When away from home, it is essential to feel as relaxed as possible and we believe you will be at Palacio de Baja.
The rooms are spacious and the furnishings are comfortable, generous and tasteful. The master bedroom sleeps up to five, with one king size bed, and three twin size beds. The second bedroom sleeps up to four with a queen size bed, and two twin size beds. There is also a sofa bed in the main living room that makes into a bed and will sleep two, and a comfortable futon in the common area that will sleep 2 also.
The Dining Room has a beautifully handcrafted table and eight chairs, and another table that seats six, sits near the picture window over looking the pristine beach.
There are two bathrooms with tiled showers, and beautifully decorated to reflect the culture.
On the patio, relax with a good book on a comfortable lounge chair and bask in the sunlight or sit under the umbrella.
The kitchen is fully stocked and overlooks the beach (there is no better way to cook!)
There is an outdoor fire ring where you can enjoy the clear view of the stars and the city lights of Ensenada in the distance.
La Bufadora is a 5 mile drive down the road where you can enjoy beautiful views, shopping and fabulous food. Ensenada is a 20 minute drive north where you can enjoy more fabulous food, shopping, and a visit to the fish market.
This is a property owned by our whole big family: Mom and Dad, their three children and their spouses. We are from Orange County and our kids have enjoyed growing up going to PdB.
Cathy Norton purchased this house in 2004
Before we had ever been to Palacio de Baja, Mom was the informal 'rental agent' for the original builder of the property. As payment for handling the rentals she was given time at the house. Gradually we all traveled to Baja and fell in love with the quiet, slow pace of life in Mexico and on the beach.
When the owner was no longer able to care for the property we decided that we would like the opportunity to buy it. After praying together for a time and talking to the owner, we were able to purchase the property in 2004.
We feel very blessed to have PdB for our family to enjoy together. We hope you enjoy it too.
We love going down to PdB. We noticed that we like to spend the first few days sleeping in, taking a nap, laying out, or just lying on the beach. It's a great place to detox from everyday life.
There's nothing like waking up, making a pot of coffee, and sitting outside or walking along the beach while drinking said coffee.
The beach is almost private. Rarely is it noisy or congested.
Clean, comfortable, well appointed for cooking, hanging out on the back porch, lots of areas inside to relax.
My family and I stayed at this property for the weekend. It was a really nice area we also took a walk at night on the streets and it was a little dark but the people there are really friendly.
Kids enjoyed the beach the waves were really quiet so it was not scary for the little kids. Our Family also enjoyed digging Holes to get the hot water out which is about 1 mile away from the house.
It was wonderful, couldn't have asked for a better mini vacation. House was great and the waters were beautiful. House is completely stocked with everything you could possibly need. The house is directly on the beach with a built in fire pit right on the sand. Chaise lounge chairs are provided for great tanning. I will definitely be back.
Just got back from Cathy's house in Ensenada with some friends of mine. Cathy was very helpful leading up to the trip and during it as well. The house was gorgeous and well kept and right on a sandy beach ! Only thing is it was a little bit farther from the happenings of Ensenada and a little bit further of a drive than expected. However, we had a great time. The location was beautiful and it fit myself and my friends very comfortably.
I recently stayed at Palacio de Baja and had a very pleasant experience. I took my family, including 3 young children, and we all felt at home and there was enough room for everyone. The house was very clean and well maintained, and the property owner and manager were very responsive to all my inquiries. It was truly home away from home. I highly recommend PDB.
We were very pleased to find that the property we rented for our vacation in Ensenada, had everything we were looking for and more. We were 11km away from la bufadora, The drive for the nearest market was about 10 minutes away. Privacy and security were one of our main concerns and we didnt have any problems. The rental offered towels, blankets, the kitchen was clean, two dinning tables, family room and immediate access to the beach. We are looking forward to go to Mexico again and we will definitely consider making this our rental.
La Bufadora is 5 miles south. Buy some churros and some fish tacos. They are delicious! There is also a lot of shopping and good deals to be found.
We like to stop at the fish market in Ensenada on the way down and pick up fresh fish to cook on the barbecue. Charcoal barbecue is provided.
