Come stay with us and you will find out why Squeeze Me In, in historic Grayton Beach, is cute as a "bugs ear." This cottage was originally designed for the daughter of a Grayton builder. Squeeze Me In has been recently renovated (including the refinishing of its original hardwood pine floors) while keeping the character and charm of this adorable little bungalow.
Tucked back on DeFuniak Street just four short blocks from the beach and downtown Grayton, this cottage is a perfect choice for couples or a small family who want to "get away" from the hustle and bustle. Enjoy listening to the birds on your private porch swing, watching the stars at night, or relaxing in the cooling breezes from the Gulf. Park your car and walk to local restaurants such as the landmark Red Bar, well-known for its signature crab cakes and family-friendly atmosphere, unique shops, and markets. One stay and you will be saying "Please Squeeze Me In."

Great location. We would rent there again!
Loved the location. Grayton Beach is such a cute and laid back community. Easy walk to the beach, dining and shops. House size was perfect for us and clean although the washing machine was moldy and smelly so we weren’t comfortable washing clothes which was a little inconvenient. Door locks weren’t functioning properly when we got there but maintenence showed up to fix the problem and we were given a late checkout at no charge for the inconvenience.
Great location and amenities for small family
This home was perfect for our family of three. Easy walking distance to everything you want to do in Grayton, with a well-equipped kitchen for when you want to stay in and cook. The grill was perfect for Labor Day steaks. The house is set back from the street so it stays quiet and the oak trees make for plenty of shade to enjoy the screened porch.
Not very clean!!!Roaches and cat hair, its called a bugs ear for a reason!
Pros First- great location, 5 min walk from the beach and is nestled behind a couple of other houses. Has a great screened in porch. You can walk to Red bar--- best food!! The trip was great but the accommodations were not. I chose this place cause it had good reviews and could bring our dog. So I guess I am the one who had the bad experience. CONS!!!!---!!! We got there and there were dead ROACHES ("palmetto bugs" but still a roach- I googled them) in the kitchen, master bath, master bedroom, and kitchen cabinet. Cat hair was all over the sheets, bedspread, couch, and master bathroom floor. Needless to say I spent the first evening washing all the bedding, towels, cleaning the kitchen and washing some dishes for my daughter and I to use for the visit. I called the rental company when we arrived and got no response so contacted the owner. I also took pics that I sent her. She reimbursed me 100$ for all that. Never got a return call from the rental company. Chased down a live roach a couple days later. The showers are full of mildew. Just years of caulk caked on over and over again. The shower curtain is pretty yucky with mildew in the hall bath. If you are looking for a clean home away from home, this isnt it, at least not for my family/friends. If you have small children who are crawling on the floor , stay somewhere else. If the linens arent clean then I am pretty sure the floor isnt either. There was no mop for me to mop, just a broom. The cleaning people really need to be reevaluated. You will need to bring pot holders, a hair dryer, and a blanket to curl up with on the couch, none of these items are provided. If it werent for the uncleanliness then it would probably be a 3star. If you are ok with "rustic" 4h camp type of quartes then its perfect. If not the stay somewhere else. Like I said the setting is great, house has potential, but we felt very yucky while there.
Grayton Beach has a great community of visitors and residents, all there to enjoy the sun, sea and surf! Living at Bugs Ear made you feel part of that community, rather than a tourist, and privileged to use such a cosy home. Well-decorated, well-equipped (but no Wifi for 5 days), and within easy reach of shops, beach, and the state park, it was welcoming and just the right size for two adults and two teenagers. The only downside is if you enjoy a degree of privacy when eating outdoors or lazing on the porch, then you might find its tucked-in location behind and alongside neighbouring properties a little intrusive.
Get Away Paradise
I have had five winter/spring stays and relish the cottage. It has "Old Florida" charm, up to date conveniences and peaceful ambience. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped, and a large screen TV is great. I particularly enjoy the hanging swing on the porch for reading and listening to the surf on a quiet night.
My fiance and I really enjoyed our stay in this adorable cottage located in the heart of historic Grayton. Within walking distance to beautiful beaches, western lake, and tons of unique restaurants with live music. Wonderful spot for a weekend getaway!
