Overview

About the property

Beautiful and secluded 4 bedroom 2 bath house, easily sleeps 12+, on 35 acres in the mountains. The Restin' at Weston is a great getaway place to relax and recharge away from the bustle and noise of busier areas in Colorado. The house is over 1800 square feet, with a huge deck on the back overlooking the valley. Both North Lake and Monument Lake are nearby, with great trout fishing. There is also access to the Purgatorie Creek on the Nork Fork Greenbelt.

Nearby you can find the Spanish Peaks, the Bosque Del Oso, and several other forests and wildlife areas. Colorado towns such as Stonewall, Cuchara and LaVeta are just a short 15-35 minute drive away. This will give you several dining, shopping, and entertainment options.

You may see deer, elk, turkey and other wildlife from either deck on our house.

There is no satellite or cable service, but there is a 3g cell phone booster on site which maintains good cell coverage inside the house. There is also a 72' tv in the family room with a Nintendo Wii and a DVD player with a good selection of movies.

The beautiful Master suite features a King size bed and a spacious bathroom with a shower and tub.

One of the bedrooms is set up as a bunk room with 2 sets of bunk beds. Another bedroom has 2 twin beds, the basement bedroom has a set of bunk beds and a twin bed. There are 2 couches in the front room large enough to sleep on.

The kitchen is fully stocked and spacious, and there is a Weber grill for grilling out on the deck.

The family room has a nice woodburning stove for those cool Colorado nights.

We now have new neighbors right around the corner. They have ATV's for rent and more access to the river if you want to fish. If you are interested let us know and we will get you hooked up. If our place is busy the days you would like to stay, contact us anyhow, we may have another great option for you.

Beautiful scenery and lovely cabin

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time at this cabin. Not too far to the Sand Dunes and hot springs. We were a little disappointed to find the telescope was only for display. Maybe just lock it up in storage rather than tease us with it. Thanks for the wonderful new years!

Restin' at Weston

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay for the week. We got married in Trinidad, and treated this week as a Honeymoon/Family vacation. The cabin was large enough to comfortably fit all 10 of us, with room to spare! The Southern Colorado climate, and beauty can not be beat..... seriously! We enjoyed a day traveling down to Raton, New Mexico, and I would highly recommend that to anyone! It is gorgeous! Wildlife all around to view near the cabin as well. We got to see part of the Pinon County Elk Herd, and more Mule Deer than we could shake a stick at. We also had great success trout fishing at Monument, Bear, and Blue Lake. We spent another day climbing the West Spanish Peak. This is a fairly easy climb with views to kill! Another must is eating at Bob and Earls Cafe in Trinidad. Get the Green Chile Breakfast Burrito, you will thank me for that advice! This is the best vacation I have been on, and the cabin made it!!! The owners are great, and the facilities were clean and comfortable. We spent every morning drinking coffee, and watching the hummingbirds eat. I LOVE RESTIN' AT WESTON!!!

Very rustic!

  • 3 of 5

I was pleasantly surprised how attentive the owners were to our needs and questions before, during and after our stay. We used this cabin as our base camp while visiting Cuchara, LaVeta, Manitou Springs, Bishop Castle, Pagosa Springs, Hooper Pool, Zapata Falls and the Sand Dunes. The cons: the cabin is a bit tired; the couches are worn; basement had a moldy smell; railings outside were very loose and upstairs rails were insufficient for children; guest room with 2 beds had a pungent smell on the right side of the window after a rain. The pros: can't beat the $100 price; the view; and openness of a the cabin. Overall we enjoyed the beautiful Colorado scenery and our stay.

Breathtaking views - gorgeous location!

  • 5 of 5

My husband, our 2 dogs, and I enjoyed a very gorgeous week in early June at this cabin, and it is still on my mind as one of the most lovely and relaxing places I've ever been to. One of our dogs had cancer and he spent the last week of his life in this cabin, so it's very very special to us. On the day we came back home to Texas he passed away. Todd and Jared are very attentive and great managers of the property. We hiked, read, made amazing dinners, and I loved taking hot baths in the nice tub with the window wide open - that mountain air! If you're hesitating to rent this place for whatever reason, don't be, you won't be disappointed. I expect to be back soon.
