About Kevin Lewis

Our ancestors helped settle Pine Valley and we're proud of their great heritage here. We've spent a lot of time roaming these hills, and caring for the properties here. After starting my own family I decided to take a more serious stake in the area. In 2011, we purchased the Brandin' Iron Steakhouse (it was closed at the time) and began renovations. With the success of the restaurant we looked across the street and found a great opportunity to restore the old Pine Valley Lodge. With a little TLC we've transformed it into an ideal location for reunions and retreats. The Lodge opened in May of 2015.

Kevin Lewis purchased this lodge in 2014

Why Kevin Lewis chose Utah

Pine Valley is a place like no other. Just a few miles from the red sandstone, but thousands of feet above the desert - way up in the mountains, sits a pristine green valley surrounded by huge ponderosa pines. Pine Valley provides a refreshing and rejuvenating escape from the rugged desert landscape and the Pine Valley Lodge is a perfect place to come together.

Less than 150 people call Pine Valley home so this is a place where you can truly get away from it all. As a boy, I had friends who owned the property. The Lodge and cabins were our base camp for discovery. Now I'm rekindling those boyhood adventures for my own family, and creating refreshing opportunities for other families like yours!

What makes this lodge unique

A rustic pine lodge, a wooden plank deck, the smell of ponderosa pine, the sight of mule deer grazing on the grass at sunset, brilliant starlit skies at night and the sound of silence. What more could you ask for in a refreshing get-a-way? Once you experience the solitude here, you may never want to leave.

Great setting for our reunion!

  • 5 of 5

The property was perfect for our reunion of nearly 50 people. There were plenty of beds for everyone with clean sheets, pillowcases, towels, blankets, etc. there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out or be together, food service of preparation areas were plentiful, and the outdoor space was wonderful.

Didn't hurt that the weather cooperated beautifully! And it is naturally 10° cooler at the lodge than either Cedar city or St. George.

We enjoyed being on the property, and the nearby hiking, Veyo pool, Tuacahn family show, etc. And the water, straight from the hose, is the best tasting water I've had in years - nothing like it in the city!

Considered writing a terrible review, just to keep the rest of you away! But we cannot lie - it was great. Larry was wonderful to work with!

GREAT PLACE FOR A LARGE FAMILY REUNION!!!!

  • 5 of 5

LOCATED IN A BEAUTIFUL PART OF SOUTHERN UTAH. OWNERS ARE EASY TO WORK WITH. FACILITY IS THE BEST FURNISHED PLACE WE HAVE BEEN TO IN MANY YEARS. THEY THINK OF THE SMALL ITEMS LIKE TRASH BAGS, SOAPS AND OTHER USEFUL ITEMS TO HAVE A GREAT TIME. LODGES AND CABINS ARE WELL MAINTAINED AND THE OWNERS ARE VERY RESPONSIVE IF YOU NEED ANYTHING. THIS LODGE COMES HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Best Reunion Property Ever

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our experience in Pine Valley. The weather in St. George was over 100 degrees the week in July that we were there, while we were cool and comfortable at 85 degrees in the mountains. The addition of air conditioning in each of the little cabins was amazing. We divided the cousins by age and gave them each their own little cabin i.e. the boy teens, the girl teens, the elementary school girls etc. This was a huge hit! Everyone had so much fun. I would highly recommend going down the hill to Crawdad Canyon and swimming and hunting for Crawdads. Make sure you bring some hotdogs! (Who knew crawdads liked hotdogs?) We also bought some $3 nets to catch the crawdads at the pool house. After a several hours in the creek, the kids didn't want to leave. Everything was very clean and accommodated our large group perfectly. I especially loved the huge freezer and giant industrial size fridge and the meal prep room where we could store all the food was amazing. We didn't do much hiking but we found several fantastic mountain biking trails near the lodge. We also did some four-wheeling to Toquerville Falls--another fun day trip. But honestly, you wouldn't have to leave. We played volleyball, croquet, basketball, tetherball, pool, ping pong, and horseshoes: all provided at the Lodge. We also played Capture the Flag in the spacious area around the lodge. I would highly recommend this property and can't wait to come back. It was very affordable and ended up being one of the cheapest family reunions that we have held, and one of the most fun.

Better than we'd hoped!

  • 5 of 5

Pine Valley Lodge was practically perfect in every way for our Family Reunion! Nice cool weather, Gorgeous back drop, very helpful owners who were there to answer any questions, clean and comfortable. Plenty of space to spread out and large enough to gather together when we needed to be close. For our large family of 40 it is hard to find a large enough space for all of us but this was perfect and had room to spare! We had such a wonderful time we'd like to make it a tradition!
