A Weekend Getaway in a Dream Home
My husband and I reserved the Sweet Dreams cabin for two nights this past weekend and had the time of our lives. The hot tub and indoor jacuzzi soothed the soul and the overall coziness of the pine wood cabin, mixed with the classy decorations (clearly done by professionals), created such an environment you couldn't justify leaving the cabin other than to go shopping for food to cook in the well-equipped kitchen. Eating out wasn't an option with all the amenities provided by the cabin owner(s). When the lights are turned on at night the quality of the wood really shines; it'll make you wish you owned your own cabin. We SO look forward to returning hopefully in the Summer when family from Germany might be able to join us in a larger cabin!
The picture do not do justice to this beautiful cabin!
What a great cabin. When looking at properties on vrbo I found another cabin managed by blue beaver but it was not available but this one was. I was more than pleasantly surprised! It was the perfect getaway space for my boyfriend and I. It would be a great cabin for anyone with a child or two. Very spacious and fairly private. There are a couple of cabins near by but not intrusively so. The hot tub, fire pit, indoor and outdoor fireplaces were all wonderful. I was even able to request champagne and rose petals strewn about for our arrival. We had a magical time. Of course we had to drag the bass boat up with us...we were minutes from the lake and great pizza. We spent one afternoon fishing for trout on the river after a morning of fishing on the lake. The area is simply beautiful this time of year with the changing leaves on the mountains. The cabin is so home like and comfortable that you hate to leave it.
Home in the woods
We planned thoroughly. We brought board games, blankets, spices and cooking utensils, toilet paper - a car full of things we'd need for a romantic weekend in a cabin in the woods. It was all for naught!
Within moments of arriving at this beautiful cabin we realized two things. First was that this cabin smelled amazing! Only months old the fresh wood smell was everywhere. It was like entering another world. The second thing we realized was that all of our preparation was for nothing. EVERYTHING we could possibly need was already there in the cabin. The amount of thought that went into preparing this cabin was overwhelming. Everything we could need was already there, ready to go. Instead of worrying about needing anything we could just start enjoying ourselves from the first moment.
The leather couches and theater seats were so comfortable. The tables and chairs were sturdy and quality. The TV above the gas fireplace was easy to watch from the recliners and the ceiling fan at the top of the cathedral ceiling gently flowed warmth down to you. The kitchen was complete in ways we didn't even know we'd need! The bathroom was beautiful and classic, the walk in shower being especially nice. The bedroom was inviting and warm with it's own TV and a comfortable and high bed (needed a step stool to get in!) with warm blankets and pillows of all sizes and shapes. The in bathroom washer and dryer was super useful.
Unfortunately for us we visited in January when it was freezing rain every day which prevented us from enjoying the amazing wrap around deck and the hot tub, fully equipped BBQ, outdoor gas fireplace and firepit with chairs in the backyard but I can imagine those being a lot of fun during more warm months.
The area around the cabin (which at the time even Google Maps didn't know existed!) is beautiful with the other cabins only barely visible through the many trees around the property. Down the road a short drive are several restaurants and stores, the highlight of which was Girls Gone Wine - a walk in winery and gift shop with plenty to enjoy.
I really find it hard to put into words how comfortable and enjoyable the stay at his cabin was. It felt like home from the moment we arrived and we still miss it months later. When you leave be sure to leave a note in the small diary about your stay! Reading about the adventures of previous guests was a wonderful treat.
