Our fully air conditioned condo unit 607 is beautifully appointed with island decor throughout. From the moment you step in the door you will be greeted by a breathtaking view of the ocean and gardens and Molokai Island to the right. As you proceed to our lanai with seating for four, you may be greeted by sail boats passing by and surfers just off shore. A short walk to the shoreline at the edge of the property and you can often see green sea turtles as they feed on coral in the surf. You'll enjoy free wifi throughout the condo and flat screen cable tv in the bedroom and the living room. Our full kitchen is well stocked with service for 4 and a washer/dryer is provided in the unit. The dining table seats 4. The master suite is large with a comfortable king bed w/luxury linens and a flat panel TV/DVD player. Free wireless internet (WIFI) is available within the unit. The bathroom includes a tiles walk-in shower with luxury linens. The couch in the living room folds out to a queen bed, so the condo sleeps four comfortably and a flat screen TV with DVD player and wireless connection to Netflix and other online services. A slider gives you access to the lanai from the living area, and master bedroom. This provides breathtaking and seemingly private garden, ocean and mountain views. The Royal Kahana property boasts a spacious pool area with a large heated pool; an impeccably maintained lawn area with lounge furniture for sunbathing; a large indoor cabana for dining and entertainment; several gas barbecues, ping pong tables, and shuffleboard. There is an exercise room with treadmills, weight machines, and stair-stepper. Free parking is available outside or in the underground garage. Come and enjoy our little piece of paradise.

Aloha Found

I judge a place by "could I see myself living here" and the answer was yes. Nicely decorated and well stocked for cooking needs. Cupboards have some condiments but nothing like mayo and such. market close.-by. There is AC in the unit but there is enough windows and such to not have it on when the breezes are blowing. Deck was great for watching the turtles. I would and will stay here again. Thank you for sharing your Maui Home with us.

Great Location - Perfect for 2 Adults

Stayed April 2017 for 7 days. First the resort in general - The Royal Kahana Resort is older with a modest appearance but we found it clean and well-kept. We didn't use the services of the tour desk in the lobby but it's there if you need it. Parking 1 car was never an issue for us, seemed to be ample spots both outside and covered. The pool area is bright and open with plenty of sun and shade areas, tables with chairs and sun loungers. 3 or 4 BBQ's for guests however we did not use them. The pool was extremely clean and the water very warm. There's a poolside snack shack with limited hours offering a small menu - good if you need something quick. A 20 foot path to the beach was very convenient - take your water shoes. The location of the resort suited us - although we were far enough from the road that the traffic didn't bother us, there are lots of amenities directly across the street. Shell station, Whaler's General store (groceries, beer, liquor, etc.) Walk another 2 minutes to Maui Brewing Company :-) and Dollies Pizza and Pub, a coffee shop and McDonald's. City bus stop across from Dollies. Now the condo - a good size for 2 adults. When the winds are up we had a nice breeze blowing through the louver windows in the back to the balcony door and bedroom windows facing the ocean. The bed was comfortable and good water pressure in the shower. Although the kitchen is fully stocked with fixtures (pots pans utensils appliances) we found it lacked consumables. With the exception of paper towels and toilet paper we had to buy everything - coffee filters, saran, foil, zip locks, etc. There are no Dollar stores so be prepared to pay premium prices for pretty much everything. Likely the reason guests take everything they buy with them when they leave. The balcony was perfect - although there's a building to the right it doesn't interfere with the beautiful ocean view and sunsets. Another perk at this time of year is that half the balcony was sun and half shade so you could pick. When we first walked into the condo there was a strong musty, moldy smell. We though it was because the unit had been closed up but the smell remained. After a few days realized it was the front-load washing machine. I took my clorox wipes and cleaned a big smear of black guck off the inside of the glass door, then ran a "clean basket" cycle which helped a bit but didn't take the smell away completely. Aside from the one issue, we enjoyed Royal Kahana!

Owner's Response: We appreciate the feedback from the guest. We will look into the washer issue since this is the first we had heard of this. I am sorry the guest did not call our on island manager using the phone number provided with check in information to allow us to address the issue when they noticed the issue. As always, she is very quick to respond to any guest concerns.

Incredible View and Accomodation

Perfect ocean view from the lanai. We saw whales spouting and sea turtles swimming by. The beach has washed away but this doesn't spoil anything as a walkable beach is just a short walk away. This condo is further up from The mayhem of Kaanapali making it quieter and peaceful. Everything you need is available and there are stores and restaurants close by. Bed was super comfortable. The pool was never crowded and the water was warm. I would definitely stay here again!

Not so quiet!

First off, the condo was exactly as described and very comfortable. The views are outstanding!! Especially this time of the year when you can see whales pretty much anytime you look out from the balcony. However, as previously noted there is no longer a beach on the resort. It's a short walk to the beach at a neighboring resort. But the problem is they are putting in a retaining wall and the couple of days that I tried to stay on the balcony to rest and enjoy the scenery, it was impossible because of all the heavy equipment they were using to put up the seawall. I stayed at this condo for the balcony and the view and wasn't able to take advantage of it during working hours (which start VERY early and so do not EVEN try to sleep in). It was very annoying to be woken up SO early and not to be able to enjoy the view from the balcony during the daytime hours.

Owner's Response: Unfortunately our shoreline has been subjected to several severe winter storms just recently and we have been unable to do any advanced planning of shoreline repairs due to the permitting process required on Maui. I am sorry for any inconvenience that this may have caused. The repairs should be completed and things should be getting back to normal.

Friendly staff and clean property

We had a wonderful experience the only downfall was there was no beach on the property and we were not informed before we arrived

Owner's Response: Unfortunately, the area had several unusually severe winter storms that eliminated the beach in a relatively short period of time to everyone's surprise. This happened only a short time ago. We are in the process of requesting permission from the County to restore the beach; however, this process may take a couple of years. In the interim, we have beach access a short walk from the condo and ten of the best beaches on Maui (each wig is own unique characteristics) within a 15 minute drive from the condo.

Kahana is a lovely little village just north of busy Lahaina. Our fully air conditioned oceanfront condo is perfectly situated on the 6th floor. It is perfectly situated just above the palm trees for an unobstructed view of the ocean and is also located on the secluded and quiet garden side of the Royal Kahana Resort with an ocean view perfect for relaxing and enjoying the tranquility. The lanai is less than 200 feet from the ocean where turtles are often feeding in the surf and whales are visible and active just off shore. Our grounds adjacent to the ocean have plenty of lounge chairs for sunbathing and access to the beach a short walk from the complex. Within 10 minutes to the north or south, you have access to ten of the best beaches on Maui: Napili, Kapalua, Oneloa, DT Fleming and Honolua Bay to the north and Kahekili, Honokowai, Black Rock, Kaanapoli, Hanakaoo to the south. Across the street at the Kahana Gateway, one can enjoy drinks and great food at Maui Brewing Company. In addition there's a Whaler's General Store, coffee shop, dive/snorkel/board rental shops, gas station, and McDonalds. Be sure to visit the Banyan Tree in downtown Lahaina, and while you're there you can enjoy the numerous restaurants and great shopping. Come visit our home away from home. Our guests tell us they love it here and look forward to returning.
