Guestbook comments from the owner

The villa was everything we hoped it would be and the weather really played its part – 14 sunny days what more could we ask for? Kefalonia is lovely and we will be back.

The beach at Lass is Great (Makris Gialos). The jet skis and banana boat were great fun. Argostoli Fruit fish and meat markets are great, we used A&B supermarket for everything else which is fine. Sami is nice and relaxed we visited the caves which was very interesting. We picked up the boat trip to Fiscardo from Scala well worth the trip and swimming off the boat. Our favorite for the evening was Assos, so pretty in the evening and relaxed watching the world go by in one of the restaurants. Myrtos beach is a must.

All in all we had a wonderful holiday and thank you for having us

Absolute perfection.

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I were both Kefalonia virgins. We'd also never been on a 'villa' holiday before, so we weren't quite sure what to expect.

I can safely say that our stay far, far exceeded our expectations.

The Villa

Absolute 5 star luxury. The photographs don't do it justice, I promise you. On arrival, we were astounded by just how perfect it was. I normally stay in 5 star hotels (mainly on business, unfortunately) and this place stood head and shoulders above most of the hotels I've experienced. It's bright, airy, modern (but comfortable), fully equipped (with Sky+ and a cracking outside BBQ)...and also completely spotless. We didn't even see as much of the island as we had intended because we couldn't bare to leave the villa.

Most of our time was spent relaxing by the infinity pool or having gin and tonic on the balcony. Eating breakfast and supper looking out onto the ocean (the view will floor you) are memories we will cherish for many years to come. Big double showers and marble bathrooms also helped make it feel like an indulgent luxury.

The island

Kefalonia is a very beautiful place and I can honestly say it has it all. If you want to relax by your own private pool, drinking in the sun and enjoying the villa, you can. If you want to spend time on one of the worlds most beautiful beaches (Myrtos rated 5th in the world) you can. If you want to shop at local markets, take in a coffee, an ice cream or just a walk along the port - it's all there. The restaurants are great and the people are lovely. My husband and I are in our early thirties...and while we like to relax - we also like a bit of fun - so we found a very hip cocktail bar, got dressed up and enjoyed one too many mojitos.

The service

John and Claire were nothing short of fantastic. Communication pre and during the booking was faultless and you really felt like their priority was ensuring you had the most perfect holiday. It was a pleasure giving them our business.

Value for money

If you're looking for a very relaxing, luxurious, sun baked holiday then I urge you to book this villa. In the current economic climate, it was extremely affordable, but still felt like a treat. We even came home with money left over because we spent most of our time in the villa.

We cannot recommend this villa highly enough. It has everything and it really was a holiday of a lifetime. Completely stress-free and without any hiccups or hassles.

Wonderful First Time in Kefalonia

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this villa as a family of four (2 adults and two teenage boys). It was our first visit to Kefalonia and we hope it won't be our last.........we had a wonderful time. The villa is even better than the pictures portray. It was spotlessly clean and contained everything and more that you could need to make it your home from home. The view from the villa takes your breath away. Although you really need a car to get the most from your holiday, the villa is only a very short drive from some wonderful sandy family friendly beaches. The nearest one has two wonderful tavernas at the side of it. We sampled them both and thought they were great. The villa is extremely private and is not overlooked, yet it is in a small village with a shop, bar and tavernas all within walking distance. Information and tips provided by Claire and John both before and during the holiday were excellent and they make in their way to ensure you have an excellent time.

The island itself is beautiful and we found the people extremely friendly. We would love to return and would not hesitate to stay in Villa Flora again.

Fantastic villa & pool in peaceful location!

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a wonderful, relaxing week's holiday at Villa Flora. The villa was beautiful, clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The views from the villa are fabulous, and it is in a peaceful location within a lovely village. The owners provided excellent communication, help and advice from our initial enquiry, through booking, whilst we stayed at the villa and after our return home. Claire was available during our stay and provided a welcome pack and great tips on where to eat, car hire and directions etc. A car is essential to stay at the villa, but the shops, beaches and restaurants are all within a short drive away, however there is a local shop and restaurant within walking distance. We wanted a quiet, relaxing place to unwind and enjoy Kefalonia, the pool was beautiful and not overlooked with a wonderful view towards the sea. This Villa fully met all our expectations and more and we would happily recommend staying here for couples, friends or families. We would love to return here again in the future but hopefully to stay for longer next time!

Five Star in every respect!

  • 5 of 5

We carefully chose Villa Flora based largely on the previous reviews, and we were not disappointed. This is an exceptionally well appointed, equipped, situated and beautiful (but welcoming) villa, ideally placed to maximise the enjoyment of a stay on this lovely island.

The villa is luxuriously and comfortably furnished and impeccably clean. The infinity pool is perfectly sited to maximise bathing in water and sun, with fantastic views down to the coast. The patios are equipped with every sort of feasible seating, from sun loungers through casual and formal dining to rattan sofas - which really enhanced the dining and relaxing options.

The stone BBQ was again well situated, worked exactly as advertised, and added to the overall package.

The provision of satellite TV, stereo system and wifi meant that all of our party (with a wide age range) were perfectly catered for.

Bedrooms were all air conditioned and again comfortable - what a difference to rent a villa where someone has obviously got knowledge of quality and stylish fittings, without making guests feel uncomfortable or in a show house. Everything worked exactly as advertised, and Claire could not have been more helpful with expert advice on where to go, what to do, and who to see - even to the point of booking several brilliant excursions for us, (including sea kayaking and scuba diving). Claire also made life so much easier by going more than the extra mile by helping out with luggage transfers and

This holiday was EXACTLY what we had hoped for, and exceeded our expectations very considerably. The island was gorgeous, friendly, scenic, cultured (i.e. no blaring music or nightclubs that WE could see) with a wealth of good restaurants and quiet romantic (and family oriented) beaches.

We will definitely be revisiting this island, and will be coming back to this villa.

Unusually in our experience, there were no problems or drawbacks whatsoever, it was a really first class holiday, facilitated largely by Claire and her lovely property! Many thanks indeed.

IMAGINE STAYING IN A LUXURY VILLA IN A HISTORICAL PRESTIGIOUS GREEK VILLAGE - the unique luxury villa offers SUPERB BREATHTAKING VIEWS of the sea. The area is surrounded by olive groves, vineyards and cypress trees and is just a short 5 minute drive from the beautiful sandy beaches of Avithos, St Hellis and Ammes, Avithos being the nearest beach around 15 minutes walk. There are a few restaurants which are within a 10 minute walk and the nearby villages of Lakithra and Svoronata also offer a number of local tavernas, mini-markets and bakery. In addition to this the villa is just a 10 minute drive from the capital of the island, Argostoli, which offers a cosmopolitan atmosphere with many good restaurants and bars. The area offers much historical interest with the house where Lord Byron stayed only a stones throw from the villa with a statue in his honour. The weather in Kefalonia is very warm from May to October.

Other Activities: Ten pin bowling
