La cabaña está situada en 650 acres de bosque privado, adyacente a la ruta de senderismo North Country y al río Clarion, pero está a solo minutos de Clarion, PA. La cabina está disponible todo el año.

El pozo de fuego amplía la experiencia de vida al aire libre y hace que sea difícil terminar el día. Si te gusta lo natural te gustará la cabaña de la catedral Paredes de arce nudosas, techos con vigas de vigas, suelos de sasafrás y alerce se acentúan con algunas paredes de colores brillantes para crear un ambiente de cabina alegre. The cabin was very nice and clean, quiet, yet close enough to town if you need something. Kitchen is very well equipped and charcoal grill outside is good for your outdoor grilling. Cabin was very tastefully decorated with antique's, an antique theme. Wi-Fi would not connect to the smart TV but there is a great collection of DVD's. There is 1 shower not 2 as description states, shower was hot and plenty of pressure. Cabin is not near the river, nor can you see it from the cabin, to get to the river, walking, you have to go down a wooded hillside to a road, walk the road until you come to the top of the stairs , then down to the dock. On Saturday after a rafting trip out of Cook Forest, we drove down the road to get to the dock, walked down the stairs to fish and sun bathe, the floating dock walkway was broken and slanted to the left in the water, we did not take a chance walking on it, disappointed. There is no boat launch there, you have to go to the public launch upstream to Clarion and put in, glad I didn't bring my waverunners. There is no Spa/whirlpool. End of the day we all enjoyed our time at the cabin, owners need to revise their listing. (Side note) Double beds should be replaced with Queens. I would stay there again for a lower price knowing what I do unless things changed. Great place if you have little interest in the river.

It sounds like Mike and his family were less than thrilled with their stay, which we deeply regret. Some of which they speak could have been avoided had they read the description with a bit more focus. The description clearly states the cabin is not on the river and that the beds are double beds. Knowing this in advance may well have influenced their decision to book this lodging or tempered their expectations. Within an hour of reading their message about the dock walkway attachment being off on 1 side we responded to their concern. It took us another hour to fix the attachment and notify them of the remedy. We know this was disappointing, we apologized when messaging them of the issue being resolved. Our apology at the time and the prompt repair understandably did not alleviate their disappointment. During their inquiries about our lodging Mike asked if they could dock their boat on the guest dock. I said they could, I also said there is a ramp on our property which they could use to put their boat in the river. As they stated, they did not bring a watercraft nor did they ask where the ramp was located. Prior to Mike's arrival he asked if it would be possible to check in early. I told him to contact us closer to the day of their arrival and we would let them know if it was possible. Later we told him he could arrive 3 hours early, there was no extra charge. We believe our lodging is priced fairly. It offers the convenience of private river access at half the cost.

This cabin provided exactly what you'd want in an outdoors get away. Extremely clean for a cabin in the woods, great natural setting with the North Country Trail passing right outside the cabin and it was a short 22 minute drive to Cook Forest. The kayaks on the river were a nice touch for a relaxing paddle. Only shortcoming was the wifi was not working but there's plenty to do and being disconnected was actually pretty nice.

Great secluded cabin

We had a great time at this cabin. The woodwork and design was beautiful. Brian & his staff were super friendly & accommodating. This site has a great dock by river we loved swimming at and loved being able to get kayaks from Brian. We will definitely go again!

Fall getaway

We had a great trip. The cabin was found with good directions. The check in process was as easy as could be. The cabin was clean. It’s a good location for hiking in the near by state parks or right out the front door on the north country trail.

The cabin is in a nice part of the area.. close to everything yet far enough away. There are some upkeep items the owner could do.. correct the wifi situation.. update/clean outdoor furniture / fire pit situation. The cabin amenities need a refresh.

Cute comfy cabin. Recommend if you plan on cooking to bring your own mixing/salad bowl and favorite omelette skillet. I knew to bring my own casserole dishes for warming up dinner.

Nice peaceful little cabin

Me, my wife, her sister and brother-in-law spent Fri and Sat nights here. The cabin was nice and well kept. It rained all day Sat, we stayed inside most of the day. We ventured out to check out the dock and platform right on the Clarion River. There was plenty to do inside the cabin, we watched a movie and worked a puzzle. Brian checked in on us and gave us directions to a couple of restaurants and breweries. We had a great time and would come again.

Peace and quiet

We enjoyed our stay at Bryan and Jeans Cathedral cabin. We did a little hiking and driving while there. We sat out at the fire pit every night. The weather was perfect until the day we left and it started raining.The leaves were falling so hard it sounded like rain.We didn't see a lot of wild life but we did see a piebald deer which was neat. Hope to return again someday. Thanks for sharing your rustic cabin.

Beautiful and quiet location

We were looking for a quiet location, close enough to civilization, yet far enough away from the noise. This is it. An enjoyable Friday through Monday stay. Clean and well kept, as well as well appointed. The hosts are fantastic, and the hiking was grand. The library of books is wonderful, and the selection of videos is eclectic. Highly recommended for a brief respite from the daily grind. We'll be back, as well as recommending this location to our friends, which is the greatest compliment. Thank you so much for the opportunity to unwind!

Great base for hiking

Spent a great long weekend hitting the trails with the cabin as a base camp. Cathedral Cabin is beautiful and comfortable, a fantastic base camp for the NCT, Cook Forest, Clear Creek, and more. Highly recommend the scenic loop of the NCT that you can hike right to from the cabin! Suggest bringing your own cookware if you're planning much cooking beyond pasta or a frozen meal, pans on hand are a bit warped and beat-up. Also there's no exhaust fan for the stove, so setting the smoke detector off is very easy. Still nice to have a full kitchen set up.

