We used Chris's cabin as a homebase after taking on some of the great hiking trails in the local area. It's the perfect size for a couple or family of four. The place was spotless when we arrived and all the extra details with the decor made it all that more cozy. The hot tub was a welcomed sight for sore legs and mountsin views! In fact, I can't find anything negative to say about the property. Also, if you want to eat some really great food, check out Harry's .5 miles up the road on the left going towards Ludlow.
The Hideaway Summer Review
Great little, cozy and secluded spot in the Okemo/Mount Holly area. Loved everything about it. From the HUGE amount of space we had in the yard for lawn games and whatnot, to the hot tub, to all the modern amenities throughout the property...really fantastic, budget-friendly option for a summer getaway with a small group (no more than 4-6 people -- we had four in our group). Loved the pond on the property and thought it was cool having the freight train roll by once a day (never too early and the tracks are behind the property and aren't really accessible). Only thing I'd say is that make sure you and your group are fine with having minimal privacy where the actual sleeping area is -- it's a loft setup and aside from a curtain it's a pretty open layout up top. But it was great for us and as the other reviews indicate many others have enjoyed it too. Quick 15-minute drive to Rutland, probably even closer to Okemo. Would absolutely stay here again.
We Loved the Hideaway!
We absolutely loved our stay at the Hideaway. There is not a detail left out of this perfect little gem! Everything you need is there. The location is perfect, you feel tucked away from everything. The sleeping is in the loft area & its not private rooms. The Hideaway had a big kitchen with everything needed. We would definitely stay here again if we ever come back to the area!
The Hideaway is a clean and cozy "tiny house" style cabin with ample social space.
Coming off of a relaxing midsummer VT weekend with some good friends from Boston and NYC, I have only good things to say about The Hideaway. The house was clean and we'll stocked with towels and linens, and there were clear instructions for the hot tub and other fixtures. The grounds were scenic, well groomed and private, as advertised. We got through the weekend without any questions or need for assistance, but Christopher made himself available via phone and e-mail and was very responsive throughout the booking process. My one recommendation for summer renters would be to bring along bug spray, but a few mosquitos didn't keep us from thoroughly enjoying ourselves. I would definitely book the Hideaway again!
Chris was a wonderful host.
Cute and cozy!!
Stayed for the weekend to ski okemo and had an amazing time! The property was very clean. The cabin fit 6 guests comfortably. The hot tub was an amazing luxury after a long day of skiing! Would definitely stay at again!
