Benvenuti nella nostra baita nella pittoresca valle del fiume Cucharas, circondata dalla foresta nazionale di San Isabel, vicino a Hiway 12, Scenic Hiway of Legends.

Goditi le affascinanti città di Cucharas e La Veta in fondo alla strada, fai qualche giro al Grandote Golf Course, progettato da Tom Weiskopf, fai escursioni su numerosi sentieri di montagna, pesca l'orso e i laghi blu o metti i piedi sul ponte e guarda il tramonto sulla valle.

Dalla nostra accogliente cabina, recentemente aggiornata, sentirete il fiume Cucharas che scorre veloce proprio sotto la proprietà. Forniamo un lussuoso letto matrimoniale con annesso bagno completo nella camera da letto 1, un lussuoso letto matrimoniale nella camera 2, e un lussuoso letto matrimoniale e un set di letti a castello nella terza camera da letto, proprio di fronte al secondo bagno completo. Una cucina spaziosa e ben fornita, un grande tavolo per pasti e giochi, un bellissimo camino in pietra e mobili comodi ti aspettano. Una lavatrice e asciugatrice full size si trovano tra le camere da letto.

Sono disponibili una TV a schermo piatto con solo DVD (nessun servizio TV) e una videoteca, oltre a puzzle, libri e giochi. Il WiFi gratuito è disponibile a Cuchara.

Un'attività preferita è un'escursione di 45 minuti fino alle spettacolari formazioni di dighe geologiche proprio dietro la cabina, dove si affaccia una valle isolata ... fare un pranzo al sacco e un libro per un pomeriggio perfetto.

Oppure fai una passeggiata di 10 minuti a Cuchara, dove tornerai indietro nel tempo. Goditi la musica dal vivo al Dog Bar o fai una cena elegante al ristorante Timbers, gioca a putt putt golf o esplora i negozi alla ricerca di tesori.

Proprio di fronte a Hiway 12 troverete la pesca alla trota a Bear e Blue Lakes o semplicemente serpeggiare tra le incantevoli escursioni tra i laghi. Guida fino al Passo Cucharas, dove gli avventurosi possono fare un'escursione sul Picco spagnolo occidentale.

Un'incantevole gita di un giorno è di 2+ ore a Taos per lo shopping, il pranzo, più shopping e ritorno in cabina al buio. O sperimenta un giro sulla vecchia ferrovia a scartamento ridotto Cumbres / Toltec, anche sulla strada per Taos.

Di ritorno in cabina, rilassati e goditi i colibrì fuori dal ponte, il suono del fiume e possibilmente un'ubicazione dell'orso. Ci sarà ancora molto da fare domani!

This place is a perfect and peaceful place to rent it’s close to Bear lake and blue lake! The little creek behind the cabin is pretty! The Mountain View in the mornings and at sunset is beautiful! The host is super nice!

Great stay in Cuchara!

This property was immaculate upon arrival. We loved sitting on the deck listening to the creek. Peaceful and beautiful area with kind neighbors. Blue lake and Bear lake were a highlight. The cabin is very well appointed with every thing you need. Definitely recommend. We will be back.

It was a great place. Even though it’s in the Spanish Peaks neighborhood, the trees surrounding the house gave it a sense of seclusion.

The best little getaway

With my mother aging, my sister-in-law, my daughter, and I love taking her to Cuchara. She loves to hear the streams and see the beautiful mountains. I love this cabin, we have dubbed it, "our cabin". It is always super clean upon arrival and the kitchen is stocked with everything you need.

We recently stayed at the cabin with friends and had a great time. It was comfortable with plenty of room. For 3 couples it was perfect with 3 bedrooms. The cabin was clean with all the amenities of home. It is a convenient location, close to Cuchara and the lakes. We enjoyed the hummingbirds on the deck. Janet was great and good to work with. I would highly recommend staying here.

