Our vacation place for nearly 20 years!

  • 5 of 5

We started to come to Red Bay when our son was 2 years old. Over the years we have come back to Red Bay and Restawhile cottage for the family atmosphere, the rest, the quiet, the reconnecting with family and with nature. The cottage is so comfortable! We bring less in the way of travel clothes as there is a washer and dryer (handy for the wet swim suits and towels too!). The kitchen is very well equipped. The vista from the front window allows all the beauty of nature and the water to come in. The deck is my favourite spot for morning coffee and an evening cup of tea. The waters of Red bay are not only clean and sandy to swim in but absolutely wonderful to sit by and enjoy the day and the lovely sunsets. There is always a flea market to go to, farmers market, gardens to visit, Colpoy's Bay in Wiarton - the list is endless! Restawhile is the perfect place to retreat from the busyness of life and reconnect with oneself... After vacationing at Red Bay for nearly 20 years, there is not another place we would consider "living" for 2 weeks each year. Our children know of no other vacation than the shores of Red Bay and Restawhile cottage. The owner is helpful in every way imaginable. One stay convinced us so long ago. We look forward to visiting Red Bay every year!

Still talking about last years stay

  • 5 of 5

My wife and our 6 year old twins stayed at Restawhile for the first time last year.

What a pleasant surprise.

We Automatically booked for this year after the first day.

The cottage and location were exactly what we hoped for, quiet location a 2 minute walk to a family based non busy beach.

The water was shallow and warm and SAFE for the kids.

As parents we did not have to worry and just enjoyed the water and sunshine.

The cottage was clean and tidy and had all the amenities necessary to ensure total comfort.

The evenings were quiet and the kids and adults slept better here than in our own homes.

There was always plenty of room at the beach to set yourself up.

The sunsets were beautiful.

Highly recommended

Can't wait to return!

  • 5 of 5

Our family has been enjoying quality time at Red Bay for a couple of weeks each summer for the last four years and we are eagerly looking forward to our return this summer. Restawhile Cottage provides us with all the comforts of home with many amenities included - which makes packing for our two week stay quick and easy. Beautiful Red Bay with a warm and friendly family beach, terrific paddling, mini golf and ice cream within walking distance, and of course the sunset is perfect any time of the year. We are lucky enough to live close enough to the area to make day trips throughout the year - the sandy bay is so shallow and warm we've swam in it on Victoria Day weekend! A short drive in any direction brings you to shops (Bruce Beckons), parks (Bruce Peninsula National Park), restaurants (Red Bay Lodge - have the wings!) and all of your nessessaries in Wiarton. The hosts are friendly, accommodating and are pleased to give recommendations. Enjoy your stay - maybe we'll see you at the beach!
