Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have been coming to Jekyll since the early 80's and look forward to each visit we make to the island. This was the first time we stayed at Millican and primarily chose it for its close walk to the beach (one block away). This was the best part of the house! The enclosed porch was a great place to sit and enjoy the sound of the waves while having a morning coffee and an evening Whisky (or vise versa). The house did have some fit and finish problems - mold in the washer, every wall and ceiling was painted the same color and made it VERY dark, no way to rinse our feet after the beach, no baking pans, some fixtures were loose and falling off, but nothing that dampened our vacation. While the location was great, we would definitely not stay in this house again.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: *Property description was accurate.*Property inside was reasonably clean. Shower stall needs to be regrouted. Master bedroom queen size bed mattress foam overlay does is too small and slides around on the mattress; it is covered with thick plastic which is noticeable and uncomfortable through the bed sheets. There was an ants nest behind the guest bathroom tub. The ants came out in great numbers twice when the tub faucet was turned on. When alerted, Jekyll Island Management quickly sent over a pest control representative to combat the problem.The outside doors, windows and screen are very dirty. I cleaned the two carport doors and window myself. The porch could use a cleaning. The yard is poorly maintained, there's a very unsightly overturned tree stump on the west side.* Manager provided good service* I would recommend the property, provided the issues mentioned are taken care of.* We golf, ride bicycles, walk the beach, attend local events and read when it rains. This year's March weather was excellent for that.

The residence is very comfortable and well maintained with comfortable furnishings. It was clean and did not lack for anything. There is a well furnished kitchen to do cooking while there - but there are too many restaurants on Jekyll to enjoy versus cooking.

Not worth the money

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Shabby furniture, the kitchen table and chairs were so old. The washer did not work, reported it 2-20, they ended up replacing the washer and dryer on 3-14, we left on 3-18. Too much furniture, remove some items for easier movement. Kitchen utensils were not good, no room for anything we brought. Screened porch was nice, but dirty. Vacuum was a joke and no pail to use to clean. I would never stay here again and will not recommend the place.

Everything was very nice, spacious and homey feel. Loved the screened in porch and easy access to the beach. Carport was a plus for loading and unloading as well!

Comfort and close to beach

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The unit is comfortable for two people. There is very little storage space. One closet is taken up by the furnace. The other is very dark and has limited space as well. The kitchen is packed with pots, pans, dishes etc., leaving no place to put food but on the counter and mantle. That being said we love the location and look forward to returning.

Good fall getaway.

We were a little disappointed in the parking situation for side B but we were able to make it work. Everything was clean except for the floors which need a thorough cleaning. Also I was slightly disappointed when I called to inform the Jekyll realty office that the dishwasher would not shut completely, which caused it to beep nonstop. The response I received was that the dishwasher was in fact not broken, it just has to be pushed in hard from the left side to close.I still was not able to get it to close, so my resolveWas unplugging it so I didn’t have to listen to the beeping for the remainder of the trip.

Another great vacation at Jekyll. We love the slow pace and enjoy the peaceful uncrowded beach.

Great house close to the beach

The perfect house close to the beach for a small family getaway. We loved the screened in porch where we could hear the ocean, and the beach was so close. It was nice to have covered parking as well.

But with a few more the place would be better. Needs new mattress in Master bedroom. Twin bedroom is great. The only uncleanliness was the floors just needed to be moped good. We really enjoy staying here.

Fall Break with the Grands

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great vacation. Always do on Jekyll. We checked in after hurricane Erna. The crossover was gone which was a big disappointment. But we understood. Trash was piled up so it was impossible for us to park our truck on the carport. Exacerbated by the fact that our duplex neighbors chained their bikes to the middle post with their handlebars on our side. After I almost took off their side mirror we just gave up parking there. As for the inside, I was completely grossed out by the roach droppings everywhere in the kitchen. On the counter, in the drawers and in every pot and dish I pulled out of the cabinet. I did complain about this and they sprayed the kitchen a couple of days later. I would really have appreciated a cleaning crew instead. The duplex is decorated with antiques. Drawers that stick and old books that are bug eaten. The location was convenient and I loved the screened in porch. Like I said, we had a good time with our granddaughters. It is after all Jekyll and you cannot have a bad time!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The duplex was not as clean as I expected. Dried broken bugs were in two or three places behind furniture. I had to sweep the place mat/entry doors in the carport. We had to wear socks to keep our feet from getting brown on the tile floor. It may need a good cleaning and re-sealing. It was hit & miss getting the dishwasher to clean the dishes on the first try each day. Clothes dryer did not dry the clothes first time thru (or we weren't doing it correctly). In the twin bed bedroom the HVAC made a disturbing noise each cycle. It appears that the solenoid / switch is in the closet and when it activated it would wake up the girls. Usually that switch is outside of the house. Very nice kitchen, awesome antiques, the layout was very practical. Location is its best quality. It did not have a grill.

LOVE this little cottage! This was our 2nd year in a row staying in it & it is absolutely perfect for our family of four. Not a huge fan of the exit door to the carport in the twin bedroom. Would love to see some locks at the top of the door or something to ensure the kids cannot get out, but at any rate, a perfect cottage for us! Also, the screened in porch was fantastic! Had my bible study and coffee out there every morning!

We have been going there for over 25 years and rented from Jekyll Realty most of those years. Their service has always been exemplary and the staff very friendly and helpful. This was our first time to rent Millican North and we were very pleased. Convenient location to beach and very clean and neat. We would recommend this cottage to anyone and will probably rent it again in the future.