Beautiful but no service

The property was beautiful, a little old and out of date but nothing that took away from the experience. Hummingbirds we’re so awesome. Location was absolutely stunning, there is a trail in the neighborhood that has an incredible view from the top of the mountain. Would definitely stay here again. Only downside was that the owner did not let us know that there would be absolutely zero service within a 10 mile radius. When we got to the property, we couldn’t log into our phones to see the check in code. We had to drive about 15 min out, get service, pull up reservation details and come back. Would have been nice to be told to have that information ready prior to arriving. Was not fun to do that after a 10 hour drive. Also, there was a coffee maker but no coffee. Bring your own so you can sit on the porch in the morning!

Hi Celeste, We're sorry that you had an issue with cell service, it is notoriously sketchy in the mountains, and depends somewhat on which carrier you have. For ATT, I can often get it in the cabin, but if not, standing out in the driveway usually works. I've never had to drive 10 miles, I'm sure that was frustrating. In your confirmation notice, I always suggest accessing the reservation details with directions, access code, etc. before leaving on your trip, since you are heading into a small mountain community. While we do provide a fully stocked kitchen in terms of cookware, dishes, etc., we do not provide food of any sort. We're so glad you enjoyed your coffee on the deck! Nice cabin

We enjoyed our stay at this cabin. As VRBO owners ourselves we're keenly aware of how other properties look and feel. This cabin has great beds & linens. The hall bath is a nice size, but the master is much smaller. We enjoyed the hummingbirds outside the window and took time to refill their food and take some slo-mo movies -- a real treat. The deck furniture needs to be replaced and we didn't feel it pulled us to sit outside, so we had all our meals at the dining table, in fact we were a little afraid of breaking the outside furniture if we sat in the wood chairs. The magnavox record player is unique, but not really for use -- takes up some valuable space in the living room that could otherwise be better used. The TV set is very small, -- not really easy to watch it from across the room, but it is new and DVD's can be played on them -- bring some of your own for variety. The couch was very comfortable and worthy of a few good naps. We didn't get to try the fireplace. Some kitchen supplies are very old, but it is well appointed. We loved the quiet neighborhood and our walks throughout. Just a note: if you have AT&T don't expect any service in or outside of the cabin, but if you're on Verizon you can get it in spots in the living room. As advertised: this home does not offer internet at all -- so go downtown to catch any phone calls or emails. There's also no line phone in the home. Coffee maker worked great, so did the dishwasher and stove. It's a great price for the offerings.

Thanks for your kind words on our beds, linens, sofa, appliances and general ambiance. We do strive to make it an exceptionally clean, cozy, comfortable mountain experience. On our next trip there in a few weeks, we plan to add new deck furnishings, upgrade the TV and add DVDs....appreciate your input there. Verizon does seem to have the best service in the area, though we do have luck with AT&T, though more sporadically....often on the deck or in the driveway. We view it as a way to get away from it all for just a while!

Best little cabin

We've stayed here several times throughout the years. We absolutely love it! We love the 70's feel and the cleanliness of the cabin. The internet is hit and miss but we're on vacation and want to enjoy the beauty around us.

Beat the Heat in Colorado

Very nice, relaxing stay! Cool temperatures were refreshing. My grandsons enjoyed playing in Cuchara Creek and we all fished at nearby North Lake.

Cuchara Cabin

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely cabin in Cuchara. The kitchen was well stocked and there were plenty of towels and linens. The cabin is in a beautiful location close to many recreational opportunities. Thank you to Janet for offering up your cabin for rental and to Shella for keeping the place so clean and tidy.

Tucked Away

Really nice little cabin. Back deck was awesome, secluded by trees and could listen to the creek below. Cabin was well set up and the host and caretaker did an really great job at communicating with us prior to and during the stay.

Our family fell in love with this wonderful valley in the 1950's and we are thrilled to now have this mountain getaway. Being from Texas, there's nothing like the cool mountains in the summer. Every visit we discover another treasure in the quaint towns of Cuchara and La Veta, not to mention the woods, streams and lakes. We hope you will too.
