About Georgia Hayes

We are both natives of Charlotte. We went to rival high schools and then rival colleges before we met after college back in Charlotte. Despite our different views on ACC basketball and football, we both agree on our love for Lake Wylie.

Georgia Hayes purchased this cottage in 2013

Why Georgia Hayes chose Steele Creek

I grew up coming to Lake Wylie on the weekends to my parents cabin located very close to Sweetwater. After college I became a General Contractor, renovated their cabin and was able to live there while the renovations took place. (LUCKY ME!) Needless to say- I was hooked! I loved Lake Wylie. I had been looking for a place of my own and jumped at the opportunity when Sweetwater came on the market. The place needed some work, however it had a certain charm that I knew couldn't be passed up. We bought this wonderful cottage, renovated it for a year, and it is now available for rent.

What makes this cottage unique

Easy drive to downtown Charlotte, near Airport, yet a relaxed world away from crowds and noise.

Lovely stay at Sweetwater.

  • 5 of 5

Quiet neighborhood with lovely walking/hiking trails. Trees were in full color and weather was perfect. Nothing better than sitting on the dock and enjoying the view of the lake and wildlife. Sunsets are stunning. Great kitchen and lots of comfortable places to lounge in the house upstairs and down. Georgia was very responsive to any needs we had and we would love to come back and enjoy a visit again!

Peaceful and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

We rented this house to get away from Hurricane Irma, and spent 5 days, stress free, in the peace and quiet of the beautiful lake. The house was clean and comfortable. We loved sitting on the top deck watching the water, and the sunset. We did not do any water sports, as the weather was cool, but my husband fished and I sat on the dock and read. The walking paths around the community are wonderful. We took the dogs for a walk every morning and enjoyed the cooler weather. Georgia was great to work with. Very quick to respond to our questions and considerate of our situation.

Good Experience

  • 4 of 5

We really liked the home and enjoyed our stay. The house has a real comfortable feel to it and the views out over the water are beautiful. We had 4 people in our group and the house was plenty big enough for all of us. The dock provides a great view for watching the sun go down as well. The water/weather was a bit chilly over the weekend so we didn't get to use any of the rafts/kayaks.

Fabulous

  • 5 of 5

Such a great getaway! The owners have thought of everything to make your stay stress free. From labeling all the switches to details instructions in a book. Plenty of supplies if you run out of trash bags or toilet paper. The decks are amazing to relax and eat. I even had an afternoon nap and didn't wake up sweating. The breeze from the water is incredible! Few tips: bring bikes or running shoes, there's a cool sidewalk near the house. Rent a boat because you'll really want one. Other than that, amazing! We will be back.

Loved it!!

  • 4 of 5

This property is perfect! We absolutely loved the layout of the home and it's location. So impressed with the location and home that we have already requested the same week for next year. Typically we are OBX people and this was our first lake adventure and it was everything we hoped for and more! Still have a lot to see and do in the lake...looking forward to next year!

Great vacation spot

  • 5 of 5

Lovely well kept updated cottage with a great view and lots to do. We especially enjoyed the great kitchen, large porch to eat and hang out in. Bedrooms and baths were perfect with great linens, brightly painted walls and comfortable beds. Lots of storage room in both bedrooms and kitchen.

We loved the dock with seating to watch the sunset, and sandy beach with fire pit. And of course access to the canoe.

Its located close good hiking trail, and of course good places to eat like "Tbones" on the lake or a quick run into Charlotte itself. And may I recommend "Kings Kitchen" downtown, as a non profit restaurant with Great food and location. The owner Georgia was very welcoming and helpful no matter the question Thanks again for the great place!
