About Cathy and Ramon Gonzalez
Your hosts, Ramon (a former New Yorker) and Cathy (a born and raised Californian), have lived and worked in Seward for over 20 years. We have traveled throughout the state, enjoying all of the vastness and glory Alaska has to offer. We are actively involved in the health and well being of Seward area residents and tourists. When not treating patients at his Acupuncture/Massage Clinic, Ramon is usually out fishing for the 'big one'. He is quick to fill your ear with his fishing stories and to give suggestions and advice on our 'local' fishing areas! When not busy running the Lodge, Cathy, an active hiker and gardener, spends her spare time enjoying all Alaska has to offer or merely working in her gardens. She has hiked every trail within 30 miles, kayaked Resurrection Bay, climbed the Harding Ice Fields, ran the Mount Marathon Race (7x) and owned and operated Seward's first Fitness & Dance Center. It is our passion to make sure our guests enjoy and make the most of their time in Seward, and are always available to help their guest plan out their activities. It gives us great pleasure to share our beautiful home and unique town with guests.
Cathy and Ramon Gonzalez purchased this Lodge in 2002
Why Cathy and Ramon Gonzalez chose Old Mill
The acre of property that Log Dreamin' Lodge sits on was hand picked by Ramon and Cathy. After living in Old Mill Subdivision for several years we felt it was one of the most beautiful lots around. We purchased the raw land, and with the help of our family hand cleared the property. With the help of family and friends we assembled the custom log kit, hired local contractors and artist to help finish the interior of the house. The stone wall was created by Ramon's brother (see if you are able to locate the many stories it tells). The custom kitchen and bathroom tiles were done by a local artist. Ramon built the decks and woodshed while Cathy created many gardens and garden art, yet leaving as much natural forest as possible. New to the grounds this season is a beautiful mosaic fire pit and patio hand built by Cathy and Ramon using recycled and sustainable materials. It began as our family home, which later became a very successful Bed and Breakfast and is now a full lodge set up for large groups, or family and friends traveling together. The love and uniqueness of our lovey home is not meant to be used by a few people, but to be shared by many. The more we share our home with others, the more love that is poured into it. It is because of our wonderful guest that we have learned to love and appreciate our lovely home so much more!
What makes this Lodge unique
When you arrive at Log Dreamin' Lodge, you will be greeted by beautiful gardens and mountain views. Upon entering the home, the warm, cozy, loving energy will welcome you with open arms. You may choose to sit in the bright warm living room, hoping to catch a glimpse of our wildlife visitors, or choose to mosie upstairs to settle in the sunny bay window, to admire the view or read a good book. Possibly your eyes will wander to the beautiful custom kitchen, where the antique cook stove sits ready to share with you the many stories of her 100 years of family cooking! If the sun is shinning in all it's glory, and you are sun a lover as Cathy is.....you may find yourself not entering the house at all, but sitting in a chair on the deck allowing Alaska to take you to another place and time. You may find yourself headed to the creek in hopes of seeing some salmon or just inhaling the intoxicating fragrances floating about, or simply stop, listen and watch the many birds feeding and flying about. Me...I would most likely walk about admiring the gardens and garden art, hoping to catch a glimpse of the hummingbirds or listen for the baby swallows in their nests. Ramon....well he would be heading straight for the shed to gather his fishing rods and nets, dreaming of catching the 'big one'. It is all this and more why we love our Alaska Home. Every nook and cranny has been touched by our hands, spending years and years creating more and more beauty for our family, friends and guests to enjoy.

A beautiful, clean, and fully equipped house with a beautiful garden; easily located. Kathy was very accommodating and responded to our inquiries promptly. Upon arrival, we were happily surprised to find a welcome sign at the front entrance. Definitely recommended.

Homey property just outside Seward
We stayed here for 2 nights with 5 adults and baby and felt very comfortable and at home. The location is about 10 minute drive from Seward. Cathy was very responsive and helpful. There is a pack and play and also toys for little ones. Due to constant rain while we were here couldn't enjoy any of the outdoor amenities they have but would recommend staying here should we visit again.
Thank you Barbara,
It is our priority to make sure our guests are comfortable and have everything they need.
So sorry you were not able to enjoy the outdoors, it truly is a beautiful and relaxing part of our property.
We are currently looking at adding an awning over one of the decks so our guests are able to sit outside regardless of the weather!
Thank you for your stay!

Perfect Home for Our Extended Family
This comfortable home was perfect for me, my husband, our married adult children and our 15 month-old granddaughter (seven people total). Upon arrival our granddaughter was thrilled to find a large basket of toys and we were happy to find a highchair at the large dinning table. The well equipped and beautifully decorated kitchen along with the large outdoor grill and patio made cooking and eating dinner at home easy. They even keep many condiments and spices for guests to use. Both nights after dinner we also enjoyed making S'mores around the fire pit. This was one of the nicest homes we stayed in in Alaska and made our stay in Seward very enjoyable. This special home is a true gem!
Thank you Wood Family! It was a pleasure hosting your lovely family.
Our home is a special place and we want our guests to be as comfortable as we would like to be. We truly enjoy sharing it with others!
Enjoy the remainder of your summer.

Spacious, comfortable and well equiped rental
Our family of five adults spent 4 nights in June at the Log Dreamin' Lodge. Great location for visiting Seward. Easy to get to and less than 10 minutes from town--just a few blocks off of Seward Highway. The Lodge was very comfortable for my wife and I and our three adult children. The kitchen has everything you need and there are two clean gas grills on the attached deck for your use. Would definitely stay there again.
Thank you Cathy and Ramone for sharing your beautiful Alaskan log home with us!
Thank you David! So glad you enjoyed our lovely home...thank you for taking such good care of it!
Your so very welcome!

Sweet Spot In Seward, Alaska
For a family gathering, eight of us (the grandparents, three children, two grandkids) rented this property for two nights. This was the last stop after starting at Denali. Other times the grand parents have stayed in Seward, we were not very impressed with the lodgings. However, this time was totally different and deserves a 5-star rating.
The inside was very spacious and comfortable, even with eight people. The bedrooms were very nice nice and the master bedroom easily held the family of four which included the two grandkids. The upstairs sitting area is a loft which was very nice for getting together and talking. The living room downstairs was heavily used by the grandkids for watching their cable shows. The kitchen was well stocked with the necessary cooking utensils as well as coffee and multiple types of tea as well as paper products. Being at the end of our journey, we really appreciated (and used) the washer and dryer to get ready for heading home. Due to weather, we were only able to use the beautiful deck on the afternoon of the day we checked in, but all of the adults enjoyed the space to sit outdoors and talk.
Our consensus as we checked out was that Cathy and Ramon had done a very nice job of preparing the home and of pricing it well.
What a fun place to come to in Alaska. We loved everything about it! We just wished we had more time there!
We are located in the beautiful 'Old Mill Subdivision' 7 miles from the City of Seward and 120 miles South of Anchorage, just off the main highway. Seward, is one of Alaska's TOP destinations! Situated around the beautiful Resurrection Bay, the northern most ice free port. This is where majestic mountains meet the frigid sea, home to the Kenai Fjords National Park, one of Alaska's greatest sights to witness! You'll find glaciers scatted in the mountains towering above this quaint town, bountiful wildlife and adventure for all!
Must-to-do activities include a visit to Exit Glacier National Park, a Wildlife/Glacier through Kenai Fjords National Park, a stop at the Alaska Sealife Center and ocean kayaking!
