After working on and off in Buenos Aires for many years, in 2003 we finally came for vacation. We had such a great time...we loved the people, the architecture, the art...and of course the food. We decided we'd like to spend more time in Buenos Aires and in 2004, we cashed in our stock options for this apartment. Today, we live in Miami, but have a great manager who meets and greets our guests.
Valerie purchased this condo in 2004
We wanted to own an apartment in a major city that didn't require us to drive - a walking city, with good mass transportation or inexpensive taxis. It needed to have great architecture, style, art, music...and of course, incredible food.
We found Buenos Aires to have all this and more...and at a much lower cost than Europe. Like New York or Paris, every neighborhood is a new adventure.
We love the sidewalk cafes, the weekend art fairs, biking through the parks of Palermo. And while we always heard the steaks were great, no one ever told us about the homemade pasta...incredible.
Incredible view of the Recoleta cemetery. Jim took the initial listing picture from our balcony in the early morning. He won 3rd place in the Miami Herald photo contest for this image.
The location of this property makes it convenient to visit all of Buenos Aires. The Micro Centre, San Telmo and La Boca are to the South, while Palermo and Belgrano are to the North.

I liked the apartment immediately, the manager Max met me to welcome me and showed me the apartment amenities, it was super clean (Veronica clean), and in a great location. A very comfortable place for our three person party.. Could not have been happier, what I saw online at VRBO is what I got. Just a block to bus. subway access, all of BA accessible for 50 cents US per ride, we used public transport to everywhere, very easy, buy a SUBE card, add money at kioskos, then tell the driver your destination, bop your card, easy peasy.
Wonderful views, lots of nice eateries, and bakery sweets. Too many great cafes to mention.
Valerie and Jim, thanks for hosting me and my best friends, we felt so safe and welcome in Recoleta.
PS: I was happy to have Max take me to the airport on my last day, felt very confident that ride would be reliable.
We liked that the property was within a close proximity to everything in the barrio, great cafes & restaurants, shopping mall, Latin American museum, the famous Cemetery all within walking distance. Valerie and Max also were extremely knowledgeable about the area, quick to respond, kind and very helpful with any information we needed. We will definitely stay again at this property in Recoleta.
My wife and I stayed at this great apartment in June. It was perfect for our needs. Walking distance from the Recoleta Cemetery and the weekend craft fairs. Many, many cafes and restaurants within a few block radius. A nice little market next door and a good laundry nearby. And a shopping mall and movie theater if you're interested. It was nice being able to leave for overnight trips and not have to pack everything up each time. As many people gave commented the view ftom the balcony was amazing.
The real asset was Max. He was very helpful and easily reachable. We arranged for him to transport us to and from the airport. It was great to have a reliable source of help and information.
The apartment was safe and easily accesible, with just a couple of steps to the elevator level.
We'll definitely consider returning.
We decided for our first trip to Buenos Aries to stay in the Recoleta neighborhood and this condo was the perfect option for us. Great location, well equipped, comfortable, bright and airy one bedroom. We loved the beautiful view of the Recoleta Cemetery and the balcony for morning coffee and afternoon wine. Max, the local property manager, could not have been more helpful. Great restaurant and local activity suggestions. Spoke perfect English and was very quick to respond to questions or requests.
Between the view. The Bed. Bathroom. There is not one thing I can complain about with my experience. Max who helped me with the apartment not only speaks perfect english but was sped helpful with anything I needed.
Did I mention the view? It is by far one of the most spectacular views overlooking the Recoleta cemetery. Just incredible.
The views from this condo were superb especially at night! The contemporary condo
gave us all the comforts we needed while in Buenos Aires. The place is in the heart of both historical and cultural parts of the city. It is also surrounded by many restaurants and
other recreational sites. It was an awesome stay altogether.
restaurants, shopping mall, theatres, bus stop, laundry, hardware, schools, bakeries, pasta shops, butchers, hair salons, jewelry stores...
