Rackett Enterprise LLC was started in 2006 with the encouragement of our parents, Bill & Jean Marie Rackett. There are 9 children in our family between the ages of 65 and 48. Our goal is to remain a close knit family in our later years of life. Mom and Dad always provided us with opportunities to get together for the holidays, vacations, picnics and sleepovers so their 9 children, 29 grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren would be able to spend time together. By starting this business, our parents knew we would have a meeting each year so we would never lose our family connection when they were no longer with us. In February, 2014 our dad went to heaven to be with his wife of 60 years. We have a beautiful historic home in Lebanon, Ohio where we grew up and have wonderful memories. Now, the dilemma is: What do we do with this 5 bedroom home?

Our business would like to provide families, business men or women or couples a “HOME AWAY FROM HOME” in historic Lebanon, Ohio. We would like to make your stay when you travel as comfortable as possible. No more hotel rooms! No more living out of a suitcase! No more being cramped or having noisy people next to you because now you have a WHOLE HOUSE and not just a room.

Our home is very spacious (as you can imagine with 9 children). You will have a living room, family room, closed in porch, large kitchen equipped with everything you need to cook, one and half bathrooms, patio, beautifully landscaped back yard and 5 bedrooms to choose from. It also is on the historic register in Lebanon, Ohio.

About Rackett Enterprise LLC / Mary Ellen DeLaney

There are 9 children in our family and we are excited about renting our family home as a vacation rental. We want everyone to enjoy the history of our home, the decor and the peacefulness. It is located on a quiet street in Lebanon, Ohio, just minutes from the famous Golden Lamb restaurant.

Rackett Enterprise LLC / Mary Ellen DeLaney purchased this house in 1968

Why Rackett Enterprise LLC / Mary Ellen DeLaney chose Lebanon

Our home is on the historic register and was built in 1808. The history of our home is fascinating. We want people to enjoy having the freedom of an entire house, not just a hotel room. We want this to be your 'Home Away From Home'

What makes this house unique

The benefits are endless. You can walk to the Golden Lamb, you can take a train ride at the end of our street and the antiques in Lebanon are everywhere! We are close to Cincinnati, Dayton and Columbus, Ohio for any one day trips. There is also a public golf course within 2 blocks from our home. Outlet malls are within 10 minutes from our home as well as the Miami Valley Casino.

IF you are sharing our home with different families, the individual amount each family will pay is minimal.

Guestbook comments from the owner

It is such an honor to have someone come back to our home, not only once, but two times! I feel like we are family and I love the contact we have. I truly feel like we are "family" and can't wait until the next time. See you next year!

Lovely, spacious, historic home in quiet neighborhood!

  • 5 of 5

I recently reserved the Carriage House to accommodate our family and bridesmaids from out of town for our daughter's wedding. From the moment I spoke with Mary Ellen, I felt so welcomed! On our arrival she surprised us all with a decorated Bridal Suite for my daughter and yummy pretty, cupcakes in the sun room with adorable plates and napkins plus homemade bread! The house is huge with everything you need. The backyard is picturesque! The kitchen is great for cooking family meals. The home is furnished with plenty of comfortable seating and comfy beds. This beautiful home is only a block or so from historic, quaint downtown Lebanon with shops and unique small town restaurants. We had a wonderful weekend!!! Thank you Mary Ellen and family!!! We loved the Carriage House!

Owner's Response: Beth and Family, We all had so much fun getting ready for the wedding! Beth and I talked many times and I felt like I knew her from the beginning. She was very conscientious when it came to not disturbing our neighbors. She let me know all of her plans and I felt confident from the beginning that she was the kind of renter we dream of sharing our home with! Thank you so much, Beth! Mary Ellen and Family

A comfortable home in a beautiful neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

We rented the house to hold a corporate retreat/strategic planning session. The house has a comfortable "homey" feel in a quiet neighborhood of historic homes. It's a short, pleasant walk to the Golden Lamb and fit our needs perfectly.

There's a whole lot of history to be discovered if you just look around. The house is an experience all by itself...but there are the family touches everywhere, making you feel like the family has invited you in. Highly recommend...loved it!

Charming historic home in quiet neighborhood - highly recommended!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this beautiful historic home all weekend to attend our son's wedding at a local venue. It was a perfect fit for our needs - 2 blocks from downtown historic Lebanon, close to local grocery stores/restaurants. House was clean, neighborhood is quiet, street is low travel. Charming and perfect! Owners are a wonderful family who want to share their family's local heritage.

Great experience!

  • 4 of 5

We had a great stay at this 1808 Historic Home! It was like going back in time which made our first visit to Lebanon, Ohio very special. The house was able to accommodate well all our family of 9 people. We even managed using the 1 bathroom and a half with no problems. The shower was very nice, it was good to have air conditioning, the kitchen could use a light remodel and organization, and the master bedroom mattress were too soft so I (the mom) had some back problems, but overall we enjoyed our time there. There was the smell of an old house but we got used to it eventually, after all it is a 209 year old home!

The best thing tho was communicating with the house's owner Mary Ellen, the nicest person I have ever known. It was also wonderful to be able to walk to downtown and have breakfast and a tour of the The Golden Lamb historic hotel.

We had a wonderful. relaxing time in this beautiful old home.

  • 4 of 5

The house is located in a nice residential area very close to shops downtown. We enjoyed the historic feel of high ceilings and rippled window glass. The front porch was great for sitting with a drink and we had the extra benefit of a thunderstorm to provide a show while we relaxed. The house was clean and Mary Ellen was very welcoming in all our correspondence. Should I ever decide to "run away from home" again I would definitely consider returning to the 1808 historic home.

Owner's Response: It is such a great feeling to know that our renters can relax and escape from their everyday responsibilities. Our front porch seems to be a wonderful gathering place for all. Our location is perfect for a walk downtown to visit the Ice Cream Parlor or Chocolate Factory. If you want to enjoy a quiet lunch or dinner at the Historic Golden Lamb, the oldest Inn in Ohio, you can walk downtown in a few minutes. Our home is large enough that people who have rented from us said it is easy to get away and find peace no matter how many people are with you. The rooms are large enough to have a group of people enjoy game night or watch TV together.
