Great size, well stocked.
Overall, a wonderful stay. Might consider tv upgrade and new oven in the near future. But very happy with accommodations and being able to contact owner easily.
The house is spacious and set up perfectly to enjoy the view of the lake and mtns
Perfect house for relaxing after hikes enjoying the fall foliage. We did lots of cooking and some baking and found everything we needed. Loved the deck and screened porch.
Best view in town!
My family and I had a fantastic 3-day weekend at this fabulous lake front home at Alpine Lake Resort. The house was fully equipped with everything needed while on vacation and the view is the best in the resort. Our trip was in October and the leaves were absolutely gorgeous. The location is perfect as well, with a 20 minute car ride to Swallow Falls State Park which is a must see for all!!! No complaints here :-).
Great lake views -- perfect for family gatherings!
We had 5 adults, 2 dogs, and 1 infant stay over the Labor Day weekend. Plenty of space for us to spread out. Very homey and clean. The weather wasn't cooperative half our trip, but having the lodge nearby for food and entertainment was a great bonus. When it wasn't raining, we took advantage of hiking trails, fishing, and kayaking.
A few minor downsides (but explained by owner in the description):
-- Beds were rather small (one queen, rest were doubles)
-- The only tv was downstairs (not on upper level where we mainly hung out)
-- We were unfamiliar with how to work the pellet stove (heater), so we were asked not to use it as a heat source.
Would highly recommend!
Glad you had a great holiday weekend Katie!
Old house but great location
House in need of major updates and repairs! The location to lake and other amenities was great!
We do have plans for updates this off season Debra, hope you come back to see them!
Beautiful Setting Great Times
The house was great. The upper level is a very open floor plan. There is no internet, we purchased a hotspot but it did not work. That actually was a good thing. My kids played with each other, went for walks and we made some great memories.
The location of the house is ideal, there is a fishing spot right across the street, the beach is within walking distance and the view of the stars from the deck was fabulous.
The weather was not the greatest while we were there. We had one good day weather wise, but even on the cloudy/cooler days it did not stop the family from using the canoe and the kids rented kayaks as well. The cost of the kayaks and the putt putt is very reasonable.
The tennis courts, the putt putt and the golf course are all in great shape. The lodge could use some updating. The food in the lodge was very good and reasonably priced.
On the one day where it poured, we went to the indoor pool and fitness center and had a great time. There is also a small game room.
The only negative was that the lower level laundry room had an odor, we just kept the door shut and it was fine.
Glad that you had such a good time despite the weather Caryn. I'll have our cleaning crew check on the odor in the laundry. Thanks for staying at The Highlander!
Skiing, waterfalls, and wineries are all about 30 minutes away!
