Also a beach umbrella to keep the sun out if you prefer. We have a gas fire pit, that way if there is a fire ban you can still have a fire! If their are 4 or more of you and you would prefer more of a private sleeping arrangement just ask as we have other sleeping accommodations for your needs. Check out the photos and don't forget to check out the video I just posted of the dolphins that I took right in front of the cabin, it was truly awesome and exciting even though I have seen it many times it is always like the first! Sit and enjoy the complimentary bottle of wine as you watch all the action on the water and watch the cruise ships go to and from Alaska through the inside of discovery passage. Its an awesome sight! One of my favorite things to do is walk the reef when the tide is out, you can go a long ways out and the sea life is incredible. You can see, sea lions sun bathing on the rocks right in front of you and eagles eating crabs and whatever else they can get there claws into. You will see so many star fish in every different color, it is truly amazing, and don't forget the octopus as well. Its like you are in a different world so I really recommend doing that, and its right out in front of the cabin. We also have two mountain bikes and helmets for your enjoyment. We have many biking trails or ride the sea walk into town it is beautiful right along the water. Our kitchen is fully loaded, we have every kind of spice, mayo, mustard, ketchup as well as laundry soap, bounce etc and if not just ask.. The mountain views are spectacular as well as beautiful sunrises in every color. We have Cable, Wi-Fi, Netflix. Crave T.V. Enjoy the firepit as you watch the cruise ships go by. We are 5 minutes from Storey Creek Golf Course walking, and 10 minutes driving at most to Campbell River for coffee, dining, pubs and shopping. 30 min from Comox/Courtenay offering great little shops and gluten free restaurants and 30 minutes from Mount Washington Ski Resort, So we hope to see you in Beautiful Campbell River, the Salmon Capital of the World! Give us a call at Oceanside Cabin at 250-202-4983 or 250-923-2302 And if you are interested in Salmon Fishing for the "Big One!" Must see places in Campbell River are Canadas first Saltwater fishing pier. It is open 24 hrs a day. It has built-in rod holders, cleaning tables, picnic tables and benches, It also has a concession which is open from 7am till dusk. They have the best hard ice-cream in town as well as hotdogs, fish and chips etc. They are open from May to October and supplies rods and tackle rentals as well as licenses. Free fishing and rods for kids under 16. Wheelchair accessible and onsite public washrooms and R.V. Parking. Fabulous setting for wildlife viewing! Oh and kids if it wiggles and has a tail you will get a free famous ice-cream cone! THIS IS AN AMAZING SITE, NOT TO BE MISSED! ELK FALLS SUSPENSION BRIDGE! This has just been opened and the sights are truly breathtaking.
Another great adventure is Quinsam Nature Trail and Elk Falls Provincial Park. The trail takes 2 kilometers one way or 45 minutes round trip and is easy. The trail is a gorgeous walk through the low lands of the Quinsam River through huge Douglas Fir trees with Cedar Trees, some are close to a 1000 yrs old. The trail follows spawning channels and all the old maple trees make a gorgeous canopy. I have complete directions if you choose to take a walk through this beautiful nature trail. Another famous area is Ripple Rock (Seymour Narrows) It was the most dangerous stretch of water on the inside passage of Vancouver Island. Between 1850 and 1953 more then 100 ships struck the rocks and sank. In 1953 the BC government decided to blast Ripple Rock apart, It turned out to be the largest peacetime non-nuclear explosion in the world. Walk the Ripple Rock trail up to the summit. At the end of the trail you will overlook Seymour Narrows where you can see Quadra Island, the mainland and a view of the ships passing by and if your timing is right you will see the Cruise Ships go by. Seymour Narrows is less then a kilometer wide and you are high up so the view is beautiful.
If you are into Golfing, Storey Creek Golf Club is just a 3 minute drive from the cabin or a beautiful walk. You will always see Eagles soaring, deer wandering all over, owls and an occasional black Bear! Storey Creek has been voted the 3rd best public course in B.C.
LOVE SKIING!!! Mount Washington is the place to go and only 30 minutes away. You can ski, snowboard, snowshoe, hike the beautiful trails. Mount Washington is the gateway to Strathcona park it provides boardwalk access to many lakes, and trails, it is the perfect place for families looking for the outdoor adventure. Loads of Mountain biking trails as well!
Campbell Rivers regional human history museum ranks with the biggest and the best across Canada. We are open year round, from October 1 to May 17, the Museum is open Tuesday to Sunday, 12-5pm, in December daily from 10 to 5 and from May 18 to September 30, 10-5pm. You must try Dicks Fish and Chips, the best in town and they are right across the Fishing Pier! If you are looking for steaks and seafood the best in town is "The Harbour Grill" they are pricey but well worth it. My favourite is the Seafood (crab, scallops and prawns) in a creamy sauce with angel hair pasta! Fabulous! Or Peppercorn sauce for your steaks, out of this world! The neighbourhood pub on dogwood, called The Royal Coachman is great as well. There is also Moxies bar and grill, they have the best Spinach Salad and then on the water is The Riptide Bar and restaurant, they have many items on there menu as well but I love there home made Pizza! These are just a few of my favourite choices. We Also have many Sushi Bars and restaurants as well such as Washabi just up dogwood next to quality foods!
