About this property

All Military; First Responders & Former Renters-inquire about special

You will find yourself in a little slice of heaven in the area that surrounds this quaint farm house!! Barren River Lake and State Park is just 10 miles away. Closer still is the charming town of Fountain Run, with it's hometown restaurants (home cooking and barbeque) and small town shops. Glasgow isn't far away with even more shopping and dining experiences! If you are coming to fish, Brownsford Boat Ramp is only 1 mile away. A short 45 minute drive will take you to Cave City where you can see Mammoth Cave, located on a beautiful state park. Cave City is also home to Funtown Mountain, great family fun just moments from state highway I-65! Kentucky Down Under isn't far from here either, another family attraction that will keep your family learning while on vacation!! Bowling Green, Ky is not too far as well, home of the world famous Corvette Museum. This is the only place in the world where Corvettes are built!! And Bowling Green has tons more shopping and the closest Starbucks! The nearest town is Scottsville, Ky, where you can find many restaurants, shopping and beautiful Mennonite/Amish communities for fresh vegetables, home made breads, plants, herbs and much more!!
The first floor of the farm house consists of the living room, one bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, 2 eating areas and laundry room. The second floor is a loft, on the south side is a full size bed and on the north side are two twin beds. All bed linens, bath towels and kitchen items are provided. Central heat and air, screens on the windows if you want the 'whole' experience!! Ceiling fans in every room on the first floor, excepting, of course, the bathroom! The house is set up with wireless internet, so you aren't that far away from the rest of the world!
There is enough parking for three vehicles. We do ask that you NOT smoke on the farm.
Rental fee includes taxes and cleaning fees.

Base Camp
Great property. Great Host. She took time out to show us around the property, and my girls the horses. This cozy little home was perfect for us. We used this as our base camp for multiple day trips, and it was great. Quiet area.

Charming country farmhouse
The farmhouse was really cute and was in a really peaceful setting. I really liked the hand painted doors. I was also happy that I was able to bring my dogs.

Quaint stay in the country
The house was as advertised. The owner was extremely responsive, helpful, accommodating and easy to work with. The only recommendation I can make to the owners is to maybe consider extra televisions? There is only one in the house, in the living room. The only way our stay would have been better is if there were televisions in the bedrooms. Would definitely recommend this rental to others!

Peaceful farm
We were only there overnight, but the house had all we needed. The farm was so pretty and we enjoyed seeing the animals and petting Fred the cat. Our family of four and dogs had a restful stay. The area was quiet yet there is access nearby for any groceries or dining. Thanks again!

A Peaceful Retreat
If you are looking for a cozy place to spend some quiet time away from everyday life, this is it. The house is situated on top of a hill with a nice view of the pasture below (there were several deer there in the pasture in the mornings), and there are goats and horses in the surrounding picturesque fields. There's also a sweet little cat named Fred who will visit with you on the porch if you like. At night, you can see every star in the sky, and in the morning, you are only a little more than a mile from the boat ramp on the lake, so any time is a convenient time to fish. If you are a bird watcher, you might be interested to know that during our stay, we came within two feet of a golden eagle perched on the guardrail down the street from the house. We also saw a peregrine falcon, a barn owl, and several species of hawks. If you are a writer or an artist, you will appreciate the peace and quiet for creative endeavors, and the hand painted doors are a unique and attractive quality that may inspire you. It is also helpful that the owner is friendly and on site, which is convenient if you need anything or if you would like some advice about things to do in the area. I would definitely stay here again.

Great location for an off the beaten path getaway.
Andrea is great and easy to work with. This is a great location for a fishing or hunting group. We came in for a long weekend just to get out of the house and relax. We did have a small problem and with poor weather dampening our plans we left a day early. The issue was addressed with Andrea and she stayed in communication with me as she resolved the problem even after I left. She also provided a refund for the day we didn’t stay. The issue was discussed between Andrea and I and feel she has taken care of it so it was not detailed in my review.

We had a wonderful stay here! Andrea was so welcoming and made sure we had what we needed. She was readily available. The location is perfect. A short drive to the caves and Nashville. The property is peaceful and quiet, well maintained and very comfortable. We look forward to staying again!

