cook in this kitchen. The internet access is superb but be warned that you are on the edge of cell phone service. Success for the best carriers is a 50-50 proposition, and improves quite a bit when you're just outside the house.

Loved the quiet and the cool weather! Nicely equipped house!

 • 5 of 5

We loved this house. Want to go back already. Super quiet, cool and dark at night. Even the kids slept in! The kitchen was well equipped, internet worked well. Great proximity to Mendocino downtown but stil far away for comfort. Hot tub worked nicely. Thanks for a great vacation!
