Amberjack House is located right on the Northside Beach in Spanish Wells, Bahamas. If you are not familiar with the Northside Beach, it is one of the most beautiful, quiet, serene stretches of shoreline in the world. It's a sleepy beach with no crowds, white sand, and crystal clear water.
The house has three bedrooms and two baths, is 2100 square ft, and sleeps eight comfortably in beds (with 2 additional pull out beds for 10 guests). The master bedroom, living room, and dining room each have a set of french doors that open up to a large deck that overlooks the beach.
This home features wide open living spaces, vaulted ceilings, wall to wall tile floors throughout, a modern, state-of-the-art kitchen, and very nice, yet comfortable furnishings. It is fully air conditioned. The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of cookware and dishes for a crowd. There are two flatscreen TV's and DVD players, one in the living room and one in the master bedroom. The house was built in 2008, which is very new for Spanish Wells.
In November of 2015, we added a new boardwalk and beach deck from the house deck that extends directly to the edge of the beach. It's perfect for coffee in the morning, watching the kids play on the beach in the afternoon, and cocktails in the evening. It's really nice for when you want to hang out on the beach but don't feel like trekking all your stuff out into the sand. You just stroll down the boardwalk and kick back on one of our Adirondack chairs.
We also provide two Hobie Lanai kayaks, a paddle board, and two Huffy bicycles for guests.
What sets our house apart from other beach house rentals on Spanish Wells? The open floor plan, large covered deck, and the boardwalk to our beach side deck. The large rooms and open floor plan are unique for the island. Most of the beach fronts are older homes with tiny rooms. And very few of the newer homes have an open living room / dining room / kitchen area that opens up to a large, shaded beach deck. And the house is the only rental home that we know of on Spanish Wells that has a boardwalk that extends down to a beach side deck.
The house is located on 11th St right on the beach on the north side of the island. Note that there is a cemetery on Main Street from 10th to 11th. The cemetary is behind the house opposite the beach. It's a very pretty, very old little cemetary. It's quiet and provides extra privacy for the house. The landscaping behind our house hides it completely from view.
We spend about six weeks per year at Amberjack House. Since we spend so much time there, we've tried to make it as nice and comfortable as possible so that we can really enjoy ourselves while on vacation. Hopefully you will find our beach house as fun and relaxing as we do!

The beach of course! The floor plan is really nice too. It's great to have everything on one floor. We also really like the large, shaded deck that overlooks Northside Beach as well as our new beachside deck that is right on the beach. It's also within easy walking distance of just about everything in Spanish Wells. And finally, the fact that it is a newer build (2008) is a big plus. Many of the homes in Spanish Wells are rather old.

The large deck that overlooks the beach is also rare on the island. And the house is the only rental home that we know of on the island that has a boardwalk that extends down to the edge of the beach with a deck right on the beach.

Every thing you could want in a family vacation. A perfect place to stay, beautiful spot for swimming, kayaking, walking, running, kid friendly, and relaxing. Enjoy the sunrise and sunset. Fresh made conch salad at Budhi's around the corner, and homemade ice cream in the evening from Papa Scoops. Broke our heart to have to leave a day early, due to high winds coming and the boat not running for a couple days. Oh well. We will definitely be back. Everyone of the family loved it.
My husband and I booked this house for our delayed honeymoon over the week of Thanksgiving. It was just what we needed to relax and getaway from everything for a week. The house was very nice and we hope to bring back friends or family with us next time. We loved the Shipyard and Wreckers so much that we visited both twice. Shipyard had a fabulous Thanksgiving special. We just cannot say enough good things about this house and the island.
There are no words to explain the beauty you are surrounded by at this house!!! We stayed here for 7 days. The house has everything you need to cook meals, play in the ocean and relax with the family! Beds are SUPER comfy. Owner was so helpful and responsive! So quiet and peaceful. Will definitely be going back!
Amberjack House was everything we needed and more! It was so spacious and clean and it had all the utensils and household amenities we needed. We didn't even need to contact the Caretaker during our stay, until the day we left which was only just to meet him! (We had already connected with a friend to get our golfcart and get our luggage to the house). The location is great proximity to get to anything on the island in either direction, and the neighbors were very nice and respectful. We loved the boardwalk down to the beach and felt very comfortable watching our kids from the porch as they played up and down the boardwalk. Having 2 young children under 5, it was a HUGE treat to have all the children accommodations from pack n play and beach toys to even inside toys. My kids were entertained the whole time without us having to take our own toys. Above all, the homeowner, even though not local, was so easy to communicate with and so hospitable to work with some our our last minute travel changes. We would love to go back to Spanish Wells and stay at Amberjack house again in the future and would highly recommend to anyone for their stay! Thank you for sharing your special place!
Our stay was cut short 1 week because of the pending hurricane. Ryan [ the owner ] refunded our money for the week. The house was great for 2 couples, spacious, with everything you could want. This was our 3rd trip to Spanish Wells and definitely the nicest place we've stayed in yet. Would highly recommend the property to anyone going to S.W.
The house is located right in the middle of the island which was very nice for getting around. The proximity of the beach from the house was perfect for us since we traveled with our 19 month old son. We could leave sunscreen, towels, etc on the table outside and just walk out to the beach without having to pack a huge bag since it was such a close walk. The water was shallow enough for our son to play, but deep enough for us to lounge in. The house itself had every amenity you could ask for - coffee maker, microwave, dishwasher, washer & dryer, toaster.... There were plenty of dishes and pots/pans. The food on the island was delicious. The grocery store was close and not as expensive as I had anticipated. We also rented a golf cart which I would highly recommend. The place we rented from was 20 feet from where the water taxi dropped us off so it was super easy. The owner was very easy to work with and responded very quickly to any questions. Also, their website was very accurate and helpful.