Cabin Life

We had a great time at the cabin. Fire pit was super nice. We did not need any air conditioning, but if you did, I don't know how they get it to you since it says air conditioning is provided but not in the cabin. The North Country Trail is right outside your door and you can hike as long as you like. Trails are well marked. Bike trails are approx 1/2 hour away. Highly recommend starting in Emlenton and going through the tunnels with a light!! While there is a dock available, you have to drive to get to it and the stairs need a good power washing as they are super slippery. Just be very careful. The cabin is NOT on the river but we thought it was from the description. The canoe is right there for your use at the dock, however we chose biking and hiking. The town of Clarion is awesome. Michelle's Cafe is great as is Daddy's burgers. When you arrive, the address is not well marked. We found it by turning around and noticing a cabin that looked like the ad. Enter from Route 322 and you will see it. The cabin is very clean and decorated beautifully! Cudos to whomever is the decorator.

Thanks to the Budnick's for their review. We are glad they liked the cabin and surroundings, we do make a concerted effort to keep things clean and attractive. Others have said they thought the cabin was on the river. Our site description does, however, specify the river is a short walk or drive to the river. To walk to the river it takes 15 minutes. To drive it is about 3 minutes. We do recommend driving if bringing a picnic or carrying a lot. We will take a look at the description to see if we can present as accurate description of the river access. We take feedback very seriously and value the kind of feedback guests like the Budnicks provide.

Charming Cabin in the Woods

My husband and I stayed here with two of our friends. The cabin is the perfect size for a group of 4. It is settled in the middle of the woods right off of the North Country trail. It is a 20 min drive to Cook Forest and 2.5 miles from Downtown Clarion. We were very impressed by the cleanliness of the inside of the cabin. There is a main bedroom and a smaller bedroom upstairs. You have to go through the main bedroom to get to the full bathroom and the rooms are right next to each other. We knew about the close sleeping quarters prior to this and it wasn’t an issue for us. The sheets were clean and fresh. There is also a half bathroom downstairs. There is a complete stocked kitchen with a stove/oven and a full size fridge. The outside of the cabin, though needing a little bit of care was also very nice. We enjoyed hanging out on porch. There is a charcoal grill included. We really enjoyed the fire pit. The owner got us hooked up with firewood. He was extremely responsive to all of our needs and easy to deal with. This property does advertise a dock, which is a hike through the woods or a short drive around the corner. We did go to that area and really enjoyed the viewing platform. However, there did not seem to be what we would consider a dock at the bottom. There are very steep stairs down to the river that would be difficult to carry a kayak down. That definitely was not a deal breaker though. Overall, we had a really great stay and would definitely come back again.

Spent a long weekend and enjoyed every moment! The listing is exactly what you will find, plus more! Super quiet location but sooooo close to anything you need…if you want to venture from the cabin. Tons of local activities, great small brewery, and good food just minutes away. The cabin is beautiful, chock full of things to keep you occupied on a rainy afternoon. Beds were comfy, bedding perfect for snuggling in for a good night’s sleep. Plenty of towels and paper products were available, along with assorted kitchen needs. Brian was super helpful with local info, trail paths…really everything we needed! He made sure firewood was waiting when we arrived, and offered more if needed. Great Time

Cabin was very nice and well kept. Great area to be in if you love peace and quiet. Would have liked to see more deer, bears and Mountain Lions (kidding about the lion part).

Chill Location for Active People

The property was very nice. The bedrooms are connected so don't expect privacy. But it was perfect for my sister and me. The private dock in the Clarion River was fantastic for swimming and kayaking and the North Country Trail was steps from the back door. Nice big front porch for hanging out. Bryan and Jean were great--communicative and kind. Be sure to read the description carefully for details on locating the cabin.

The perfect place to just get away.

This was a down time trip for me to just be away and in nature. Cathedral will do just that. I spent most of the time enjoying the porch and all the views and then stepped out a few hundred feet to catch a trail. All you need is supplied . I am eager to book again!

We enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

Enjoyable stay. The cabin was very clean, and well furnished. Bryan had it well supplied with everything from cookware, food staples, bedding, etc. In particular, we enjoyed relaxing on the deck, and using the fire pit and outdoor grill. Everything that we intended to do was in close proximity. Cook Forest and The Allegheny National Forest were nearby. We hope to one day return.

Bryan and Jean are retired educators. Bryan taught at
Clarion University for nearly 30 years and Jean was a Reading Specialist for about the same time. Both now enjoy sharing their property with other nature lovers and meeting interesting folks.

Bryan came to this area from the outskirts of Philadelphia and Jean is a life long resident. Bryan came to teach at Clarion University and this is now his home. Bryan is an avid builder that sees their properties and their surroundings as personal and a\natural art.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

650 acres of lush forest located on the Clarion River/Lake. Hike the North Country Trail, Hike or bike the Route 66 Trail, swim in the River. Do any and all of the above without leaving the property or biking a few minutes away to the Route 66 Trail.
If so inclined, bring your ATV and ride the surrounding township Open Roads. Venture a few miles away and ride the 24 mile Piney Rail Rider corridor between Brookville and Clarion. Only licensed, registered ATV's driven by courteous, respectful riders are encouraged to use our place as a place to begin a great ride.