Kids, dogs, goats, and horses.
We liked the location of the home, it was easy to call it home because the kids were so happy being there. Andrea was very welcoming and seemed to truly enjoy having the kids help with feeding the horses and goats. She enjoyed showing everyone around her property. Keep in mind it is an old house and so it is not pristine but it is comfortable and relaxing to be there. We had four adults and two children and we were very comfortable with sleeping arrangements. The area was quiet with very little traffic. There is a cute little place in Fountain Run called Nanny Jo’s that is open from breakfast to dinner with good food. We hated to leave and hope to return to visit Andrea and her animals.

HOMEY AS CAN BE
Staying at Andreas Farm was wonderful and layback. The farmhouse is so cozy and has everything one could need. The animals are a real added treat--soooo lovely!! I received some actual Rest and Relaxation, something I rarely get out of vacations. My son also enjoyed the R&R, and the Internet!! Together we found fun in some of the local activities and even tried golf for the first time ever. We've been here just over a month so far and can't believe it is time to move on.

Historical
We loved the house! We stayed in the summer of 2016. It was fun for us city folk to vacation in a real farm house. I have good memories of fireflies and a night time sky filled with stars. Thanks for not cancelling when you got a long time renter!

Lovely relaxing farmhouse in the country.
This charming farmhouse is well kept and very clean. A beautiful setting in the country with only a short drive to town or to the lake. Do not hesitate to stay here. Andrea is a wonderful host and makes this place a home away from home.

Charming little farmhouse.
We moved to KY from MI and stayed here a month. Owner was wonderful. Very kind and helpful. Even kept my dog while I went out of town a few days She let my kids help her do her farm chores and was very gracious hostess.

Thanks, Andrea! We found your little farmhouse very comfortable. It met all our needs for a great experience watching and photographing the solar eclipse. Seeing your horses & goats was certainly a bonus. Best of luck! Matt, Bobbie and Max

Peaceful stay in the country with horses greeting you with your morning coffee.
The farmhouse was a great central location for us to pack a lot of activites in 4 days. We took an underground river tour, visited Mammoth Caves, swam at a nearby State Park, went to the Nashville Zoo, and went white water rafting. These activites were all 30 minutes to under 2 hours away. Andrea was a kind host who gave us good advice on places to visit and GREAT directions on how to get there. My teenage kids enjoyed it when the neighboring horses came to say hi at night. I cannot comment on the quality of the wifi because we were too busy doing a puzzle as a family or sitting on the porch as a family at the end of the day and visiting with the horses. We took long walks at night and enjoyed the mosquito-free evenings which we don't get in Northern Michigan. If you enjoy a peaceful farmhouse with nice animals to watch while you drink your coffee in the morning this is the place for you.

Down on the farm
Well -equipped little farmhouse in beautiful KY horse country! I had a great summer here - 2 miles from Barren River Lake (kayak, boating, fishing) and 25 min to Amish/Mennonite markets. The owner was very friendly and helpful, giving us tips on the area and local goings-on. The dogs loved having horses and goats to gawk at.

A cozy and comfortable place to stay......nothing fancy but clean, cozy, and quiet.
Stayed at the house and property in a 8 guy group for a fishing trip to Barren River lake. Plenty of room for 4 full size trucks and bass boats. Convenient to boat ramp. Clean house in a quiet area. Well stocked with supplies. Great shower and toilet which was a concern having 8 grown men in 1 house. We are planning a annual weekend to the lake and will be staying at the house. Thanks for putting up with us!!!

Kentucky Farmhouse
My family of four plus dog enjoyed our stay at this country farmhouse near Barren River Lake State Resort Park. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen equipped with all the basics, and the shower warm with good water pressure. We enjoyed relaxing on the porch to see the horses, birds, and stars. A/C was cool on first floor but did not reach the second floor room. The kids ended up sleeping on the living room futon a couple nights. While there we traveled to Mammoth Cave which was just under an hour away for a cave tour (book in advance) and hiking. Also, don't miss nearby Kenny's Cheese House for their wonderful cheese made on site.

Farm house
This property is definitely for those wanting to get away. It is hard to find and an hour away from anything. It could've been a little cleaner. We were disappointed that we couldn't get any stations on the tv. There was no cell service and the washing machine didn't work. Otherwise it was a cute house that met our needs at the time. Nice yard to walk our dogs in.
