High Value at Great Price: Three Bedroom condo at Papakea Beach Resort

Ocean views in North Ka'anapali. This 4th floor condo features 2 bedrooms with bathrooms downstairs plus a loft bedroom, with 2 twins beds, and a half bathroom. The living room has a 37" LCD HDTV & Blu-ray player with property HD signal to match. The master bedroom has a regular 27" TV with standard channels. Queen size sofa sleeper and carpet new as of Oct '16. Full size washer and dryer is also provided. Bring your computer equipment and enjoy free wireless internet access in our condo. Resort features 2 pools, cabanas, tennis courts, putting greens, shuffleboard and plenty of gas BBQ's in the pool area to grill up the fresh catch of the day.

$17/day Facilities Use Fee (with a 10 day $170 maximum per calendar month) will be collected at check out, payable to the front desk.

Stay dates: April 21 - May 1, 2019: “We stayed here at the end of April 2019, for 10 days. My first impression was wow, what a view from the main bedroom. Absolutely beautiful. We chose this unit as we are a family of 5 with 3 adult kids too, so we needed the space. The 2 bedrooms and the loft space worked out fantastic. No issues with the sleeping arrangements at all. The 3 washrooms and 2 showers worked out perfectly too. The kitchen was perfectly adequate, though not the most modern in the world. But there again we weren't there to prepare 3 course meals every day. The deck was a little small to sit around the table with 5 people. The air-conditioning unit was very noisy. That was really our biggest complaint about the whole place. So no big deal. The resort was beautifully maintained. I regularly watched the grounds people tending the putting green and keeping the pool area in tip-top condition. The resort does not have a beach, so be aware of that if you are looking for one. Not really a concern for us. Its a beautiful 15min walk and you are on Kaanapali beach, probably one of the best beaches around. Very convenient for store access too. 2 min walk to a large market store and convenience store. Don't expect any food/drink places on the resort. There aren't any. Again, not a problem for us. The nearby larger resorts have all of that if you wanted to hang out in a bar or whatever. Thoroughly recommend staying here. You won't be disappointed. Everything was great for the stay. We thoroughly enjoyed the place. The only minor comments on the unit. Small ants in the kitchen all the time. I guess nothing you can do about that in the tropics!. The unit was generally great, but I feel could have done with a bit of a makeover. The kitchen was quite old. Having said that, I would definitely stay there again... Thanks Steve D.


Comfortable Stay!
5 Stars! Our family has a condo at Papakea but my dad was using the family unit so I rented this unit to accommodate my family of 4, my sister & her friend so we could all attend our dad's wedding which was also on resort. I loved the view from the Lanai and loved the spacious accommodations. We all had our own space and it was very comfortable.

Great location and loved the resort. My only complaint would be the cleanliness. The rug is so dirty you can’t even tell what color it’s supposed to be, and it looked like the ceiling fans have never been cleaned.

Good place, but misleading about A/C.

Property has everything you need. Communication w/ property manager was good, check-in was a breeze, and location was really good. My only complaint was the listing said that there was an A/C unit, but did not specify that it was a dinky little window-type A/C in the living room. NO A/C in any of the rooms. When you're out and about in the sun all day, you'd expect reprieve from the heat when you head back to home base. PLEASE update your listing to reflect that there is NO A/C for the ENTIRE property!

Beautiful building and grounds ROOM needs attention!

The grounds are immaculately kept. It is a beautiful location. The room needs some severe maintenance. Only the main open area has AC. The loft was hot and the master bedroom were hot. The AC only cooled the living area and kitchen on full blast. The air conditioner filters were dirty the dryer filters and inner area were filthy. The kitchen pulled out drawers almost fell out and hit you. The coffee pot and maker was broken.The ceiling fans were dusty and so was the area above the ceiling fans. Cleaning service needs to do a better job to make sure all of the dishes are clean there were dirty dishes in the cabinets. The bar stool was broken and seat was falling off. Having needed more bedrooms This was our best option for a large group. I have stayed in other rooms and I would suggest booking a different one.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Do Not Stay Here. Roaches...yes time of year for them and owner brought roach motels. But then we discovered under the sink either a pipe or garbage disposal was spewing food and water everywhere which attracted hundreds of roaches. We told the owner about this and they did not reply to us nor did they send anyone to fix the problem. Since we told them about the sink they went radio silent. Could not use kitchen as they were coming out of the toaster, microwave, stove, oven and sink. Groceries were thrown away and food in HI is not cheap. Very unsanitary and they carry diseases. I guess once they got paid in full they don’t care about issues while you stay there. It was disgusting. My daughter was getting married and when she went to put her wedding dress on there were roaches crawling on it. Do not recommend this property or any property chase ‘n rainbows manages.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It was by far the worst place I have stayed, as soon as we entered the condo there cockroaches on the kitchen counters, the stove, the walls and in the toaster. Disgusting.I rented a condo because I wanted to cook and not eat out because it gets expensive but that is what we had to do because the kitchen had so many roaches. I reached out to the property management office and I was told they couldn't do anything about it. The following day I reached out to chase'N Rainbows and was told it is part of being on an island. I have been to Maui many times and rented condos through chase'N Rainbows and NEVER have I seen one roach where I have stayed. Bottom line they did NOTHING ABOUT IT. Very disappointed and disgusted. Spend a little more and stay away from this place.

I tried contacting them on their emergency line and they did not get back to me for 12 hours even though the phone said 30min. When I finally got a ahold of the company, the were very rude and said if we want a different room we would have to pay $1,000 and it would only be a 2 bedroom instead of 3. The did not apologize for the feces or anything else. They would only give me 10% off and when I said that what they did was disgusting and horrible, the hung up on me. Its

Very frustrating after a long day of travel.

Reviewer Comments: We had a great time as we finished our two week trip to Hawaii to Oahu and Maui to see friends and show our 8 year old the islands he doesn't remember from his last trip at age 18 months! I thought maybe some of the "flashy" hotels we stayed at first would leave him disappointed with alow key condo complex but this was his favorite! Two pools! Shuffleboard was a huge hit! We got to grill hot dogs and have mac salad for a lazy lunch by the pool one day. We could have set out on more ambitious excursions daily but we so enjoyed this spacious condo and the relaxed atmosphere, we took full advantage of Papakea. Sitting around with friends and just enjoying stories and our family and friends. My husband and I stayed here many moons ago pre-kid with friends and it's exactly as I remember, just chill Hawaii vibes and beautiful views. Staff was friendly and helpful and the location to Lahaina and restaurants was great! Look forward to returning! My son said as we left, I wish we lived at Papakea. He loved his loft bedroom!! ;) 'Nuff said!

Great location

It was wonderful the only issues I had were that one they fumigated the property and inside the condo the day after we got there. There where several cats around so it made it look like there might be a pest problem. Second the condo is outdated it was spacious but it could really do with an overall upgrade.
