Offering the feel of a small gated estate, this walled and ficus screened property offers privacy, luxury, breathtaking mountain views, and intimate indoor and outdoor niches for cocktails, dining, reading, meditation, taking in the view, or just poolside lounging. The front gardens have a dramatic vista of the mountains surrounding Tahquitz Canyon. Professionally landscaped, look for green lawns, roses, palms, citrus trees, and bougainvillea. Built in 1938 and thoughtfully remodeled in 2012, this hacienda lodge style home harkens to period Palm Springs charm.

HOME & LIFESTYLE: Located close to town, but in the quiet Tahquitz River Estates (Deepwell) neighborhood, Casa de Palma is situated on a large lot and is surrounded by thick ficus hedging... creating a secluded and serene private retreat. The interior offers comfort and style. There are two working gas fireplaces; the family room is large and the home is well decorated with thoughtful and beautiful Restoration Hardware and Kreiss furnishings. There is also a 46 inch flat screen Samsung 'SmartTV' with premium cable, DVR, and blu ray. This room has a second dining area adjacent to the Mexican tile fireplace. French doors open to the pool for a seamless inside/outside lifestyle. The backyard has stunning mountain vistas with shaded seating and dining areas next to the wall fountain. A professional misting system surrounds the pool and dining areas for warm-season comfort. In the evening, the landscape and pool lighting creates a dramatic resort feel.

THE LOCATION: Casa de Palma is located less than a mile from Central Palm Springs and is just 1.5 miles to the popular Cheeky’s and Jakes restaurants and 'Koffi' on N. Palm Canyon. You may drive there, but you can also walk there in 20 - 25 minutes ... or have "Bike Palm Springs" bike rentals deliver for a quick ride to the heart of it all. You can also bike or walk to nearby restaurants at the end of our street and to the Koffi on Palm Canyon at S. Camino Real... just a 10 minute walk. Other nearby stores and restaurants are Ralphs, Jensens, The Ace, Le Horizon, and The Saguaro.

Finally, the free downtown PS BUZZ trolley stops near the end of our street (at E. Mesquite) every 15 minutes (11am - 1am Thur-Sun) ... It's a quick way to get to the heart of town and back. No car needed.

FOR HIKERS: The Valley's most popular hiking area is the Tahquitz Canyon Mountain and Waterfall recreation area. The entrance is practically at the end of the street! It's literally a 5 minute walk. The canyon and mountains form a dramatic backdrop from the house and the hiking is the best in the area. The waterfall hiking 'reward' is quick and not too challenging.

THE HOME'S LAYOUT: Three bedrooms make this home an ideal family or couples retreat. The master has a king bed with beamed ceilings and a 48' flat screen TV. The main guest room is off the pool with a queen bed. The third bedroom with views to the front garden has a queen bed now - though the pictures show twins. There are two full baths with drenching rain showers and there is a whole-house "no-wait" hot water recirculation system. There are flat screen TV’s in every bedroom. There is also a large, detached bonus suite. While not exactly a casita, it’s completely separate and has two overflow twin beds plus laundry with 2 sets of stacked washers and dryers. There are also plenty of pool "floaties" stored in the casita.

Casa de Palma is a special property. It's quintessential Palm Springs style and resort feel make it a natural choice!

Guests: Please note that our daily rate INCLUDES THE UTILITY FEE (which many properties charge) which covers your pool heating and A/C... as the house is completely SOLAR powered! Plus, the pool and spa are ipad controlled for EZ operation.

We just had to have 'Spanish'. It's what speaks to us. We love mid-century and modern, but 'Spanish Colonial Revival' architecture and elegant private flowering gardens say 'home' to us in CA. Plus, the property feels like a mini-estate: gated, screened by walls and hedges... totally private. We loved it from 'go'.

What makes this House unique

The privacy, the close-in location, the architecture, and the pool/spa are the best reasons to stay at Casa de Palma. No matter the weather, the mountain view hot tub/spa is the best! The pool and spa are i-pad controlled and easy to operate. The property is secured with a combination lock pedestrian gate and automatic automobile gates. Solar power operates the entire home and A/C.

                                                  We stayed at Casa Del Palma the last week of March with our 2 adult children. It was a fabulous house. It had everything we needed and the furnishings are top notch. We loved the pool and the outdoor grill. The view was stunning!! We cooked multiple meals at the home, and the kitchen was equipped perfectly.

                                                  The curb appeal as you arrive at Casa Del Palma sets the tone, this home is amazing. Love the old Spanish charm, its cozy, comfortable and extremely well appointed everything about this home made it feel like home from the second we arrive. There wasn't one thing that we needed that wasn't supplied. The out door living space is exceptional. Best winter break ever both my husband and I have never been so relaxed and recharged. This is my new favorite holiday. Can't wait to return hopefully for a month not just a week.

                                                  I can't speak highly enough about both this house and its owner. Perfectly equipped and lovely inside and out. The owner was incredibly responsive to one request we had. I would love to return again and again. It is beautiful and comfortable - sometimes a tough balance - especially with a rental. There were 4 of us (2 couples) in for Oldchella. We enjoyed lovely brunches in a serene outdoor nook, and enjoyed the pool each day before heading to great music. Beds are very comfortable with everything you might need. Conveniently located to the center of town - with bikes at the ready. Many thanks, Kevin!

                                                  We honestly felt like we walked into someone's home and took over!! We loved that there were some spices and condiments left behind!! Made it so easy to prepare meals and not have to re buy everything!! They even had tin foil and plastic wrap and Gladd bags!!! We are coming back for sure only for longer next time!!

                                                  This was a return stay for my husband & I think that says a lot, at least for us, as we don't usually return to the same properties but this property is truly very special. Everything that you need is available and easy to locate, the organization in the home is incredible. Our favorite feature of this property however remains the back yard pool area. We love to hike and golf in the mornings and early afternoons and coming back to this amazing yard & pool in which to relax is a real bonus. The street is very quiet and I even took the bike out a couple of mornings for a fun ride around the neighborhood. My husband is a business owner and this place has become a retreat of sorts for him where he can truly get away from most of the usual rush of his business life so it becomes almost therapeutic for him. We had very nice days for our stay and will treasure the memories of our 2nd stay. Thanks so much for the wonderful accommodations!!!!
