Awesome Group Cabin!

Bear Necessities was everything we thought it was and more. We’ve seen it for many years and jumped on booking an early rental this year. On the slopes, plenty of room for our group and we hope to be back again soon. Thanks for an amazing weekend!

Cabin on Alpen

The location was amazing! We loved the convenience of just walking out the Alpen and down to the lift. The home has plenty of space, bedrooms and bathrooms. We loved that the entry way floors were heated, helped dry our boots and clothes! Some minor improvements would be a cleaner hot tub.. I was a tad cautious about even going in. Overall a dated feel in the home. Had a wonderful time! Thank you bear necessities!!

Good spot for winter family getaway

Great location for grandkids to spend with the cousins and uncles and romp in the snow!

We had a great time! The house has plenty of room for our large family. Kitchen was well stocked with everything needed to make meals. Foosball was a lot of fun for all of us. The only negative is could have been cleaned better.

Fantastic for Families

Included a few small but very important amenities, like rokus in every room, a few fun boardgames and teddy bears. For children this place is perfect We loved it

Wonderful Ski weekend

I stayed at Bear Necessities with my significant other and my grown kids. There was 8 of us. We had a blast! The place was very spacious, lots of lounge space and plenty of dining space. The kitchen was full stocked. Loved it!

Ski weekend with friends

Overall this property met our needs for a ski weekend with 5 couples. It is very spacious as described and the hot tub and sauna were awesome after a day of skiing and snowshoeing. One disappointment was being told upon arrival the dishwasher was broken with a new one coming the next week. We ended up buying paper plates to avoid doing all the dishes by hand. The location was awesome being a ski in ski out. The house and furnishings looked a little tired for the rental cost.

Great Location

We've stayed in trailsides before but Bear Necessities is the closest to Lift 1. The little ones could ski or sled right outside the door. Everyone could watch the lift and see skiers from inside. Cabin stayed warm despite sub-zero temperatures. Appreciated access to all the bathrooms from each bedroom, the second living area, and large area in kitchen where everyone had a place to sit. If Lift 1 had not been open, you can get to Lift 2 or 3 although not as convenient. But a good Plan B. There was plenty of parking spaces. Some parked by the cabin and others were down by driveway and took the steps up. Loved that the two large areas for putting skis on were heated.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This location and overall condition of the cabin was wonderful! I was unable to receive any response from contacts for the rental via either email or VRBO direct messaging which was very concerning. The bookshelves were a mess and completely disheveled, which we reorganized for future guests. Great place, poor communication by property management/rental.

Problem with door code..key never worked

Dirty..dead bugs on window sills, floors. Black hair on bathroom floor. Dust on all shelves. Cookie sheet and casserole pans sticky and drain pan dirty. Grill was totally unusable and our intent was to grill burgers. Only TV that worked per directions was in living room Floor in downstairs bathroom? Caused family members to be BLACK...more than once! I feel sorry for the owners of the property as it appears management needs to do a better job. The cabin itself is big and nicely decorated but the dirtiness ruined it for all of us

Annual Family Ski Trip

We really enjoyed our stay at Bear Necessities! It was wonderful to have some new games to play and to be right on the ski hill. We love the hot tub also but it needs a deep clean and it was super full so water was splashing out all over the place. It was great to have lots of towels available but we did run out of TP & papertowels. Excellent amount of items in the kitchen for us to use. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this house! Thanks for a wonderful vacation spot!

We loved it. Would recommend!

Our group of 4 families had a wonderful time. The place is well stocked. We very much enjoyed the huge deck and the fire pit. There are some great hikes to waterfalls nearby. Huge kitchen to cook and hang out with and plenty of room elsewhere.

Grandma's 60th Birthday party

Great for large family gathering. The grandkids loved the outside space. The property lived up to expectations. Very well equipped. Had everything we needed, including paper towels and toilet paper, soap, dishwasher soap. On our last night, the kids were asking if we could come back next year.

Perfect, private (well stocked) cabin in the woods

Excellent property, private and in winter ski in and out. Perfect for long walks and easy hikes. Kitchen is well stocked for maximum number of guests. Check-in staff very friendly and helpful. We can’t wait to return soon.

Cousins Weekend

We traveled 8 hours from downstate to meet our family in the area. We were able to host our family Saturday and Sunday from the area, had plenty of room to feed and sit everyone. Had a great firepit to sit around. Had a wonderful neighbor just across the way that actually transported our 86 year old aunt across so she would not have to do any stairs into the cabin. It was wonderful to be able to interact with our cousins. There was enough room to play games with the kids outdoors. Everyone enjoyed themselves. The cousins in the area thought the place was beautiful and even inquired about renting it themselves for their immediate family. Thank you for a wonderful experience. We had a minor issue with one of bathrooms, called the office and within a half hour they had sent someone over to check out the problem.
