We live in a Treme Creole Cottage built in the 1850's that has a Victorian `1880's front and 1910's Edwardian rear addition with side galleries. We recently added a rear brick patio with a BBQ.
Inside we have three separate units that can connect and be rented together. Downstairs two units - upstiars 1 unit - nice brick rear patio for bbq, fire pit, crawfish boil. Traditional New Orleans 'shotgun' walk-through style. Front, side, and rear entrances allow for circulation and privacy.
Great city views and great light!
The most rare and unique feature of this home is the fact that it serves as a gallery for a renowned local painter and illustrator. Each room has a different style accentuated by original paintings and collectible prints, many of which were created for a music festival in our neighborhood, Jazz in the Park. All artwork is for available for purchase during your stay.
I am an illustrator/designer running my own business here in New Orleans. I have a studio in the front of the house where I work during the day, creating art for bands, music festivals and small businesses in town. I love going out to see live music, biking around and collaborating with amazing people.
I love to travel, especially during the summer. I hope to explore South and Central America more as I've fallen in love with Guatemala & Colombia on recent trips. I also love road tripping across this beautiful expansive country of ours. When I hit the road, I usually arrange work wherever I'm going, either painting murals or creating signage.
I love hearing about where people come from and also showing them the best way to experience New Orleans -- It is a very exciting and sometimes overwhelming city. You don't want to get caught on Bourbon St. the whole time!
Most guests end up staying out all day and night when they visit this town, so I have a pretty hands-off hosting style. I'm always available via text to answer questions, and am happy to keep you posted on what events & shows are happening during your stay.
Ben purchased this house in 2010
This is exactly what my group was looking for. Comfort, great decor, great location. Tons of space. We will definitely come back again. The hosts couldn't have been more accommodating. Highly recommended!
On behalf of my group of 9, I cannot thank Ben enough for his great hospitality! His home was exactly how he described it; comfy beds and prime location. It's definitely not anything fancy, but it certainly does have that New Orleans feel. Located right at the border of French quarter and Treme it really couldn't have been any better. As a first timer in NOLA, I was a little skeptical about the area but Ben assured me with ease. The unit is maybe a 10-15 minute walk into the French Quarter and a little longer if you are heading towards Frenchman. We walked everywhere, night and day, and never had a problem. Ben was really responsive to all emails, texts, and phone calls; making it an easy stay. He even had a little map that highlighted some of his favorite restaurants and bars- so helpful! I would recommend this host to anyone planning a future trip. And I know my group will definitely be coming back for round 2!
This place was immaculate , in a fantastic location, the booking was very easy and the check - in and check out was effortless. The house is a close walk to the French quarter and an excellent point of departure for discovering the city. Highly recommended
This place was spotless, charming and the host and neighborhood were great. HIghly recommended for groups interested in the culture of new orleans. there is also really great artwork in the place which made our stay there that much more colorful. we'd definitely book again!
When we booked this place for my bachelor party we weren't looking for a top of the line all inclusive bed and breakfast, we were just looking for a decent place to rent where we could hang out and sleep. This place was gross. The bathrooms were not cleaned when we got there. There was hair on the shower walls and the floors turned your feet black. Only one shower of the three had hot water and the bathroom floors were filthy. We opened the cabinets in one bathroom and found a dirty diaper. I've backpacked through Europe and stayed in $10 a night hostels and this is without a doubt the dirtiest place I've ever played my head. And I'm not even going to talk about the random filthy stuffed animals laying around. My advice is to keep looking.
Beautiful, fun, & funky 200-year-old historic home in the heart of the famous Treme. Soaring ceilings, gorgeous architecture. 6 queen beds, 1 full bed, 2 twins, 3 full sleeper sofas. 1 bath, full kitchen, steps to the French Quarter, bars, food, coffee, and public transport. We partyin'!
